      Aluminium absorb shocks and get deformed but titanium is hard and it won't absorb shocks, it'll pass those impact to glass and internal components as u can see clearly in the video. Nowadays smartphone brands are fooling everyone, they'll use new useless stuff and increase price of the phone.

      The sides are, just not the glass 😂

    • @nothughmahn
      @nothughmahn 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +167

      Because titanium is stronger than aluminum. All of that shock, instead of deforming the side, just goes to the glass. Aluminum is the best material for phones, and nothing one can say will disprove that. Overall, it was a very disappointing year from Samsung, not even including this drop test.

  • @Rhinotsoplots1000
    @Rhinotsoplots1000 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +932

    Titanium is more rigid while aluminum is more flexible. I don't understand why people think that titanium is gonna make the phone better at absorbing impact. It only makes it better when it has impacts on the edges, but not on the screen. If that impact doesn't affect the frame, well, it has to go through something else on the phone - like the screen.

    • @rajkoradia7747
      @rajkoradia7747 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +72

      Aluminium is so great at absorbing heat and impact . Titanium transfers more of the drop shock to the glass . Just because Titanium is expensive and cooler to say , people think it would be better.

    • @PrabhablyAGoodYouTuber
      @PrabhablyAGoodYouTuber 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +45

      It's all marketing I guess. From a young age, people learn that Titanium is the "strongest" metal - without knowing the full context and nuisances of material science, and that sometimes the "weaker" material is actually more suitable and practical/gives better results.
      People also view things like Titanium as an expensive and "premium" material. All the marketing that it's "Space-Grade/Aerospace" Titanium, etc. Therefore, when both Apple and Samsung are charging $1.2K+ for their phones, and Apple implemented Titanium whereas Samsung still stuck with Aluminum for the S23 Ultra, Samsung looked bad and "cheap" in comparison, so it pressured them to implement it too

      My 6.7 inch screen on an aluminium frame bent after 4 years of constant use of taking out of my sort of tight jeans pockets. So now the display does not fit perfectly and it pops out a bit and dust particles enters my selfie camera. A TPU soft case make aluminium frame redundant. Its a good move for people who use protection case

      I have a claim/assumption: It's a shame, because I often check the battery test (exynos vs Snapdragon) of the Galaxy s24 and the pre-order campaign is now over. I think Phonebuff was bought so that they wouldn't release the test too early. First they bring out all the other tests. Feel free to tell me other reasons if you think I'm wrong. But please don't have delivery problems or anything like that, because the Galaxy s22 battery test Exynos vs Snapdragon was only tested on June 4th, 2022.

    black spot in the corner is the OLED panel bleeding, the purple line is a puncture point from the back/shorted connection in display. too many electrical shorts in the display (more lines seen is signs of life) made it fail and display all white. Samsung mounts their displays to a flat aluminum back with an adhesive/foam gasket, (tedious but satisfying to replace) which is likely the cause for better face down durability since the iPhone has a gap between the display and the internal components.

  • @Lojcs0
    @Lojcs0 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    This is what happens when you make glass more scratch resistant. It breaks easier. Each new 'generation' of glass makes it better at one and worse at the other, so they can keep advertising "2x more impact resistant" and "4x more scratch resistant" in alternating years. Both glasses here are the scratch resistant generation
