    You are just plain fun to listen to as you present the preferred way and the reality. I have been doing maintenance and repairs on my bikes and other vehicles for 50 years, learning as I go, you are the most entertaining 'teacher' I ever had, thanks!
    I have an 'E' on my enhanced performance Panhead with a ThunderJet, now I understand how it works. I had it apart a couple of years ago, missed a couple of details (idle circuit), it hasn't idled right, it is coming back off.
    I have a 'B' on a 1980 74" stroker Sportster that I bought at an estate sale with very limited history. I am going through it checking, lubricating, re-wiring and correcting problems. It is a learning experience as I have no knowledge about Sportsters, just shop and parts manuals and what I can find on the net. My 'B' looks as crusty as the one you did, gives me hope.
    I have been binging on your channel tonight, near the end of the newer Sporty with the bad stator, 4 am I'm calling it a night, I will be back on your channel tomorrow. I subscribed a while ago but with over 650 subscriptions it takes awhile to make the circuit, lots of different interests. Thanks for your informative help.

    The screw that is removed for the air vent for the Float is for aftermarket air cleaners, as some have a port in the back plate and some do not.

      Im not sure about that. It looks like it goes into the main bleed passage.

    at about 45 mins, you had an issue with your accelerator pump screw. Have you had this issue since? i ask because i removed my bowl to check the jets, and noticed there was some fuel around that seal, so i took it off. That same screw didnt seem like it was threaded at all, I thought maybe it was crossed or broken. But, if I remove all the parts, and try to screw that screw in again, it catches thread. when i put the stuff back together, it doesn't want to catch a thread.

    • @KnobleMoto
      @KnobleMoto  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The spring tension on the linkage, may be making it go crooked. Try and hold the spring back and thread it in, then if it still won't go, I would replace the screw.

    Hi...great detailed video.
    Question; can I use a Super G rebuilt kit on a Super E carb?

    • @KnobleMoto
      @KnobleMoto  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      some of the parts will work. The throat and butterfly on the G is larger than the E, so anything related to that will not work.

  • @michaelthomas788
    @michaelthomas788 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You know why those butterfly bolts are so much of a pain in the ass to take out of carburetor because if you look on the other side of them they usually tell you to take a chisel and put an x pattern in the boat when it goes through the carburetor so it doesn't come out and end up in your engine if you want to get them out the easy way you take a drill bit and drill the screw from the opposite direction until it releases

    • @KnobleMoto
      @KnobleMoto  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn’t see any marks on those screws, but I know the ones you are talking about.

    Great job!
    What the two little ballbearings do or how they work? Thanks.

    • @KnobleMoto
      @KnobleMoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Each one is a check valve. They prevent fuel from going one way, while allowing it to go the other.
