    Dude holy sh*t thank you so much, I'm running the same setup of PC to laptop and I tried for DAYS and researched through so many forums to try and get this to work without downgrading my resolution during gameplay. All to learn that you need an additional program (OBS) to project it to the laptop. Also badass setup with all those monitors!!!

      no problem this issue is arising again due to the fact theres 1440p high refresh rate monitors the older capture cards don't support and manufactures haven't resolved the issue for support yet

      @Marcus R Yes exactly, the whole point of a capture card is to get your display and audio onto another computer so your gaming computer doesnt take the strain of streaming and gaming at the same time

  • @omegacon4

    The delay isn't from the difference in Hz (i.e. 144 Hz vs 60 Hz). The delay is because the PC gaming signal is being passed through the Elgato HD60s device.

    How would this work if im playing my ps5 on a 144 hz monitor and my elgato is on a 2nd monitor?

  • @OnlyRuben
    @OnlyRuben 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey when recording gameplay on a ps5 with the Elgato HD 60 s+ is it still possible to play in 120fps even tho the Elgato would only be recording in 60fps? Because I have the original Elgato HD Capture card from many years ago and immediately when I plug it in, it caps my ps5 frames at 60fps because that’s what it’s recording at. Is there a work around that with these newer Elgatos or even that old one?

    • @Xxlionxx5150
      @Xxlionxx5150  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      so this work around is for pc as for ps5 i think it can only go as high as your capture card allows there is no way that i know of atm that can superseed what your ps5 allows it to display you can try to go to 120hz in the settings if it allows it then it should work at 120hz but most of the capture cards are set up as 60hz and so it may only allow max of 60hz thats the issue with console gaming to stream pc unfortionately

    Using just OBS preview I go from a butter-smooth 143fps (capped), to like 118 -125, and it feels like I lose g-sync too. It's so sad i7 9770k and gtx 1080, and still just previewing OBS makes me lose frames. Wish there was a way to disable GPU usage while previewing, or another program that don't use GPU

    • @BorrietheBlade
      @BorrietheBlade 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should disable "preview" in OBS once you have this method above squared away. Preview will put an even bigger load of your gaming pc as it's trying to render the game itself AND a preview in OBS.
      I'm going to try this method as I just bought a HD60S and a stream deck and I also game with a 1440p monitor and have a perfectly good laptop to become my capture and stream pc to free up resources from the gaming desktop.

    I just bought a PS5. I have an Avermedia Live Gamer Mini capture card which I purchased last year for my switch to display audio whilst playing through my PC. I don't have any interest in streaming whatsoever however I can't get my PS5 to go into 120hz at 1440p when running it through the capture card but when I go directly from monitor to PS it works like I expected. Do I need to change my capture card for it to work and if so, please give me some recommendations of good capture cards as I want the problem solved ASAP. Thanks for reading.

    • @Xxlionxx5150

      black bars is caused cause the game can only run in 1080p but your on a 1440p ultra wide monitor so basically the pixels extend further then the minimized screen you've created i recommend running in your native resolution to resolve the issues instead of 1080p or downgrade the monitor

    • @Xxlionxx5150
      @Xxlionxx5150  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Imad Wayzani basically the reason I am doing it the way I’m showing you is so that my gaming monitor which is a 1440p 144hz monitor doesn’t get down scaled to 1080p 60hz if you try to clone the elgato and the monitor it will downscale the game when in full screen to 1080p 60hz which looks terrible on a 1440p 144hz monitor on the stream PC I do have the elgato programing however I’m using stream labs instead as I like the customization better and I find it runs smoother and is better optimized but if you do it the way I showed in the video your gaming monitor you will be able to run full tilt at 4K 60hz or above or 1440p 144hz and still capture game play on the elgato at 1080p 60hz

    • @Xxlionxx5150
      @Xxlionxx5150  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Imad Wayzani got ya so what your doing is instead of cloning the main screen which is what your gaming monitor would be on you will open up obs and set up a display capture for the main monitor in my case it’s display one in obs or streamlabs then you’ll have to right click on that display once it comes up in either program and follow the instructions as I was saying them outloud what I’ll do when I get home today is do a screen capture of all this again but basically in obs it would be project capture to display I think it was and the stream labs your looking for the bottom option when you right click I think I showed it in the video as I realized after it was white washed but basically you do that and so after you right click on the display that you’ve now set up to capture your gaming monitor you will look for that option in what ever program you choose to use and then you want to select what ever one is the monitor port is for the elgato and it will display the main monitor on the elgato but won’t cause you a peer Forman ever drop and it but downscale it from 1440p 144hz to legatos native 1080p 60hz it’s a lot less complicated then it sounds but like I said I’ll try to do a screen capture of how to go about doing it on the main screen and then loop it to the other parts of the video see if I record it from another program it makes it so I can show you better. If this doesn’t help let me know

      Obviously you need to buy a 2nd PC and connect a monitor to the 2nd PC. But why bother if you are using an Nvidia or AMD GPU in your PC? Simply use each GPU card's software to record PC gameplay. If you can't figure this out on your own with all the TH-cam tutorials out in the wild, then PC gaming is not for you.

      No unfortunately there’s no way to do it without sacrificing FPS with only one that’s why most PC streamers gave two is because one is a slower crappy PC that can barely stream and the other is your work horse typically used for gaming so like in my case I have two good PCs but ya like my gaming rig is a 1800x and rtx 2080 graphics and my other PC is my laptop with an i7 7700hq and a gtx 1060 now that’s wayyyyyy over kill for streaming like you can get an older i3 prebuilt dell for like 50-100$ slap a gtx 1050 in it and be able to stream with that

    Im looking now forward to buy a capure Card (Elgato HD 60) for my streaming pc because the Quality of NDI is not so great in fast FPS games. My gaming PC runs on 144hz my streaming pc will run on 60 fps.
    How i connect them both with the elgato without the loss of 144hz gaming?

    • @Xxlionxx5150
      @Xxlionxx5150  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      theres two ways of hooking it up so really it comes down to your set up. the capture card is the connection between the two devices so basically way it works is you go hdmi out of your graphics card to the capture card, then you attach the usb to the streaming pc, then you can if you want to monitor whats being seen through the capture card or only have one monitor run an hdmi out from the out port of the capture card to a monitor. the other option however if you do not need to see that display or you play on a high refresh rate monitor you can basically run a display port to your 240hz monitor set up the elgato as a second monitor(windows does this automatically) and clone your display what this does is basically if you have a hd60s it takes what otherwise would have locked your monitor at 60hz to allowing you to still play on your gaming monitor at 240hz but it will capture at 1080p 60hz or in my case 720p 60 hz cause it doesn't make sense to stream at 1080p

    Hi guys, I am looking to buy elgato capture card for my dual PC streaming setup. I'm watching youtube videos all day for bypassing 60hz gaming monitor and game on 165 hz 1440p instead. There is an option with your elgato actin as your second cloned monitor. That is very nice solution but i really want to know what is the performance loss with this monitor cloning. I have my finger on buy now if there is no noticeable performance loss. Tnx.

      The blue hue can be from it being picked up as another monitor so it's like tricking the system and you may need to adjust the color vibrance the stream was like 480 cause there was a bit of latency and stream lag with this method as well as audio desync

OBS only takes 0,3-0,5% but the gameplay is still kinda sluggish, although it displays frames way abover 100 and 120fps. I feel the preview projection of OBS does that. How are big streamers solving this issue. I feel streamer copanies like Elgato should invest more in detailed tutorials. Their tutorials are meh. thanks for your time.
