@sayandebnath3722 I would advise you to do a backup of your important files and then brand new reset of the phone. After your new setup the phone usually takes 4 days to 1 week to balance up and run normal battery life.

24:00 That's facts because I see other tech reviewers doing this test without mobile sims in and they are getting insane results. Then I go out to buy the phone and it's just not the case, I usually get 3 to 2 hours less than what they get. Wifi with sim in and mobile data only was so interesting to see. Great video 👍🏾

It just shows once again that old Samsung modem in Pixel devices is the main issue with the battery, hence why on Wifi it is completely different story.

@@Stuffwelike2hear I'd rather have a worse SoC than an impotent OS 😋 Especially impressive is the Pixel 8 Pro battery life considering it not only has the inferior Tensor G3, but also just UFS 3.1 storage.
But the Pixel and S24U, both on mobile data, were virutally the same. So Qualcom or Samsung modem doesn't matter. Wifi will ALWAYS beat mobile data on battery life.
We need more of these! Nobody does a battery test on 4G/5G and only on wifi.

The most informative battery drain test out there! One suggestion though - we compare SOT so the last stage of the test under 15% of battery shouldn't be super mega high intensity load itch kills the battery in a matter of minutes. 4k 60fps is very high load and makes the real differences less significant than they really are, because 15% battery left is not just a 20min min of 4k recording, its 15% in witch you can do a LOT and even extend it to 60min. In real life you never squeeze the last bit of a juice the fastest way you can think of...
It's an EXTREME Battery drain test so some parts are there as a worst case scenario
I agree but it needs to be standardized. Because that's how it's always been done and we have figures of time now, that's how every phone should be benchmarked now

Great comparison! Something that many people don't talk about. Would really like to see how Exynos 2400 performs in such test. On my S22 LTE can give me 2h SoT less or even less.

Tensor with the Samsung modem is trash. Period. Samsung Fold 5 here. I get 2 days on a single charge with 5G on and WiFI off at the office (No WiFi). I get 2 bars inside and still go home after 8 hours with 80 percent battery.
Wow.. such dedication! Best in comparisons!!.... Well I noticed on the wifi tests, the mobile data was still on. That could affect these results as well. You should probably turn data off on the wifi only run... my 2 cents

These are smartphones and they should be smart enough to optimise when on Wi-Fi even if a sim card is in phone and data is on

@@bonezb1192 Charging speed isn’t the end of the world I use oneplus phones also and I limit the charing to 80%. Even my OP 11R charges to 80% in about 25 mins I almost every time take it off charging after about 45 minutes.
But do I wish iPhones charged faster ? Absolutely!!

Wow. The S24 Ultra was way worse than I thought. In the mobile data tests the S24 Ultra only lasts 23 minutes longer than the Pixel 8 Pro and in the wifi tests the S24 Ultra died first. In both tests the S24 Ultra actually got hotter. Although all of them got too hot.
The biggest surprise to me was the fact that the phones actually got hotter on wifi which I totally didn't expect. Especially with the Pixel 8 Pro.

Just found your channel! This comparison is great, but I think you should include an idle section where you just leave the phones with no apps running for 12/24 hours (with displays off) to simulate time in pocket. I think this would better simulate real-world usage as no one really unplugs their phone and uses it non-stop until failure
Thanks foe being here watching and supporting. You have to consider that doing these tests and editing them is brutally painful and long. To now an an extra day of standby time is too much at the moment so just take these test for what they are now and enjoy them. You're welcome

Thank you for the in depth true battery life. However, putting screen brightness that low is not real life representation, especially using data, as using data is associated with outdoor usage. We should do half of the test with 80% of brightness and the rest at indoor brightness level.

If anything a higher brightness level will probably shift the results more towards the pixel as it has the most efficient screen of the bunch.

