It's actually biased, he choose the environment what is prefer the Android phones.. since Android phones have 4 power cores and iPhone have just 2.. so on Android all of the task can get a power core, but on iPhone it's just half of the tasks.. what is if not a biased environment? By the way on iPhone there is a way to increse the performance with low power mode, with that all tasks running on the efficiency cores (so all 4 task get the same type of core, just like on Android, the only downside for that, it's also limit the fps to 60, but none of this tasks required the 120Hz/120fps since the game itself and the other stuffs are already limited to 60fps)

Firstly, other reviewers don't do such kinds of tests, and if they at all do, surprisingly, their iPhones almost always come out as "better" than every other phone. You show the real picture here to all the deluded people who think iPhones are the best. Sure, buying a phone depends on your needs and usabilty and all phones are capable, just as the iPhone. I think there isn't much wrong with how Samsung handles their thermal management. We all know heat is dangerous for the battery and processor. The 8pro is always the hottest. I hope it won't be an issue after a few years. Where the battery amd processor has taken significant damage due to the heat
Samsung stops their phone from getting too hot a bit earlier by shutting down background tasks.

Then I learned that the gaming test I watched was a bit disingenuous because the reviewer was using additional things to help the 15 Pro Max run better by preventing the dimming and FPS drops.

possible for software to offer some small improvement, but not certain. the sd8 gen 3 has less efficiency cores, it has higher power consumption per watt than the 8 gen 2. in other words, the snapdragon 8 gen 3 is unavoidably less efficient than the 8 gen 2, at a fundamental hardware level. it will unavoidably run hotter and throttle more / sooner, regardless of software. samsung may apply software to both similarly, this could worsen the performance of the 8 gen 2, but it cannot improve the 8 gen 3 efficiency beyond that of the 8 gen 2. i never buy devices on pre-order / launch. i wait until they have been out at least 6 months, if not a year. not only does samsung offer better deals and trade ins 6 months after launch, but by that time, i have a good idea of the actual performance & possible issues, from many sources. the s23 ultra proved itself as a solid, efficient, and well rounded device without any major flaws in 2023. i won't be upgrading to an s24 ultra, i will keep my s23 ultra until there is another big improvement with the next ultra, perhaps in 2025, but i can wait if the s25 ultra is not exceptional.

I saw a youtube video comparing the thermal throttling temperatures of the newly released S24s and it was established that the S24 Ultra began throttling/aggressively cooling down the phone at 44°C,,that was it's limiting performance temperature, presumably so as to avoid early complaints of the phone overheating during gameplay as was the case with the early launch of the 15PM...optimally they could take this limit higher but I guess for now its just a case of not wanting any dirt to be laid on them so early..I guess we'll just have to wait n see if they expland their limits in future updates..

Wow. What a surprising review. It unveils the true about S24U and IP15ProMax. Very powerful chips but face overheating issues. Hemce Samsung massive vapour chamber. Apple tweaked its chips by SW updates but it cannot hide the core of the problem. We have to wait until the next year when TSMC improves its 3nm lithography.

Just like how some early gaming and benchmark tests have shown, it seems like Samsung bottlenecked the temperature thresholds of the S24 Ultra at lower temperatures. So it has lower sustainability of high stress performance than the S23 Ultra.
Will this be something Samsung "fixes" with an update? Doubt it, but everyone disappointed about this should send them feedback for the small chance that they listen.

For what it's worth, TH-cam pauses picture in picture on my iPhone XR, randomly, even without any heavy usage at all, so I'm not sure it's due to workload management, and not just youtube screwing with us (wouldn't be the first time). Maybe try Twitch for PiP.

I appreciate the quality of the video but I would like to see a more realistic workload. Obviously a phone doesn’t have a fan (except for the gaming ones) so pushing it on extremes workloads just seems pointless to me. It’s interesting to see the how they handle the situation though but none of these phones are designed for that.
Maybe something like e30 min 4k HDR or things that the phone could be used for.
