these drill videos are amazing!! i don't have that much time to play, so it's a little hard to actually explore training mode and figure out how to setup this stuff myself, but thanks to you, not only have i been practicing confirms, meaties and delayed techs much more easily, but i've also been able to get a little more creative with training settings, recordings, etc without losing too much playtime thanks
Happy to help! One of my main goals is teaching people how to train effectively, and it seems like you’ve gotten that from me which makes me SO happy! Thx for the kind comment
Honestly I'd recommend playing against level 7 and level 8 cpu, it helped me greatly. Level 7 is great for learning the character your playing and fair enough for a pretty challenging fight. Watch a high level player with the character their using and implement 1 tech, setup, or combo their doing at a time. Level 8 has been great for learning when not to press buttons. You can't out react the cpu. This has been important because i started winning consistently against the level 8 cpu, when i actually would let it play by staggering pressure. You avoid a lot of the cpu cheating, when you shimmy on Oki and look for a clean hit. Its important because in matches instead of endlessly rushing someone down on oki and trying to overwhelm them by not letting them play or forcing a Rock Paper Scissors with wakeup/ meaty/throw guessing game, You can delay button presses once you get your range/frame data in check. I catch so many players who have to do something if you leave a gap in pressure or you just shimmy to the appropriate range of the poke you want to use. A disjointed hit box is ugly with if you don't have a concept of it. That and just practicing the fundamentals. If you walk up and hit them you won neutral. If they walk up, protect your space and hit them you won neutral. Walk in and out of range of their best poke its usually a slower longer reaching move and you can whiff punish, you win neutral. Mix in neutral skips every once in a while to catch them slipping. Don't rely on neutral skips to open up your opponent. Stand right outside their best poke . I play kim and people will walk themselves right to the corner, even though my character has mediocre neutral. Learn which animations look deceptively slow, but are actually plus frames bonus if their unpopular characters. I play Kim and i catch so many people pressing when I have advantage. The fun is when both players know this and start responding correctly. Instead of getting salty you start to go nice.
Thanks Chris, these are great. Another for defense I think is super relevant for SF6's corner pressure is defending against pressure schmix. Defensive late tech / fuzzy jab / AA for players that have you in the corner and are doing a mix of strikes, throws, and nooches to bait your throw techs.
These are excellent drills. I've done the 2MK > DR confirm one on random block, going into lights on block or combo conversions on hit. I also have a drill set up that includes neutral jump and crosscut DP practice, but I should probably do it specifically for meaty throws like this as well. As usual, great stuff! All killer, no filler :)
I’m balancing sf6, Tekken and leverless guides and I do all the editing and thumbnails myself so I’m a bit bottlenecked by how much I can put out. My apologies but I’m trying my best!

@@Chris_F checking back in! the drills are kicking my ass, but I'm starting to improve my reaction timing. Got from silver 1 to gold 1 last night in one play sesh! I greatly appreciate your content. Thanks again!!
Awesome! I think I will definitely be using these videos to level up my game fast as Ryu as a new street fighter player and competitive FG player so thanks @Chris_F
@@Chris_F sorry dude! I'm in the UK so I was asleep haha. I've not really played much ranked slowly building up that confidence. My issues are vastly more basic right now, input errors is the major one. Can't really solve that with quick fixes. I'm just trying to do 30-40m training each night to build that up with Luke. I have it decently with Cammy, but I've not really entered ranked with her. I play mostly against a plat/diamond friend, so I expect I'll rank up pretty quick this weekend. I'll Chuck you my CFN next week once I've managed to get a few more games in!
@@Chris_F Hey, sorry been ill for a couple days. Managed to get my Luke to Gold and Cammy to G4/G5 I think. Focusing Cammy atm. MY CFN should actually be ColonelVirus (i think). I had an absolutely terrible game against a Ryu... wanted to uninstall lol

great content without wasting time, thanks. I suppose the fuzzy jab is an option against light strings into throw attempts as well. People do that against me and I'm trying to space the lights out more to catch them. Is that the right idea?
Hi! For drill 5 I've got a question about an alternate situation? If you set one recording to perform 2MP then 2LP. And another to perform 2MP then another 2MP. Is there any delay timing of your fuzzy jab that can deal with both? Or do you have to commit to: Delay jab which blocks the first recording, but gets counterhit by their medium in the second recording Or Instant jab which gets frametrapped and counterhit by their light for the first recording, but counterhit interrupts their medium in the second recording? TLDR: Is there a delay fuzzy jab timing that can beat both 2MP 2LP, and 2MP 2MP?
Working on these drills now. What's the point of the crouching short jab in the first drill? Should the throw beat it because I "lose" to that move a lot.
thx for another great vid chris. Can you tell me something. . .i always though throw beats cr light punch after wake up. But i just played this dude who mashed cr.lp and everytime it beat my throw. I SWEAR in training this never happens. I was luke, he was ryu, not sure if that makes a diff but =/
I wonder, what's the reasoning for trying to counterhit a throw tech rather than a full shimmy into a full PC combo on reaction? Is it to be less vulnerable to mashing on defense? Is it to try to also discourage jumping out of the corner?
Many reasons, most due to risk-reward. Shimmy loses to wakeup low into DR which might not KO you, but can lead to a momentum shift. This is one instance where frame trapping can be safer than a shimmy attempt
Been doing some training despite the Capcom ID link error screen rpeventing me from ever getting online. Maybe someday, like other games. I'd never guess on these drills. Only did the presets. Maybe I can set them up & try them. 5th looks trickiest to set up & do. Thanks.

p.s. these videos are great lol
Only if the 2MP isn’t plus on block - Luke’s is +1 so you can’t fit a jab in
I've been doing #1 lately specifically to learn socd dp better.
Gonna be grinding all of these a lot. Not happy with some of my reactions.
Glad I could help! If you have questions feel free to ask anytime

The cr lp is to make sure you got your meaty throw timing on point

Could be online lag affecting your timing? Otherwise, a perfectly timed meaty throw will beat wakeup buttons
