    Today I'm uploading a different kind of video. This is a size guide for the Laco Basic pilot watches. It can also apply to the Lack Original Flieger models as well. So, which Laco Aachen or Augsburg size should you get? The 39mm or the 42mm. In this video, I compare the sizes and give my opinion on which one to get!

    Thanks for the video my friend, it's the only one that really compare 39mm vs 42mm for this particular model and it have been really useful to make my choice. i have 7in wrist(almost as thick than wide...it's important because some wrists are wide but flat and could be compared to a bigger wrist) and i ordered the 39mm. The perfect watch size in my opinion for every day carry. The only thing is the strap: 18mm, it's a little bit skinny and short so a 7.5 or even 7.25 wrist may not be able to buckle it... but a strap can be changed!
    I'm really happy with the 39mm! Thanks again and have a nice day!

      Thank you very much, Philippe! I agree that the 18mm strap is a little bit thin, but you get used to it. Hope you continue to enjoy the watch for a long time :) Have a nice day!

    What a great video man!
    Whilst I was initially going to purchase the 42mm, I ended up opting for the 39 - and with my 6.3 inch (16 cm), I have to say I am incredibly pleased with my decision. If you plan on running this watch as a daily and your wrist is 6.3 inches or less, go for the 39. If your wrist is larger and/or you wear it less often, then go for the 42mm (imo).
    One more thing to note - coming from bigger watches like the CasiOak models, the 39 mm Aachen felt a bit underwhelming in size initially. But after a week or so, you really begin to appreciate how much more comfortably it wears and how subtle it looks compared to the 42 (again, on my 6.3 inch wrist).

    • @NotOnMyWatchYT
      @NotOnMyWatchYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is great to hear, thank you very much!
      I agree that the 39mm is best for daily wear if you have a small wrist, and that you can get the 42mm if you don’t plan to wear that often. It is supposed to be a big watch historically so it makes sense to get the bigger one, but the 39 wears better for everyday wear.
      It does take som getting used to, but I’m glad that appreciate the smaller size after wearing it for a while😊
      Thanks again!

      @@NotOnMyWatchYT Yeeeeeessss...but when navigators wore flieger watches in the past they wore them over lamb's wool leather jackets, so a 50mm+ lung to lug didn't matter. Those large flyer's watches were never meant to be worn on someone's naked wrist.

    Saw this video before i purchased and glad i did. As mentioned in this video, people who are considering this or augsberg should take into account that these have massive visibility. Its all dial with no bezels to get in the way. On my 7" wrist at first i thought i made a mistake, but after some wear it now feels right and not as intrusive as say, my seiko 42mm prospex which you "feel" on your wrist most of the time. Only con is the strap looks ridiculously skinny. Ty for making this video.

    im more of a field watch kinda guy, so i lean towards small watches. so of course, i would pick the small of the two. but.. a pilot watch i feel should be larger. with that being said, if you're a person like me, i buy what i like regardless of what the watch is made for. thank for taking the time to make this video. might just be my speakers, but the audio seemed a lil low. watches and sneakers are my money pits.. lol. thanks again.

    I ordered the 39mm Blaue which comes with a naff nato strap instead of the leather rivet one for some reason. I ordered the dark brown leather strap alongside it. I haven't received the strap yet but the nato strap looks super skinny, way more than the leather one looks in this video. Hoping when I fit the leather one it works out! My wrist is probably a bit smaller than yours as well.

    My wrist is about 6 1/2. The 39mm even though it's the better fit just does not seem right for this watche's history where bigger is more accurate. Obviously 42mm is still nowhere near the original 50m+ cases, but it doesn't feel right to have 40mm+ dive watches that are bigger in diameter then a expensive authentic type B.

      I agree with what you are saying, however I just want the watch to wear as good as possible on my wrist. Also the originals were worn outside the jacket sleeve. But I totally agree that 39mm is very small for what the watch is and historically has been. It’s all a personal preference :)
