  • S&S Super E carburetor/ tuning, base settings in 5 minutes. is a video explaining how to set the base settings on a S&S Super E carburetor. This video is a shorter version of a video already on the channel. this shows just the adjusting of base settings only. this particular carburetor is being used on a 1991 Harley-Davidson Sportster with a 1200cc Evolution engine. thanks for watching.

    So is turning the fuel/air left giving it more fuel or turning it in

      My carb (S&S Super E) on my Shovel head after it's been warmed up works this way: idle screw at about 850-900 rpm (3/4 turn on the screw). Air & fuel screw 1-7/8 turns out from all the way in. Accelerator pump screw 2-3/4 to 3-1/4 out from all the way in. PS. After bike has been warmed up for at least 20 minutes and running, turn air/fuel screw IN until its sputters and then turn OUT till it's sputters again, counting how many turns it took from IN to Out and then just turn back in halfway of total turns all together. I know it sounds confusing but it's actually very simple and basic. Happy trails 👍
