- Hey guys! In this video, I will show you how to set up your capture card (in my case Elgato HD60 Pro) on OBS and how to fix the issue where you cannot hear game audio from OBS! I use PS4 but this will work on any console!

I have been looking for a fix for this for literal Years. FINALLY. Thank you so much. Guys, this is an ENTIRE tutorial for capturing using OBS to capture PS4. If you're looking for the fix to hear your audio only, the last 2 minutes is all you need. But this is a fantastic video, and I feel it's worth a full watch if you're having any issues.

this is great, i got the audio working now from my switch, but now how can I hear the audio myself, everytime i plug my headphones into the audiojack on the switch the audio cuts away from OBS. anyone know?
The Switch automatically stops sending audio through HDMI if you pug in headphones to its jack. You can bypass this by plugging in headphones to your monitor instead, but otherwise that's just how the Switch has been made.

You want to set it to Monitor and Output, not monitor only. The instructions he gives in the video will only let you hear the sound, but it won’t record the sound when actually recording. You want Monitor and Output

THIS SOLVED ALL OF MY ISSUES! THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH FOR THIS! I'm on an Xbox Series X and I couldn't figure this out...almost returned my Elgato HD 60s+ because for the life of my I couldn't figure anything else..the party chats weren't even recording. Just this little fix made everything work. And yes this still works in 2022. I'm running this on my MacBook Pro as well! I cannot thank you enough!
Spent a few days sorting everything out, finally was able to translate your obs info to the streamlabs settings (monitor and output cog by the mixer not the individual audios) and that fixed it! Knew it had to be something in the OBS software as Elgato's software was running perfectly. Cheers!!!

I still can’t hear game audio thru my headset. I have the audio output set to tv or av amplifier so that the elgato can get game sound. But my headset still doesn’t get audio

you set your headphone as the default device on your computer and also on obs? then try this: go to Elgato on sources tab, go to setting, scroll down to "use custom audio device" check it it, then select elgato device! hope this help!

True Incendio I went to the video capture card option instead of game capture card. That’s how it worked for me.

One change I noticed is my mic audio isn't as loud as it was. Anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions?
Oh wow, I know this video is a year and a half old, but it helped me! Basically, wanting to play on my TV with the stream on the PC and my headset and mic connected. I tried one option (which in all honesty should have worked but didn't) and there was a split second lag on the game audio which only happened with that solution. This one, perfect! it is perfectly in sync and I can mess with my OBS settings to get a balance. For the record, I don't have the Elagato tool installed, because I wanted to use OBS exclusively and this still worked fine. Also, I didn't have the Pro option show on my drop down (not sure why because it is a Pro) and it's still exactly the result I wanted. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

Im on my sisters pc right now setting things up for her nintendo switch streaming. I couldnt figure out why there was no audio coming through obs but man this video was a life saver and stress reliever. Appreciate this video ! Oh and you were right about the difference in the source with the latency differnce, that helped too !

Thank you, I don't know what happened but suddenly when I opened OBS today there was no sound in windows from elgato but there was last night, no idea how it got disabled.

What I wanna know is if I can turn down the audio the stream hears & the audio I hear.
I usually turn down my gameplay audio 18 db for the stream & play at full blast in my headset. Basically do they can hear me clearly over the game.

I just want you to know that, you are the best for this. Been trying to fix this issues for weeks and there is not youtube video for it!
So I have a problem where the only way I can have the audio is making it go through “waveout” which makes the audio go thru desktop audio. So now I can’t balance anything that I use on my pc since everything is going thru one source which is desktop audio. How do I make the elgato capture audio go thru elgato sound capture as a separate source instead of it going thru desktop audio. Idk if anything I said makes sense to you but hopefully it does. Thx in advance
xdWill well you can try this. trying adding elgato as an an audio input device in the scene and then if it pops up in the mixer click into the little mixer options menu where go in the video and set it so that the desktop audio is on track 1 and the elgato is on track 2. In the setting menu there’s an option for how many audio recording tracks you want, so in this case you’d pick 2. I don’t know if this answers your questions but I tried
