Nice presentation of this watch. I bought the Laco with the somewhat nicer decorated Myota movement 8315, which should be technically identical. I like the tradition and spirit of the watch. However, what does not fit so well, in my opinion, is the much too loud automatic movement, there would have been a movement with manual winding better. The Laco watches were intended exclusively for the Luftwaffe and in the original 55mm in diameter. They were worn over the leather uniform.
Just picked a new one up online for a steal using some discount codes- can’t wait for it to be delivered. Me and my daughter took a really lovely trip to Pforzheim in 2020, so it’s kind of a belated memento too, as I told her about them when we were there and we had a look round the watch museum there and I even got her a Laco teddy pilot keyring for indulging my watch geekery 🤣 She was chuffed when I told her I’d got it just now when I put her to bed and the B style dial makes it easy to teach her the time with too… Damn I will go to any lengths to justify my watch purchases 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ (Let’s see if her mum shares our enthusiasm 😄🤞🏽)

(Mine has bought me 2 watches so can’t complain too much, but I did have 2 nights on the sofa when I got my Speedmaster as she was furious- yet she then said “why did you sell it? That watch was really lovely…” 2 years later when it left the collection 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏽)
@@oliverhernandez1369 anything I buy online like that, I’ll google the the name and ‘promo code’ or ‘discount code’ and try a few to see if they work. You can often get 10-30% or at least free delivery. A lot of them don’t work but it helps me justify impulse purchases if I can get something.
Thinking about picking this one up and have my everyday timex that's somewhat similar to this with the black dial. Debating getting the blue since it wouldn't be as redundant with my timex.

Laco and IWC make Flieger style watches- however most are mechanical and expensive, so I ended up getting a Citizen Avion for $165.00 that is a type B with two additional time scales on the dial and it is also a quartz that has eco-drive, so as long as it is expose to any light, it will always have power, this is what I want in a watch.
German watch, Japanese movement. Slap an Italian strap and you have the axis powers on your wrist.

They used to be really big. 55mm is pretty massive but it was function over form. I’m very happy with mine and think 42 is good size.

Looks nice! I've been trying to decide between Laco and Stowa, and also which one.
I would go Stowa if you can spring for it.
The reason is because it has a Miyota movement.

How's the Lume on it?
Not bad on the hands. The printed numeral lume fades quickly though.
