No Audio from El Gato HD60 S+ to my PC (XBox Series X) - I found the Fix

- Capture HDMI/USB Connections:
HDMI Out: El Gato HD60 S+ to Monitor (TV or separate Monitor.
HDMI In: Xbox to El Gato HD60 S+
USB C 3.0: El Gato HD60 S+ to PC
4K Capture Utility:
Mic: Select Game Capture Card HD60 S+
Device - Audio Input: HDMI Audio (Remember the XBox is connected to the HD60 S+ Capture card with an HDMI).
Leave the rest of the setting as factory defaults.
**REMEMBER**
You cannot run El Gato Sound Capture Software with El Gato HD60 S+(Not compatible).
Xbox Series X Audio Settings:
HDMI Audio - Stereo Uncompressed
PC Audio Settings:
PC Windows 10 Audio Settings:
Sounds
Sound Settings
Open Volume Mixer: Make sure volume is not muted
Make Sure El Gato Game Capture Card is connected to a USB 3.0 Port (Blue).

System Information: Some reasons may be related to the USB 3 controller that the device is connected to. To find out what controller your Windows 10 system is using, simply type msinfo into the Windows Search, then open the System Information App.
If you have an older system that still uses a Via USB 3 controller, and it does say (Microsoft) behind the Controller, that means the Microsoft driver is installed.
In this case, please install the driver from the Link below and then restart your computer: gc-updates.elgato.com/windows...

this was actually helping me for a lil bit then my friend mentioned the sound thingy.. i had it set to my headset n not the tv lmaoo.. ended up getting it to work, jus having trouble opening the 4k capture thing now.. thank you so much nonetheless

My elgato wasnt recording my gamesound for a while and i wasnt able to figure out why, but your video helped me. Now its working again.

9:41-9:52. Literally the ONLY thing getting in my way. I've done it on two different laptops, a Lenovo and an MSI, and this was all I had to do to get the game audio. BTW, I use HD60X rather than the 60S+

THANK YOUUUUUUUU!!! I manage to fix it somehow, though I don't know what happened. I went to sounds and checked "listen to this device" and IT GAVE ME THE SOUND BACK, BUT it was playing it twice. Don't know why so I unchecked the box again and this time it got rid of this double sound, but it didn't take it all. Basically, it was fixed. I really don't know what was wrong, but you somehow gave me the tools to fix it. Thanks man, this is "The fix". Maybe you talked about it later in the video, but I didn't stick around when I saw that it was finally fixed, sorry about that😅.
Thanks for sharing Fernando. The Video outlines a series of troubleshooting steps as everyone has different tweak that needs to be done and some may have to do them all. But that feeling when it’s fixed is a great feeling. 🙌

But then quickly frustrated since it didn’t work. Even more frustrated when I called el gato and they were no help at all 😭.

I'm pretty sure your video had a fix for me last time I was running into issues but I think since I've got a new laptop it's not working for me. The issue I'm having is that in the windows sound settings screen I can't have my hd60s+ and my mic showing in there at the same time 🤔 I've plugged in each one separately and set them as default but for example if I plug in my hd60s+ in first that comes up then I plug in my mic the mic doesn't appear. Very frustrating as I can now get game sound but can't use my dedicated mic on stream. Any ideas on this?

Hello! Mine was working for a year… just recently it records xbox audio when my headsets off, when headsets on, there is NO audio captured… help!?
I’ve had an issue where my Elgato HD60 S+ flashes red once when I turn on my console. It says that it’s picking up my microphone audio but no readings come up for the gameplay audio. When I do a test recording it doesn’t pick up anything gameplay or mic whatsoever, it’s mute. Was working just fine yesterday. It’s done this before but just takes a day and it fixes itself (only happens every couple months). Wondered if you knew what the issue could be?

@WesGamers sorry you're experiencing this. Are you referring to the Windows Digital Audio Interface? or do better yet, do you mind detailing which audio interface you're referring to?

can you clarify you say at 2:27 the hdmi goes into second monitor. then at 11:37 you say hdmi goes into graphics card. I only have 1 monitor.

I was having similar issues and this helped some; however, my capture card isn't showing under the Audio Input for the mic. My default is my JLAB microphone.

On my Asus laptop I had to check listen to this device in the sound settings. It still doesn't record the sound though.

My HD60 S+ didn't come with a USB cable with a blue tongue it came with a double ended type C USB cable that both ends look like a type C that go into a Type C phone or PS5 controller and both ends have a lightning ⚡ icon on them

I get the audio recording works once with my elgato hd60 S+, but as soon as i shut down and restart, the audio is gone again. Try unplug and replug the hd60 S+ countles times sometime i manage yo get it to work that way but most of the time dont. I get hd60 S+ within last 2 years, how come elgato or coursair dont have a permanent fix for this issue yet.
