I’m 60 and don’t think I’ll be able to ever get a new vehicle, soooo I’ll just upgrade my 2004 Tundra 2nd with an ARB rear locker, 10 inch AirPlay stereo, new wheels, camper shell, 2 inch lift maybe a few other things. That’ll all come to under 10K. Today’s trucks don’t have bench seats which ticks me off. My German Shepherd refuses to ride in the back seat. On long road trips she sprawls out on the split bench and puts her head on my lap.

Well, garypowe90210, for me "looks" have almost nothing to do with my vehicle purchases -- capability/performance are the things I focus on, not something abstract/fickle/shallow like cosmetics (I leave that for adolescents who are still into the trivial). Looks and engine sound (another triviality) do nothing for me on or off-road. And, I wanted the "Top Dog/off-road-focused/serious 4x4" mid size truck -- nothing less -- so I went Gladiator Rubicon. After 3+ years of ownership, no regrets or Buyer's Remorse whatsoever. Some issues, yes, but minor and I still like the truck (it's my Daily Driver, too). Consequently, if I needed to buy a new mid-size truck TODAY, I'd get another Gladiator -- a Rubi, of course! The Chevy Colorado ZR2 is nice, but a distant second (for my needs). There is no 3rd-place choice. "Jeep Wave" -- BR

Best vehicle I ever owned. I’m gonna have to keep mine forever. That’s why I just bought a little Nissan versa with the manual transmission between the two I should be pretty good.
Exactly and it should be pretty reliable with the manual transmission. They’re thrown in 100,000 mile powertrain warranty then I got him to drive 2 1/2 hours to pick me up to bring me to the car and I got money off. Bed liner plus bed mat for me. There is also a nice bed rug available for a very soft surface - it covers bed floor and sides and provides protection for all surfaces - it is totally washable. How often do you use your lockers? A Mojave only has the rear locker. The Willys has a rear limited slip differential.
A mid size truck will unfortunately, never meet my needs. I just tow to much, and like having a full size truck with as long a bed as possible with a crew cab, to haul wood with. However, if I were to ever get a mid size, it would be a Nissan Frontier, or a gladiator.
Other than paint quality gladiators are the best truck bc of front axel. I have the max tow, going to add aftermarket lockers later. 7600lbs of towing. The Mohave has a reinforced frame and steel knuckles. It's tougher, add front locker....that's if money isn't an issue.
The X also comes with Selec Trac transfer case (auto high). What’s your opinion of this option? For driving in snow/slush going to dry pavement, might be useful.
Where does the Bronco come in on your list? I do a ton of outdoor stuff in the mountains, I'll do a RTT after camping in my car for so many years, and I'll be getting back into bow hunting.

In 9 months of ownership, I had fuel pump and transmission problems. When I took it to Aamco for the transmission work, the shop looked like a Chevy/GMC graveyard.
