    I will say that I disagree with using Cammy to learn this first unless you already play Cammy specifically because of her walk speed. Learning with Cammy rather than your main could really screw up muscle memory if you play a character with a considerably slower walkspeed. Other than that, this video is absolutely incredible!

    I just found your channel and have been running through your SF6 videos. Can't believe how helpful they've been! I added a few things to your dummy settings. I turned on all 5 of the reversals: 3 set to throw at 7f, and 2 set to do nothing. This gives me more chances to practice against the throw and helps to catch me off guard since the do nothing happens less often. I also set the dummy to always block and immediate drive reversal counter (0f). That way, I can practice punish combos. If I drop the combo (or miss the shimmy and hit when the dummy is in Do Nothing), I get punished. It doesn't actually affect the practice, but mentally seeing myself get punished makes me try harder.
    Looking forward to using your other training mode practices!

    Great stuff as always! Keep it up!
    Had a question between different games, in the context of sf6 it looks like shimmys will beat both reversals and throw tech but in KOFXV, shimmys will beat throw tech and lose to reversals.
    Is this because of the fact that KOF doesn't have a throw whiff animation? Because my understanding was you can only punish a KOF throw by using a low attack and using a low attack would leave you open for an invincible reversals

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is tricky because the way pressure works in XV is different from past KOF games because throws beat meaty attacks. Shimmy will still beat reversals in KOF XV but you need to hit the opponent standing outside of throw range in order to beat a throw attempt because there is no throw whiff animation

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you mean in the corner? If you do throw and they jump, you can DP them on reaction or drive rush and anti air on reaction. Or, if you do a meaty attack it will stop them from jumping (it will hit)

    • @VivalaG

    i hope to reach daimond man, was stuck in ultra gold in SFV because of bad netcode or whatever. matching me with same 4-5 people who already got used to my play style and it was boring. i unintslled so many times and reinstalled just to find similar players. funny they all stayed the same rank ( I only played casual )

    I'm so confused, I mean the video is really great I love your content it's easy to understand what you explain!
    But I don't know when to use what technique. If I'm trapped in a corner, the "guessing game" begins and my options seem to be (after a knockdown, waking up):
    Opponent attacks low, so I crouch block.
    Overhead or jump attack, standing block.
    And then these two new techs where you opponent can either:
    Throw, countered by delayed throw tech?
    But they can also fake throw (shimmy) and then the whole guessing game restarts??

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A delayed throw will beat BOTH throw and attacks from your opponent.
      You understood correctly, a shimmy will counter delay throw and resets the guessing game.
      Getting knocked down in the corner is the worst place to be in sf6 and the game heavily rewards the attacker.

  • @TheShapingSickness

    2:20 isn't it better to forward jump? It ensures your buttons will leave you closer to the enemy, preventing combo drops

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends, but if the opponent uses a wake-up move with forward momentum you could end up cornering yourself with a forward jump!

    If you arent doing this with a character with the least walk speed this can be deceiving. Cammy was literally made to shimmy. Great vid otherwise

  • @Tyler-hk4wo
    @Tyler-hk4wo ปีที่แล้ว

    How to shimmy with guile? I feel like I have to always be holding down back to keep booms and flash kicks charged. I feel like cancelling that for a shimmy is a step backwards.

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a good question! I just started playing guile two days ago so good timing haha. Guile’s main throw whiff punish is st HP, which is a MASSIVE +14 on punish counter. Start to charge a flash kick right after you push HP and then you can link into cr mp or d/f HK and you will be able to do a flash kick after OR do another st HP into drive rush → st HK.
      Another option is HP (punish counter) into st HK → any super

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 7 frame delay is to replicate a delay tech, which is what a shimmy counters.
      If you don’t know what delay tech is check my other video out SF6 Guide: improve your defense with delayed throw tech! (Street Fighter 6 tutorial)

      No, command grabs have much further ranges than regular throws. You’ll have to either neutral jump or backdash to punish their command grab (this is a read, not a reaction!)

    Step one is actually fight people that play defense; coming from NRS games I cannot believe how often people are just waking up buttons, Ex DPs, Dr Impacts. Can’t condition people either no matter how many times I punish. Hoping it’s just a new-game new-players situation.

    • @Chris_F
