The headlands always get so compacted we don’t leave them till last. We do the headlands first. Then the field. And after that do the headlands again to really make sure there’s no compaction and it really seems to help the overall yields break everything up thoroughly. because in the past we can really tell the headlands we too compacted and the yield was always crappy there
Seriously high entertainment value today. I appreciate your sense of humor - particularly in the last 2 weeks. You’re on form! Here’s to the next million subscribers
I can see how much your dad loves running that combine. Think about when he started and how far machinery has come today. It's amazing how generations of both men and machine have advanced together. Pretty rare the deal you have.
Your truck overheating. Check to see if the heater is blowing warm enough air when truck is warmed up. If it doesn't seem good enough, probably the sign of bad thermostat. That or bad circulation of coolant in system somewhere maybe a bad or worn out water pump
I actually had a water pump failure where the shaft connecting the drive pulley to the water turbine sheared. Very difficult to diagnose even when removed from the engine. You could turn the pulley & the turbine on the water side would turn too. It was only when you held either end & then tried to rotate it that the broken shaft revealed itself. After fitting a new pump everything went back to working normally. Of course before this happened a main dealer fitted a new plastic header tank & checked the sensors & wiring for what I thought was too expensive & didn't cure the overheating problem. I'd definitely check those drive clutches & remove the water pump for a better examination as it sounds like you've already checked out the usual issues. It is very satisfying when you find & fix an issue even the 'professionals' failed to mend. 😀
I had a truck that over heated when all of the levels were good, it turned out to be the cylinoid that turned the fan on was going bad, it was also a mack. Not a kenworth
Good morning. We had a tractor that would start to overheat. It had a bad to replace the thermostat in it. All good now. God bless you and your family!
Easy to do with a saucepan of water on your cooker at home. As you heat the water to a boil you can see if the mechanism is opening & closing correctly when cooled down. Plus, you will be get the added bonus of a happy wife as I've found women tend to love it when you carry out any mechanical maintenance in their kitchens.🤩😂🤣😂🤩
Thanks for the busy harvest video. You are moving right along with the corn harvest. In this video everything was running good and the only breakdown was one of the diggers on the tillage machine. That was a huge rock that Jim dug up with the tillage machine. Wow. Too heavy for a person to lift. Good to see Jim doing so well. He does real good with the tillage machine. Hang in there Jim. You take care of yourself. The dryer has not run as much with dry corn out of the field. That saves on the budget. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Love seeing the hunting aspect of your videos people don’t realize hunting is also part of farming. If you don’t manage the wildlife they got out of control and will/can reek havoc on crops
Not only crop damage they often put holes grain bags & can carry diseases. Over population leads to fighting & injuries ending up with starvation. Wild animals can interfere with people's pets & cause traffic accidents & vehicle damage. The list goes on & on, a farmer who doesn't take care of the wildlife on his land doesn't deserve to farm the land in my opinion. 😉
When those birds flew over I thought sure you were going to say "LOOK, there's Steven Seagul, checking out the area for a new movie!!" or something like that.
Check the end and bottom of your big shanks on your ripper. When you put the tips on there they should be solid. The bottoms get wore during tillage. Slide the tips on if you can slide it on and you have half a bolt hole of play then you need to have them built up. That’s how they break bolts and fall of.
I enjoy your videos very much. I live in Chico ca and get more joy from watching you farm. Lots of corn an nuts grown here but I have learned more from watching you about farming then talking to my local folks. 😮
Zach have told you many times, you are one crazy dude! You were in rare form in this video with one liners, rocket geologist etc. I literally laughed out loud when you mimicked some jackass talking about picking up rocks by hand when you're sitting beside one the size of a refrigerator. Keep'em coming my friend! Murfreesboro, TN
Truck overheat issue might be just a sticking thermostat. If it's just intermittent starting out, thats a good sign of a sticking thermostat, simple and easy to replace.
I get my new tiller plow for my big horse tractor in a week or so got a great price on it from a local dealer Hope y’all are having a wonderful blessed day!
Grandpa has a big rock in his front yard he pulled home with his big ac 7030 with duals. Its only half of that rock too! The other half is still buried in the field bc they kept digging and it just never ended
2:45 she is clearly trained well to do the safety circle to verify there are no pets or kids under or around the vehicle before taking off. Corporate would be proud.
The thermostat is sticking intermittently. Running the system dow will cook the thermostat and it will faill. Eventually it will stick closed. Or open.
We just had an overheating problem. The coolant filter was gone n the radiator was plugged. Trouble is it’s not been tested yet. Can’t harvest because of the rain
1:35 maybe the Thermostat of the Trucks Engine Not opening? That would lead to overhaeting, as the „Small“ Cooling circuit avoids the Radiators to quickly Heat the Engine. Maybe that’s the root cause for the overheating?
Call Pittsburg power in Saxon burg Pennsylvania, they have a radiator that will work on your overheating issue , your cooling fins might be squished and not getting the cooling , look at the charge air cooler and air conditioning condenser
Those spade ripper blades are no joke. we had those on a 2100 ripper and never really had a tractor to pull all 5 blades. even doing 3 was no joke with a 195 hp tractor (that was a huge tractor for us =p)
If you intend to pull trees in ditch out. Call 411 first. I had a few trees. I was going to pull over. I had tile company to do small Jon. They suggested I have 411 check when they checked tile job 1000 feet away. Yes fiber optic under tree. If tree damages not my fault. So tree gets cut. Then cut as low as practical, then gravel over it.
I don't have a pit. Fields within a mile of bin I drive grain cart, dump in gravity box on auger to bin. Call it my redneck pit. My tillage is stalled. Ground is like rock. Busted chisel plow. *minor damage* but constant tripping. Sounds like an old typewriter.
So what Boom Sick did Onyx get? I grew up with a Remington 1100 12 gauge. It was a great shotgun and still is. I still have it in my gun cabinet that my dad and I built.
It’s so good to see Jim fit as a fiddle, moving around like a twenty year old. Anna circles to reconnoiter the area and protect you from predators. Good video MFer.
Anna is just circling the ranger doing a pre trip inspection before climbing in!
That’s funny right there! I don’t care who you are! 😂. Zack needs to teach her how to check the oil.
Zach should have known as many as he has done
Seagulls= dump chickens!
@@rickbottoms7838 also have to teach how to blow the filters with air 😅
Anna is Cornfused
Glad to see and have Jim back looking happy and healthy❤
Always so glad when a new millennial farmer comes out!!! Day just got so much better!

Ana is a German Shepard so she has to do a full 360 degree sweep of the vehicle before deeming it safe for the occupants she is in charge of.
She has to make sure none of the cats stashed catnip in her ride. She ain't going back to the pound for no one.

Check the thermostat or the water pump.
She barks before you start a tractor, and circles the gator before she gets in, she's the safety officer. Thanks for the vid.

Best supporting actor Jim brings the role to life.

I honestly love this channel.

Jim just found Mount Rushmore under the corn field.

I loved that whole joke. But I really did pick rocks by hand when I was a kid. I don't know how they grow so fast though 🤔
You gotta take Miss Becky to dinner since she does such a fine job with the editing!

Maybe a stuck thermostat causing the overheating ?

Anna needs to check all of the tires before it's okay to ride in the vehicle. You check the tires on your trucks too. That's the reason.

I'm far from being a mechanic, but I'd guess it's the viscous fan clutch on your truck, causing it to overheat.

Find any ancient artifacts in all the rocks? Runestones?
hope the Pete doesnt have a blown head gasket that would cause compression to leak into the coolant system making it look like its overheated