I had the Pixel 8 Pro for three months, and it was a great phone. If the battery life had been better, I would have kept it, but unfortunately, it wasn't.
What did you get instead? I can't stand iOS so an iPhone was automatically out. For the few months prior to getting my Pixel 8 Pro I was considering getting a Samsung S23+ but every time I went into a store to buy one I tried it out again and was reminded how much I can't stand Samsung's One UI. I got and kept the Pixel 8 Pro because the software experience narrowly beat out battery life for me.

Actually slightly different since I don't have any yet but I had the S23 Ultra while trying to go flagship alongside my Pixel 6A and I sold the Ultra after 2 weeks or so, just felt restless with the UI, also for some reason the battery (on WiFi) wasn't noticeably better than my 6A, despite all the noise on TH-cam.
Now I am looking to try again, P8 pro was my 1st choice but the talk about the battery is worrisome, I know I wouldn't be very happy with S24 Ultra, what's left? iPhone 15 pro max, amazing battery and performance! but!!.. iOS🤦🏾♂️ oh even worse is that f dynamic island BS, I already know I'd be coping everyday looking at that silly thing especially when it expands!
Back to square 1 I guess Pixel, I fear I might dislike the likes of OnePlus, Honor and co. for the same reason I did One UI.
@@raizo6895 it definitely sucks to have to decide between a good software experience. I hated having to sacrifice one for the other. Although I'm generally happy with my decision. The battery life is pretty bad for me. Worse than all but one smart phone I've owned. Especially on mobile data (the only battery life I really care about). At least I'm enjoying the software experience.
Hopefully the fully Google designed and TSMC built Tensor G5 in the Pixel 10 phones will make the battery life better.
For performance I don't care that much because even mid-range performance is fine for me (I don't really play games that much). My last phone had a mid-range processor and it did just fine and that was mid-range from 3-4 years ago.

The s24 Ultra battery is strange. It seems like the battery is severely damaged. Normally, the battery life lasts longer than that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max and there is less battery loss due to data, but this is really strange. Are you sure there is nothing wrong with the s24 battery? The reliability of the test is gradually decreasing.
The battery is fine on the S24 Ultra
my second S24 Ultra onl last about 4hrs SOT with Android Auto and Cellular, Iphone 15 PM same Apps and Usage i get like 6hrs. Standby Drain on S24 Ultra is insane ;( otherwise great device
That is false. In nearly every battery test I have seen the iPhone wins since it was updated to iOS 17.3. FWIW iOS beta 117.4 also improves it even further. It is a well-known aside that during the first year life cycle battery life improves per .1 update as Apple prioritizes battery optimisation later whilst they fix bugs in earlier updates.

Amazing video, I have extra battery drain since my s23 has connectivity issues. Because I previously got my display fixed by some random repair shop samsung charging £600 to change the main board.
Good video. Consider doing the test with weaker signal too next time. The modem battery consumption increases as signal gets worse.

It's all in margins of the batteries. It all depends on how you use the phone. Do this test 5 times and the outcome could be different.

I have experienced this a lot on Samsung devices. I think when the battery on its last draw and with intensive load, it cuts the power to avoid any damage to battery . Well thats my theory. And someone educate me if Im wrong.
We will never truly know unless Samsung themselves say it
I heard that they stop the battery drain at a certain level to make sure that the battery is never fully charged, so avoiding people charging 0-100% and destroying battery health in a year or so. Its a bit of a cheat. Unlike China where they have invested in self-healing battery tech. That means the S24U last 10% is more like 5%. So it is a feature and therefore what you see is what you get.

Great results, would you say that the Pixel 8 Pro is worth it for a heavy battery user? I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro and when I go to bed, I have about 35% battery left.
I don't know how people test the S24 Ultra and getting 10 to 11 hours on screen.
My S24 Ultra exactly like in this video, me chilling at home non stop on screen youtube, netflix, gaming will only get 5 - 6 hours at maxed before needed to charge again.
In 1 hour it will lost around 15% - 20% battery.

I love these tests. However, I have one comment which can help make it even better. When you show the numbers on screen with the battery and percentage loss, it is too small to see on a phone screen. Can you make it bigger or even overlay the results with bigger font on top of the phones itself?
