How do update my gmail account. I set up an older client of my mine and they had a newer version of gmail. I could not find where to go and update my gmail account. Thanks Booker
I know im randomly asking but does someone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost my login password. I love any help you can offer me
@Frank Markus Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I've been using labels for years. I also use nested labels, some 3 or 4 levels deep. I also add multiple labels to many emails in case I forget - "Did I lable that finances, or did i label it bills or was it utilities" that way I know I can find archived emails easily. I also set up filters to automatically add labels so once I have read an email I can archive without manually adding a label. I wish Google would introduce being able to add multiple labels when setting up a filter. Good video as always Scott.
@@Simpletivity You can't beat gmail - nothing comes close. I'm also using keep more and more - once you get your head round keep it's very good and more powerful than it first looks.

Big fan of labels! I have labels for different activities I'm in (church, veterans, etc) that I've created filters for. Works great to isolate a particular activity, then I double label if needed with a "--HOT" red colored label. Inbox looks a bit like a carnival according top my wife, but it works for me.
Thanks for this video! I watched it earlier this year and it has made a difference in the way I handle emails. I've reached Inbox Zero several times and felt a lot more comfortable reviewing my email because of this.
Great help 👍🏻 to put asterisk in front. I had previously created labels for Call and for Add to calendar. Now the asterisk in the front to bring those important labels to the top!
It just occurred to me that I could be doing more with the calendar. Thanks for speaking loudly & clearly enough. This is one of the few youtube videos I can hear on my laptop. Most of the time I have to cast the video to my Roku TV. I may get an external speaker for this old Dell Inspiron.
@@Simpletivity turned out it really is effective, best setup so far. Emails in the inbox mean pending work for me, and seeing a long list is stressful. Esp. When many are there for follow ups only pushing the action required emails way down. I went from 30+ to just 12 and should get it down to 4 or 5 by end if next week if things go well. Thanks again, its awesome. :)
Thank you so much ! How I am better managing my Gmail is by watching Scott at Simpletivity TH-cam videos. I have actually deleted hundreds of email in the process or organizing and putting labels on.
Thank you so much, this video is really helpful. Most especially to beginners like me. I highly appreciate this and I really explored gmail more because of this. Thank you
Knowledgeable and a delivery that did not waste words. I was able to digest more about G-mail from this presentation than I did in the work force 20 years. Thank you.
This was such a beautiful video... I loved it. In fact, at some point I was just enjoying the flow of the teaching rather than teaching itself. Totally fun. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Scott. I'm learning a lot watching your videos. Thanks a lot> But somehow, I cannot edit the labels names anymore. Could it be probably due to a Gmail extension?
I'm a new subscriber, enjoy your helpful channel. I usually archive all my Gmail and have a ton of folders already dedicated to the senders. This method should help me clean up my mail even further. Thanks!
I use the labels to. The function of the labels are the same, but I use numbers instead of the asterisk. I use the priority inbox instead of the standard inbox. With the priority inbox I have 4 sections. 3 contains the labels and 1 is the inbox. So i can see if there are mails with labels without clicking the label.
You are an AMAZING Instructor you use precise and clear communication that is not wordy and easy to understand! Thank you so very much I am trying to start my new Virtual Assistant Business doing email management, data entry, scheduling and calendar management, and you shared extremely beneficial information on labeling and controlling your emails. Thank you so very much! I will be watching all of your videos keep them coming! :)
Another great video, Scott. Thank you. You use of labels looks promising so I set up the three you recommend and I color coded them as you have. I've used the snooze function. I also use Cloud HQ's notes in emails. I don't use archive enough but I'll make an effort to do so. With that and your recommended labels, I intend to do a better job keeping up to date with my Gmail.
Didn't see anyone mention this, nor did I see it in your video. Another way to get something out of the Inbox is to "Move" it via the "Move" icon and move it to a chosen label (such as "Complete"), or click the "x" on the Inbox label when you're in the email itself.
Is it possible to add the tab. I searched on the net and did not get a working solution. I am sure this tool of labels and snooze will help to boost productivity.
I am so glad I have found you. I enjoy how clear & consise you are with no hoopla. LOL I look forward to watching/learning more. One Question: Is there a way to set an alarm or reminder for those emails in your "waiting for a response" box?
You could "Snooze" them, which gives them a timed reminder by popping back up in your inbox at the day you specify. Or add it to Tasks, which does now allow you to specify a time on a certain day (when he made the video it did not, but now does).
I use diff color stars under one label-ex: label - Amazon , star related to a certain topic/issue & another color star for a diff topic/issue under the same Amazon label. I can quickly tell by star color the grouped issues.
Labels can be very helpful since they have actual text involved to describe them. But stars (and using different colors) can also be an advantage. You might want to use them for High Important messages since this would transend across multiple labels.
I think the *complete label should be in grey just like the colors of gmail so it won't stand out and grab the attention since there's nothing to be done about it other than possibly archive the email.
Great video! Do you know how to drag the labels into the sequence you want? I my labels are too low on the left column... I want them hire up and in sequence. It should be easy to rearrange them but it's not! Please help!!!
