This was my first pilates workout, i usually did hiit's and weight workouts, after which felt like I was doing these workouts not because I want to be healthy, but because I am chasing beauty standards, it is very tiring and I decided to change my routine to stay active but with less intensity, and as it turned out, I really liked Pilates! I really liked how you explained each step and taught how to breathe, because I often forget about breathing, I felt many muscles and for the first time in a long time I feel more positive and cheerful than tired with just the desire to lie down, thank you very much for your work.

same thing with me going to the gym, pilates and yoga make me feel more confident in my body and i actually enjoy the classes instead of worrying about what i look like the whole time. i also did a few hot yoga classes in person and i love the community

I also opted for Pilates over resistance training! Not to say weights are a bad thing, they are very much a good thing. But like you said, i found myself doing it because of beauty standards and it became exhausting.

You sound just like me!!! This is why I think Pilates may be a good thing for me too to bring calmness every so often, as we do know how to push ourselves but may not (yet) be any good at actually being calm - while still feeling our beloved muscles which we’ve worked so hard to build.

To be honest I feel a little bit ashamed of myself for finding this workout hard after reading the comments but I know I got myself into a very bad deep hole after getting diagnosed with my thyroid diseases and gaining a lot of weight surely did noting good but here I am trying to get myself together I hope in the future It will be an easier beginner workout for me too until than I am going to practice and fight. Have a good day today and tomorrow everyone 🥰

I've done pilates off and on for 25 years to stay in shape and maintain mobility. But a few years ago I got into an unhealthy relationship, drifted away from a regular practice and began to succumb to the effects of perimenopause. Last May, I was the victim of an assault and suffered a stroke 4 months later. After months of depression and lethargy, I finally committed to taking up pilates again,. I tried an intermediate class and was immediately frustrated with the weakness and pain in my body and nearly gave up. This morning I tried Nicole's full body beginner class and was blown away with her clarity and attention to form (not an easy feat on a video). It is always healing to return to the basics and you can still get a great workout in, if you are truly focussed on perfecting form. I was really grateful to have found her series and will definitely continue!

WARNING: Do not do the "relaxing stretches" at the end of the video---they put you at great risk of severe knee damage if you aren't already a flexible person! The routine is good, just STOP at the 31:00 mark. True beginners should NOT do the stretches after that point.

    • @margxoxakou
      @margxoxakou 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

This is a beginner's routine from start to finish. There is no such thing as stretching for beginners or more advanced people. Stretching is the most essential part of the routine to avoid inflammation and soreness of the muscles after a workout and the REWARD for your body and mind. The only determining factor is one's own flexibility and common sense.

I’m 51 years old, and my daughter introduced me to this exercise, thinking, ‘Okay, I need to give this a shot,’ since nothing else has worked with other exercises I’ve tried. I’m telling you, on my first day, I did cry - sounds crazy, but I did. The second to the third day was the worst because I already felt the pain and soreness in my body, but I never gave up. Today is my 7th day, and I feel better; my body is already used to it. The best part? It really feels great now that I’m stretching my body like I haven’t done before! It’s awesome! Even my husband noticed that my tummy is getting smaller.😂 🥰 Thank you Nicole ! Muahhhhh!

Amazing! First lesson for me. I’m rehabbing from a bad hip injury 10 months ago. Physical therapy sessions ( 24 in total ) included the reformer toward the end. I graduated with certain exercises to continue with, and I opted for 8 private reformer classes which insurance wouldn’t pay for. $$$$$$$ … So here I am, so happy to have found this channel. Really nice pace, and clear instructions. Form is vital, so I’m thankful for having had solid foundation in my PT ‘journey’.. Thank You!!! I turn 70 in 4 months, so I really appreciate this

as someone who runs 10ks and does lots of strength training, this was quite easy, but i can see how this is a wonderful place to start for those who are just getting into fitness! don't let fitness people make you feel bad for starting. i started out obese, i'd never even ran a mile all the way through and i could barely run 30 seconds at a time. that being said, no matter where you start, and no matter how difficult others find it, just keep going and just keep trying, and you'll eventually reach your goals. what matters most is that you just get up and try each time, even when it feels difficult

Pilates is so incredibly underrated. Even this beginners class can be extremely difficult for someone who has been "fit" for many years. What a phenomenal class in truly teaching and prompting what real core control is. This slow-paced class is excellent for my journey in postpartum recovery. Beautiful. Thank you.

