i know Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
You can also apply a new filter tot previous mails. When you create the filter you can click the checkbox "also apply filter tot matching conversations"
This really helped me, since my inbox is going crazy with 1k+ emails and I'm trying to get a system in. Also the video itself was a big, big help @Simpletivity
Scott. Thank you. Hard to “filter out” which one I liked best. I immediately applied the newsletter (while you described it) as well as labels. Already made my inbox more manageable...thank you.
This deserves a million views with all the Gmail account users that don't know how to organize their mail. Glad I've been a subscriber ever since and just use the search button on your channel whenever I needed something done. Thank you and keep it up!
I appreciate seeing you include the "unsubscribe" filter trick, I've been doing this for years. I created a label called clutter to capture those emails.
This is such a great email to gain control of the emails. I have currently 6 email addresses and one is so out of control at over 55, 000 emails lol yep. The one I am working in my ministry now - I actually was able to utilized all of the filters above that you explained. This is so wonderful I feel not so overwhelmed now. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your help! I have to admit : had to force myself to watch because, as many of us probably, we think we know everything...so glad I was soo very wrong. I would never have thought about those micro font search items in the emails. You have enabled me to achieve actual inbox zero. The time savings is amazing- no longer going through like a robot and deleting spammy junky stuff. And I was only through half of your video. I will force myself to finish it :). Again, many thanks!!
Your videos have had a big impact on the way I organize myself. I implemented your ABC system for my bookmarks, Google docs and also Email. I also followed your advice regarding organizing Google Keep. The tricks in this video also come in handy. Really wanted to thank you. You're awesome.
Scott, your various tutorials on how to manage gmail are _really really helpful,_ and I've referred to them from time to time to refresh my memory on how to perform certain tasks. So, many thanks for these great uploads!!!
minus and brackets was new to me. And tip 3 is also handy. I sent myself quick reminders sometimes. Mostly when I'm remembering something important or I have a good idea while I'm in the train or bus. It's easy to have those all together. I also use the snooze for email a lot since I saw your video about that. So I'll be reminded at the right time! Awesome tips Scot.
We have downsized at my office and my responsibilities has expanded to different areas, right now I am getting e-mails and updates from three different positions (that now are compressed in one) so I have to completely change the way my inbox functions.. I think the filters can work well. That they skip my inbox and I open that folder when I am going to work with that area.
Thanks a ton for these tips! Really helped me organize my Gmail inbox which looked like a trash over the few years. It would be great if you could answer this question - I wanna apply the filter to all the mail currently in my Inbox to a label, however, I want the future emails from that sender to land in my inbox only, so that I can review it and then manually move it to the label. How do I do that?
Great tips as usual, Scott! BTW, I wish you would do a real review of Workflowy. You did do a "live" review but you really need to examine in much more detail and use your imagination on how to use it. It has become my "Mind Manager" after years of using Todoist, Google Tasks, Google Keep, etc. etc.
Nice video! Please, help me with a thing: If I put some words in the 'Has the words', it will filter the messages that has ALL the specific words or the ones that have just 1 or more of it?
The second filter makes life simple But I wanted the to do list mails always showing as pinned and should be listed on top before other emails not dependent on date
This is a great video with good information. However I would like to take it further. I get tons of SPAM emails every day. A lot of them have the same names but different addresses. I tried to put just the name in to create a filter but it doesn't seem to work. What should I be doing? I appreciate your help here.
Scott, why did you mention CNN as an example of incoming mail? I was so shocked! More to the point: I am not having much success, following your steps in filters 1 and 2. Possibly I want something to change NOW in my inbox, and the filters are, as you said, for FUTURE incoming e-mails. A nice day! As they say in South Africa: Lekker dag!
Great video Scott! Good way to introduce filters. Learn the minus sign. I think you should do a follow up. Because there is more to do. For example. You can add a plus sign (+) in your mailadres and filter on that. Example+newsletter@gmail and example@gmail will arrive in the same inbox. For your third tip. It's also possible to change your inbox. My inbox has 4 parts. The first 3 has specific labels. The last one is my inbox. Keep up the good work! Love watching your videos :)
Scott, since this pandemic has struck I have notice dozens of spam email showing up in my inbox. All of them are coming from the Sweden (.se) domain. In the gmail filters can I filter out all email sent from the (.se) domain? I have never done business with anyone in Sweden and probably never will. So in the from box can I just put *.se to have all of them immediately deleted and sent to trash?
Hello, Can you please tell me how I can remove emails from a designated label preceding a certain date? For example: under a Label called: Automotive Related I would like to delete all emails prior to 2022/01/01. Is there a way I can use a filter to accomplish this? Many thanks in advance!
My Filter/labels list is out of control and I am trying to organize it. Is there anyway I can put all the filtered emails I no longer want to see but want to keep into one label (i case I have to do an archive search) and then drag and place the ones I want to see up towards the top so I do not have to scroll up and down to see the filter/labels (basically organize it)
thanks so much! can you help me, please? Is it possible to create a filter with several email addresses with different domains? Does the operator OR works for that? Do i need to put every email in brackets? Thank you! Also If I want to add a filter with both FROM and TO (with the same email address) is it possible? I just can't find video explaining this )

missed a very important item, that you skimmed over ... how do you filter MULTIPLE addresses (typically domains) in one filter. Use your example, NEWSLETTER. I have more than one newsletter I want to filter. I don't want to create individual filters for each newsletter. I want use THIS filter and add/delete as I go. I've read you use () with the OR operator or {} but have not been able to make it work

As 99.9% of YT you didn‘t explain how the filter works on existing emails! You explained only how to filter and label NEW incoming mails. BUT how the hell can we „move“ all existing emails from Incoming label to another? Most email programs do this easily. Filter the email and than move them to specific folder.

Thanks, James. I hope you enjoy applying this to your own filters.

These are great ideas, but how do I show all labels in the left sidebar? Also, how do I move the labels I created so they appear just after inbox?
While creating a filter, can you put multiple words, say in the "has the words" section in the filter?
would like to know as well

How do you move sent emails into a label?
Hi, I am trying to delete a filter some existing emails. How is that done?
Click on Settings and then select Filters to edit or remove.
you should also guide, how to apply rule, I mean the bunch of emails which I already got - how to send it in specific folder :(
I created labels, but i am not getting notification when an email comes to that particular label how to enable the notifications on macbook
How to organize filters, alphabetically or by date or .... ?
If I create a label and send inbox email to that label how do I get the inbox email to delete?
How can I apply different colors to my email list in my inbox?
so if you chose delete then the mail from this address will never show up?
You need to preface this with the disclaimer that these tips only work with the on-line version of Gmail, not with any other versions.
