I read that the iPhone is the only device that does not lose quality when uploading to Instagram. Is this still true today?

Got mine pixel 8 few days ago, amazing premium phone.. however coming from oneplus (9r), one thing I miss is the native app locker build in the phone and not needing 3rd party apps.. Hope google brings native app locker for pixels in android 15..
The difference in display colors between samsung and iphone vs pixel is so big I dont know why nobody mentions that!!!.. on pixel 8 everything looks pale... its bright but much less vibrant.. i just bought it and I will return because colors look pale even compared to my older phone!!
I was leaning towards S24 but then in Australia it comes with Exynos and much more expensive than Pixel 8. Chose pixel 8 instead, sometimes still wondering if I made the right choice but considering I paid half of the S24 price, I'm happy enough
Typing from a Pixel 6. It's held up incredibly well and would happily buy another Pixel product. The only downside (that's been corrected) is long term OS/software support. Samsung S series is tempting. Apple is once again living off it's reputation and embedded hardcore audience.
You are quite right ! I don't know why no reviewer talks about shutter speed ...for moving subjects, S24 won't come even in top 30 phones.. It's shutter speed is terrible..absolutely trash camera if you have pets or kids in motion
An important point to note was with the biometric inputs of these phones. The S24 uses ultrasonic fingerprint recognition vs the Pixel's inferior optical fingerprint recognition. I had the Pixel 8 and the fingerprint scanner was terrible. I sold it because of this problem. Of course the iPhone has Face ID, which is awesome.
What I feel is an android device can be used as a hybrid like u can do anything but when it comes to an iPhone limited apps everything paid tight ecosystem everything restricted it's like the possibility of restricting every feature in a phone takes away the freedom the way we use a phone proud user of s24 ultra after switching from 13 pro max now after a month I'm loving my ultra the best android I ever had no regrets.
I bought the pixel 8 and it broke down after 4 months. I received a new one after a month's wait time as the phone broke due to a fault that wasn't mine. 4 months after receiving the replacement phone the exact same thing happened! I personally don't recommend the pixel 8.
Personally I like the iPhone better because it just feels more pleasant to use and even though I have an iPad Pro with 120HZ, my iPhone X 60HZ still feels smooth enough. I also appreciate apple's ecosystem the most because it works so well with my iPad pro and Apple watch. I am getting an upgrade for my phone and watch at the same time and I was thinking, should I get the iPhone 15, or should I wait a bit more and get the iPhone SE4. And by the way google isn't meant for competing against smartphones, google should just stick with websites or chrome etc... I think Samsung and Apple are the rivalries between smartphones. Also, I was kind of disappointed how apple sells a $800USD with 60HZ!!! They should at least include 90HZ.
Last year I changed from Iphone 12 to pixel 8 for fresh experience. Greatest regret of my life. This AI of pixel was fun at the first. And then later it became completely useless to me. The camera of Iphone is far better. Specially Pixel's camera at night felt like complete scam. I have never taken decent photo with the Pixel 8 in comparison to Iphone. Pixel camera design is the most anoying thing. Always stuck in my pocket. Nothing against Android OS. but IOS felt more convenient than Android. Android has just too many features that people don't really need on daily basis. Some apps on Pixel don't really load properly. Then I had to reload it manually. So annoying. TBH I could not do more than 40 minutes of Videochat on pixel due it's heat issue. When heat reaches certain temprature, it just automatically shuts down. Can you believe that your phone cant handle 40 minutes of video chat? With Iphone 12, I had never that issue. I also tried Xperia phone, which could not even handle 5 minutes of video recording. Since I use mostly Google services, it's automatic sync to my phone felt convenient. More importantly i bought my phone directly from Google store for 700$. Less than a year it already lost 200$ value. Now it is 500$. On Ebay it is less than 500$. I am not really a guy prefers Iphone over Android. But now I know why people like to use Iphone, which is like a German car in terms of value and functionality. Pixel felt cool at first. Not anymore. For 500$ it is a decent phone for scrolling apps! Can probably fulfill your basic daily minimal needs. Other than that I suggest Iphone over any phone!
Does anyone know that you can adjust the sound on samsungs if you go into the eq and set the 500 hz sound to 0 the tin sound will go away and make the phone sound a lot more better
Which phone to pick? Apple is out because I don't own any apple stuff. S24 is out because it is Samsung and costs more. Pixel 8 is out because 7a is on sale now for $399(Canada) and will probably do 95% of what the 8 will do.
I don't understand why you and other reviewers choose to compare iPhone 15 with Samsung S24. It's like comparing apples with oranges. Samsung does not have a counterpart for the basic version of iPhone. If you want to make a correct correspondence between iPhone and Samsung, this would be: Pro:S24, Plus:Plus and Max Pro:Ultra.
Love the comparison but I almost feel like it would be fair to update this when pixel 9 and iphone 16 come out since samsung does winter/spring releases
If you plan to take your phone outside, probably not the Pixel. The iPhone seems to have the best modem (signal strength dam seek, and power draw). [Not even use here - screen off, keeping reception]
After using s23 and 14 pro before that i can say that my iphone is 15 plus’s screen is slower to respond but it is not that matters. We use phone as a tool and my current phone is just about a fine one.
Pixel got the right price with that inferior specs, and normal iPhone is just bad overall. So i think the S24 is the right one to get for now.
What about Exynos and One UI? Is it worth the compromise over iOS or Pixel UI.