I'm very over weight, and your beginner videos are difficult for me, but not so difficult I get discouraged, and Thank you thank you thank you for repeating multiple times to keep muscles engaged. For a beginner, it's hard to focus on breathing, moving AND keep muscles engaged, but your reminders really make a difference!

I have been really sick and I was wasn't able to workout for two months. I used to workout every day and I used to be one of those people with six pack and real muscle. Now I find it hard to breathe as well because it was a lungs disease, not to mention that I have too much skin now too (I lost a lot of weight 😭) and my body form is bad. Your videos have been helping me out a lot these days and it feels good to have workout that does not feel like too much and also focuses on breathing 😊

Dear Nicole, I have been following your classes for 1 year and, thanks to you, I can now do longer and more intense sessions, but tonight, lacking motivation, I wanted to try this session for beginners.
It is really very well adapted for beginners, but also allows more advanced levels to do an easier exercise when we are tired. But, especially that makes us rediscover the fundamentals of the working postures by repositioning correctly the different parts of the body. It is true that we often tend, during a continuous effort or a challenge, to forget these basics... or to not listen the teacher's recommendations anymore... 🤭

It is so good to go back to basics, because sometimes we tend to think that we are advanced and we know it all, but we lose track of the right form of the exercises which could cause injuries. I'm having a lot of fun with this playlist for beginners! Thank you, Nicole!

Hi Nicole! I am a 22 med student who recently diagnosed with MS.(I know that does not concern you but I wanted to write my thoughts) I read a lot of information about ,which kind of workouts should I add in my daily basis and Pilates-yoga were my first option. This workout was really good and not very difficult for me as I haven’t done again Pilates (but I were dancing for 15 years , so balance and strength is my thing) but this video really helped me especially with the coordination thing between inspiration and expiration and the whole concept. So for sure I will see and do most of your videos. Thank you very much and keep going 💁🏼‍♀️ we need more calm and inspirational people like you

I used to dance four or five hours a day, would go on 11 mile mountain bike runs and was so fit. We would do probably an hour and a half of Pilates a day as warm ups and cool downs. I’d probably find this workout not nearly enough to be effective. After a few years off, Epstein barre infection, long covid and probably auto immune issues that no doctor has yet bothered to help me diagnose, I’m starting from below ground zero doing a walk and one workout a day to see if I get any relief. Sometimes getting up at all is hard and it was so hard getting through this video without getting upset about how hard it was for me and comparing my condition now to my past self. But after reading the comments I’ll keep trying, it’s nice to know I’m not alone! And the pace of the video was helpful. I was expecting to be rushing and destroyed by the end but the light and mindful tone helped me keep going.

I did this today and I loved it! I've worked out kind of incosistently for years and did a bunch of pilates style videos on YT without really learning how to do it properly. At first I thought doing only a few moves would be pointless but doing it with the right technique and focus on breathing made it a lot more effective. It was also great for a day like this where I have motivation but not a lot of energy :)

this is my first pilates exercise, i loved it! usually i lift weights and run to stay in shape, but i am quarantining right now so i am stuck inside my room all day. this was perfect to slow down and get some movement in. it was amazing how i was focusing on activating parts of my body i almost never think about. i was really feeling it at some moments LOL! i loved how intentional all the movement was and the emphasis on control. overall a very mindful and engaging exercise. i'm probably going to incorporate pilates into my routine now!
