      @@Rimrock300 You Americans sure love to shit on those brands but do you people realize that the German brands are usually right up there at the top of reliability statistics in Europe? Like within single digit percentage points behind "ultra reliable" brands like Toyota. Over here in Europe, most of those brands are seen as reliable while also being on the cutting edge of technology and luxury. Meanwhile stuff like Ford is seen like garbage lagging behind half a decade old tech while running the world's cheapest feeling plastics in the interior.

    Great to see the US is now also a market of Fendt. I grew up with Fendt tractors around me on our farm: Farmer 2DE (35 hp, 25 mph), Fendt GT 231 (32 hp, shovel, carrier box) and later on the Farmer 104 S (famous Turbomatic). These where quite popular here in South Germany (Alps Mountain chain) in the 60'ies and 70'ies. My brother now is working with an Vario 417 (I believe) and a John Deere as well as a Farmer 307 LSA (Turbomatic). This is a small farm (greenland and cows for milk and meat). The 1050 I see quite often in street building applications as transport machines. We live just 60 km away from the Fendt head quarter, some of my colleagues are working there. It's amazing to see thes tractors in the US, as John Deere has a long history and good reputation there.

    The Fendts are just amazing. We use them in western europe a lot. The 700’s are super popular because of the power from a smaller tractor. And they work perfectly on the smaller roads and in cities (although the 500’s and 300’s are used mostly in bigger cities). The 1000 series are very rare in my area because of the size. They are mainly used for forestry up here

    After 34 years of running CaseIH the Fendt dealer convinced us to try a Fendt rent-free for 6 months and we bought an 828 for haying, mowing, and rockpicking. We won't go back to any other than Fendt. They have the best CVT out there. Our 310 CaseIH Magnum has no issues, it's just that the CVT transmission is noisy. John Deer's IVT means I vanna be a transmission. I'll say this we put on 13000 hours on our CaseIH Magnum 240 with a power shift and all we replaced was the fuel pump when the hydraulics got weak we traded it in.

    • @karlbach2823
      @karlbach2823 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I hope your expectations of reliability for your 828 are not too high! These tractors have massive problems with the Deutz engine here in Germany. There isn't a single 828 that hasn't been in the workshop because of the engine. The 800 series is no longer being built, the current successor is the 728 and this has an Agco-Sisu engine! You write that Fendt has the best CVT transmission, but after more than 20 years Fendt has managed to make the driving ranges switch automatically, CASE IH has been able to do this since 1999! There are also transmission failures on Fendts after less than 5000 hours. Although I'm German, I'll stick with CASE IH.

We have an EXTREMELY small window for harvest and these large machines afford the farmers time and efficiency because weather does not always cooperate. Here in Germany Fendt and Deere are pretty equal in terms of price. Case and Deere are a bit cheaper at first, but once you configure a nicely equipped tractor, they start to meet up on the same price level.

    All def systems are variable rate. The upstream NOx sensor is used to meter DEF so the NOx level is reduced. Too much or too little DEF and the reaction is NOx catalyst doesn't work.

      I've been tractor shopping lately and I find myself in agreement, these narrow tires are even a thing on a lot of US utility tractors where fitting in rows really aren't a concern, and they give you no wide options

    Not sure why they call it is a CTV transmission but it is not it is a Vario lot deferent then CTV transmission 🤷‍♂️ or can someone explain that to me because we drive Fendt for 23 years and it is always ben a Vario transmission

    • @melvd3484
      @melvd3484 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Vario is only the name Fendt uses for their transmissions. CVT or Continuously Variable Transmission is the technical description and the competition also has such transmissions. But But both of Fendt's transmissions are technical different to others.

    • @fazeobama8872
      @fazeobama8872 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the fendt operates like a cvt but the underpinnings are part hydraulic, part gear driven power which is why it has a higher efficiency than pure hydraulic drives

    • @jrf1999
      @jrf1999 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most all of the larger HP tractor manufactures use a similar hydro over ring gear/planetary system with 2 or 4 ranges. Each has their own "name" for their system. The key in design is to increase their efficiency from previous designs to compete with the efficiency of a power shift transmission.
