    Bro these videos are sooooooo gooood. I especially love that you started this by saying that if your opponent is just jumping around and neutral skipping like a madman then don't bother with footsies. So much FGC content is for high level play and it is confusing to beginner-intermediate. In SF6, because of DI and DR, you only start to see meaningful neutral/footsies around platinum 4. Walk down still important against neutral skip though, so great that it's the first video in this series.

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Glad you like them! There’s a lot of neutral skip in this game, but you still need to use the basics of footsies in many situations too. Thanks for leaving a comment!

    This and element no.1 of the footsies handbook work together well. Good stuff

    On top of that, once both players know how to play footsies the game gets a whole lot better and more fun to play than just waiting to punish the opponent for doing random things in neutral like spamming fireballs, jumping non stop, etc

    This video took me from continually being booted out of platinum to hitting platinum 2 for the first time ever. I’ve been stuck for MONTHS at that level. I switched to leverless, watched 50 videos, and even tried switching to a new character, only to again get stuck at the same level. I was continually backing up and waiting for my opponent to make a move. Walking forward changed my game FOREVER! Thank you so much for the concise EXCELLENT content.

      @@Chris_F Honest Feedback: I'm good for any kind of tutorial, whether it's a complete combo guide, an hours long lecture, Pools start-to-finish or short, conceptual guides, I'll watch it if I find value.
      But here's what I like about your short vids. I placed a few weeks ago as Silver 5 (and haven't played online since. Stupid jitters!), so I commonly find myself in that awkward "I know what I don't know" phase. I have a general idea of what things like footsies, meaties and shimmies are, but how and WHY to properly execute is where I get hazy. So helping me to understand the why's and what-to-look-out-fors is HUUUUUUGE in my world.
      Thank-you much! Your content is great, and you're on the right track!

    Solid info, & concise.
    Walk & block's a familiar concept, but I like the concept of gaining info, & being ready for 1) attack, 2) DI, or 3) jump.
    Also, moving back for a possible whiff punish. Thanks.

    Gave you a like and subscribe. Been playing at a high level since SF4, but these small tip videos are things overlooked when you get into a match so it's good to get a refresher AND how to practice them! Also, I love that you mention if people are jumping around and you aren't properly anti-airing, you need to calm down and learn to just punish them first before trying to work in footsies!

    I'm plat 4 omw to diamond 1 (did not play ranked for a few times).
    I been playing many diamonds in Battle Hub and so far, I have one big big struggle.
    People moving backward.
    Some characters cause me more pain than others.
    One especially painful to me today was a Dee Jay.
    He was walking backward almost the whole neutral game, impossible for my Modern Juri to reach his toes. I had to hard commit to get closer.
    Indeed, he would end up by cornering himself... But he was just doing some offensive moves enough to keep my mental stack up and being worried to anything.
    Everytime he was trying anything, he was immediatly getting in range because I was the one trying to move forward.
    I been trying to bait him, but it was not working much. Fireballs, max range slides, many safe moves, his kick positive on block with a... quite interesting range, and all his options that are safe, it was causing me a lot of troubles.
    The only way to not be free hit was to stay full screen. And his drive rush is nuts too.
    He was litterally turning the table around just by walking backward, and that was really difficult to me.
    Do you have any hint ?
    I'm up for a personal call if you want to spend a few time with me. My Disord is IngeniusSoul. Feel free to add me, with pleasure.

    Im going through all of your neutral videos for sf6 however im a gran blue player. Is there anything you would add onto this video if this were a grab blue video instead outside of gaining meter while walking forward?
    I.e utilizing the block button while walking forward instead of crouch backing (dunno if this would even be that useful but id imagine?)

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would add that running forward is also an option in granblue but it carries risk when done in midrange bc afaik you can’t block frame 1 while running. I would suggest to keep spot dodge in mind as an option while running in case your opponent tried to stick out a fast long reach attack before you can block.
      Btw I will have a new granblue video up this week!

      @MacDibs 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Same here. I just kinda got back into fighting games this year. I started with mk1 and like it but I can see that sf6 is probably better in terms of depth and competitiveness and with how smooth the connection is. Tekken just doesn't inspire the way sf or mk does with the characters and level design. There just isn't a character that looks cool or fun to play.

  • @TekkLuthor
    @TekkLuthor 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    One thing I hate about these stages are the disconnect between the stage and the fighters. On that Jmaican stage, there would be a crowd taking photos, people betting, and reacting to all the moves but it's like they don't see the fight at all. Another complaint are the stages themselves, what happened to those stages where I can knock you into another section? Most stages should have something like that built in
