Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Zack, it's really good to see your dad in your videos more than usual. Much like Welkers, Fast Ag, Browns, etc., the presence and involvement of the older generation (also mine) adds the element of wisdom and experience. Something a country with such a small percentage of its population even involved with agriculture needs desperately. Just think what Onyx is soaking up each day he works with you, your dad and Jim.

I smiled when Zach mentioned a thresher. I'm 73 and one of my oldest memories is a threshing machine driven by a big belt from a traction engine. They were situated in our farm yard, which seems like an inefficient workflow looking back on it. I would have been about five years old, so 68 years ago.

I guess washing the windows is one thing technology can't do yet! I remember my first attempt at unloading on the go and I crushed the auger pipe on our old Massey Super 27. I think I was about 13 at the time and my Dad didn't even yell at me but I was so embarrassed. That would have been about 1955 or 56.

A couple of things with your diesel pump. First, if you’re not using a high flow pump and larger nozzle and secondly change your fuel filter regularly.

Which of us farm kids does not remember the first time that his/her dad/mom let him/her drive a tractor ALL BY HIMSELF/HERSELF? For me, I was 5 years old on a Ford 900. Dad instructed me before he turned me loose: "When you get by the barn, just shut the key off." It was a trip of about maybe 60 yards long, with one gentle curve. The Ford 900 was pulling a wooden haystack, after Dad had pitched off a jag of hay for our herd of 40 Hereford Momma cows. I think that Dad walked just off to the side and slightly behind the tractor the whole way. I was ON TOP OF THE WORLD!

I was never happier than when we ditched our grain head for a row-crop head 30 inches on center ridge tilling.

It's amazing on how much technology has been given in the Agricultural world like the tractor being in sink with the combine, I think Oynx will fit right in since the younger generation are so computer literate and everything they do nowadays is on the computer.
Oynx will be a great asset to your operation in the coming years.
