Good for building absolute pressing strength in the mid-portion and to a lesser extend the bottom of your bench (there's one at a gym I train at and it uses a lot of pec compared to a full ROM straight bar bench). I'd imagine how well it carries over to your bench would depend on 1) where in the lift you miss and 2) whether or not stability is an issue

I guess lever arms will do the same thing
But even those are not available at every gym
