I am 77 years old and several times I have stated I am not a farmer living down here in south central Florida; but with Illinois being my home state I did do some farming for my Dad and Uncle. I drove the diesel John Deere 4020 tricycle front tire type and loved it. My brother drove the same. We hag 4 of them and the hired help used the other 2. Well, I would use a large disk while my brother had a 6 bottom plow. We did great together. This was southern Illinois. I kinda know what you are doing and love it but you farm more acreage than we did. After college I went on to be an accountant. Oh well. Love watching your videos. A little too much about myself but you get the picture why we watch you. The farm brings back a lot of fine memories working with our local John Deere dealer, my Dad and Uncle. My brother was in the Air Force and was sent to Vietnam. My Dad was a World War II veteran. BY.

A few months ago you mentioned having cramps at night and I suggested you get potassium gluconate and magnesium chloride and your cramps would go away. You got the fancy schmancy powdered drink mix instead. What ever works for you. 20% of all dogs of every denomination get arthritis. You can give dogs glocosamine chondrointin just like the stuff I take and it helps lubricate things and take some of the pain away. The only effect it's had on me is I tend to bark when there's a full moon sometimes but other than that, I'm fine. Check with your vet to see how much to give her and tell Didge I said "Hi".

You can pre fill the filters, just do it from the outside and try not to get any through the center hole. That way it is filtered and it's full. I'm not sure you could do that with the engine oil on that one with that deep dished center. It is a slow process though.

always always always prefill fuel filters. unless you really like the idea of buying a new fuel pump for your equipment/semi. Yes most pieces of equipment have electric lift pumps but those are not always the greatest at filling the filters from a filter change. they are designed to provide that initial startup pressure to the high pressure pump is all. if you start your tractor/semi and hear chirping sounds that is your fuel pump running dry which means metal shavings in fuel which means injectors eating not fuel. gets very expensive very quickly. considering a 6 pack on a detroit engine is north of $10k and a pump is another 5k worth the 30seconds to prefill your fuel filter.

@@MillennialFarmer idk if it's a privacy thing or not, but If you'd be able to put a date stamp on the videos that would be awesome. Or at least in the video description

Crazy to watch this video and see that the fields aren't ready yet, but around me we already have people combining the bean fields.

Around my area in SC we start corn in August-Sept. Start early beans in late September and late beans usually start in late Oct-Nov.

Yep we started yesterday on our beans down in Bama. We also planted way earlier than Zach since we’re in a warmer climate

While I do enjoy the farming content provided here, sometimes I watch just to check in on the dogs. 😁

With all that software on the John Deere, surely they give you a machinery log so you can note oil/filter changes against actual engine hours?

It does service alerts if you set it up with when you want to be reminded.

Fill the fuel filters with SeaFoam. Keep the air out and clean the injectors all in one.

You need some oil absorbing pads !!
Also put a kiddy pool under the pails that way if you miss the pails it goes in the pool not the floor!!