I got my pixel 8 for 525 on black Friday 🎉
I'm loving it so far and coming from an s22 ultra, this smaller size is so refreshing
Mark Thanks for the opal camera you promoted on this video. Even tho I clicked on this video to compare s24 with iphone 15. But purchased the camera because i needed one for my online zoom meetings for work which i mainly use my laptop for and never have i seen such great camera. Thanks once again !
More comparison videos like this where you really pick a choice. Thanks for the great video.
Got mine pixel 8 few days ago, amazing premium phone.. however coming from oneplus (9r), one thing I miss is the native app locker build in the phone and not needing 3rd party apps.. Hope google brings native app locker for pixels in android 15..
I loved how concise yet detailed your video was. The color ways featured for each of these phones are the worst 😅
The difference in display colors between samsung and iphone vs pixel is so big I dont know why nobody mentions that!!!.. on pixel 8 everything looks pale... its bright but much less vibrant.. i just bought it and I will return because colors look pale even compared to my older phone!!
Great shots of St. John's!
I was leaning towards S24 but then in Australia it comes with Exynos and much more expensive than Pixel 8. Chose pixel 8 instead, sometimes still wondering if I made the right choice but considering I paid half of the S24 price, I'm happy enough
1:40 are you sure the iphone 15 is noticeably less bright? I thought both the pixel and three iphone peaked at maximum 2000 nits outdoors
2:12 Great comparison video, but I gotta say I especially really really appreciate the banger song choice here
Are androids any good for social media Such as Instagram? Think about getting pixel 8 pro or iphone 15 pro
wtf... It's the same app Ios or Android
Pixel 8 Pro was on sale recently. I was wondering if I should buy it, as it was cheaper than my regular iPhone 15 and it would probably outperform it.
It's such a difficult choice, but I'm leaning mostly towards the s24
Liked this review a lot!
Insane that the S24 got the camera point over the Pixel. Pixel clearly has the better overall camera. Just look at MKBHD's blind test.
Neither phones are in the test buddy
@@NikSK99 the Pixel 8 is definitely in the test.
@@SethRomero-ps1sy Nope, just watched the video yesterday, only the Pixel 8 pro, Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a.
Right now Pixel 8 is selling for just $382 dollars here in India. Just ordered today 😌
Typing from a Pixel 6. It's held up incredibly well and would happily buy another Pixel product. The only downside (that's been corrected) is long term OS/software support.
Samsung S series is tempting. Apple is once again living off it's reputation and embedded hardcore audience.
I like your unbiased honesty...all great phones yet people still say their one is better etc....owner user experience wins every time.
Great comparison, very straightforward!
The camera category should include taking photos of people and pets in motion. Let's see if the S24 would still be decent in that category.
Surely the Samsung (and likely pixel) also have face ID. My galaxy S10E has facial recognition and it's 5 yrs old.
What I feel is an android device can be used as a hybrid like u can do anything but when it comes to an iPhone limited apps everything paid tight ecosystem everything restricted it's like the possibility of restricting every feature in a phone takes away the freedom the way we use a phone proud user of s24 ultra after switching from 13 pro max now after a month I'm loving my ultra the best android I ever had no regrets.
cannot wait to see pro models comparison for these 3 brands
I bought the pixel 8 and it broke down after 4 months. I received a new one after a month's wait time as the phone broke due to a fault that wasn't mine. 4 months after receiving the replacement phone the exact same thing happened! I personally don't recommend the pixel 8.
Missed an opportunity to have all three phones match up by having the Mint Pixel 8 instead of the Rose one....
I wasn't going to buy another pixel 8 just for the sake of the thumbnail lol...
Would have been great if you had the new mint colour for the pixel. Would have matched the other two.
No
Unfortunately, not every S24 are using snapdragon. In my country, they use exynos.
Other than that I suggest Iphone over any phone!
forget about the phones! Could you please tell me, which camera you are using to make this video?
Does anyone know that you can adjust the sound on samsungs if you go into the eq and set the 500 hz sound to 0 the tin sound will go away and make the phone sound a lot more better
This is exactly what i was looking for! Thank you!!
Great, balanced analysis! Congratulations
My daughter's iPhone 15 looks like a joke next to my S24. 😂
You didn't mention iPhone can last for years
It should be iPhone 15 pro, but I understand why the regular 15 was compared as it’s the same price as the other phones
If you plan to take your phone outside, probably not the Pixel. The iPhone seems to have the best modem (signal strength dam seek, and power draw). [Not even use here - screen off, keeping reception]
i would say the S24 is the better phone overall, only if its the Snapdragon, the Exynos is a fiasco, if you plan to use 5G dont get the Exynos!!!
Does the pixel overheats?
After using s23 and 14 pro before that i can say that my iphone is 15 plus’s screen is slower to respond but it is not that matters. We use phone as a tool and my current phone is just about a fine one.
Are the heating issues on pixel 8 really bad?
Not that I've noticed, no.
Yes, a lot of heating when you use it in car as a navigation and the phone starts to glitch and freeze you can't work with it
Yes heating issue is still there when brightness is maximum in sunlight or use hotspot while using phone. S24 has never these issues
for me S24 is the winner espscially when it is priced the same as pixel 8 in my country.
The s24 doesn't stand a chance outside US due to exynos
Why would i pay 800$ to use my phone how they want me to use it rather than how i want to use my own phone ?
Good review loved wathing it.
