Proud owner of a 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2. I love love love my truck. For the money you can buy a leftover 24ZR2 for a couple thousand more than a 2025 trail boss. I only paid 43,000 after incentives for my ZR2!
@robertedwards3822 this one is actually Tina's! So i get the best of both worlds. My gladiator and her with the zr2. Then when I dump the gladiator in a year or 2 if I don't find something else I want i will take over the zr2 and she can get something new again
I have that same one full load for a 23 love the truck but I have had many issues with it overnight system that killed my battery and a bad fuel injector.
I really like my Colorado Trailboss. Looked for a midsized truck for several years and the Colorado is the only one that showed up on a lot anywhere near me. No Fords and only used Frontiers in all that time. The transmission and engine are mated very nicely. Driving to town gets me over 21mpg and driving back gets me an amazing 26mpg by the on board computer. That is superior to the raised Subaru Outback that I traded in.
Love your videos Jason, been watching for a few weeks now. Saw one of your earlier videos from last year comparing all of the midsize trucks and how you mentioned you would get a Trail Boss if not for your Gladiator. I have a 90lb black german shepherd and am looking to do more off roading and camping with him, I think the functional and easy to clean trail boss is the perfect fit. Only feature I want in it is the heated seats for winter snowboarding trips - besides that I consider it a great package!
@ seats might be firm for some, but I find them comfy and supportive in right places. Wish there was a 12v charger by the usb charger. It’s in the center box instead.
29k on my ‘24 Canyon now. Has a small intermittent leak at the upper radiator hose connection, but otherwise the truck has been flawless. I absolutely love the powertrain.
I'm 6'1" not even that tall really. I would not have room to sit behind my self there. lol I have a 22 Tacoma and don't have enough room to sit behind my self AT ALL!. lol love your videos brother keep em coming!
Incandescent housings are not designed for use with LED bulbs. The light output will splatter and seem brighter, but you will not have the cut-off that LED housings will have. This is why many people hate drivers with LED headlights.
Disagree. I have ran aftermarket led bulbs in 5 trucks now. Never once been flashed. I think that whole housing bs was made up by people on forums that wanted justification for spending monet on the led factory package. A housing reflects light. A bulb makes light.
I bought a '24 TB a few months ago. Decent truck overall. Plenty of power and the 8-speed trans works well despite its bad reputation. Things I dont like: engine sounds terrible, hate having to push the stop/start button all the time, I dislike most of the gauges are hidden in the menu, hate the sun visors that dont slide back like most every other car has.
My biggest complaint of my colorodo is that the heater, vent, air conditioner buttons should have been bigger and easier to read, like the start stop etc. buttons
My 2024 AT 4 clunks, pops, and clanks from the rear and passenger side. Dealer says it all fine. Headlights flicker, the engine, although powerful, gets loud real quick and it's not refined at all. Horrible fuel mileage... All sorts of electronic quirks and issues... Trading this in next year for sure.
Sorry if i missed it Jason was a link placed for the led bulbs from amazon. Also are they durable in that halogen housing ? Thanks watch your videos daily enjoy them greatly.
@karenhughes401 didn't supply any links as you will have to look up the bulb size you have in your truck. Then buy an led version on Amazon. I pick what one based on reviews. They are all basically the same. Lasfit makes some great bulbs. I have never had a problem with these aftermarket bulbs. I did have a headlight revolution very expensive led bulbs go out in my 2019 ram but they replaced it immediately
Yeah, it looks like the trail boss is going to be my next truck, I'm not in the financial situation where I would be taking a brand new truck somewhere where I would need the more serious off road stuff the ZR2 has.
Get the LT instead. The smaller lighter tires is less rotating mass and you will get better mpg. You can still get a LT optioned with the g80 rear locker. You only miss out on the 4wd low in the transfer case. If you really plan to do substantial off roading then trail boss trim or higher. For most who need standard duty, towing, daily driving the LT is probably the better option.
Yeah, checked the price. I’ll keep my 8 year old long since paid for Tacoma. Best Buy’s? Hopefully they are giving you a great discount for your advocacy!
@ It’s your money. If they’ve convinced you it’s reasonable, go for it! I wasn’t suggesting how you should view it. To me it’s BS. I’m smiling watching all these trucks piling up on dealers lots. I saw one the other day that had been on the lot for a tad over 350 days. Beautiful truck, ridiculously priced. That truck is worth 25% less the moment the tires leave the parking lot. But you know that. New car smell lasts a few months. Irresponsible financial decisions can last a lifetime. Enjoy your new truck.
It's inflation. My 2019 Z71 in 2019 was 40k MSRP. This would be something like 51k in 2024. My 24 ZR2 was 55k new in 2024 but in 2019 would be 46k. Yeah inflation caused vehicles to be 20% more than the improved technology in these vehicles.
Well the lights being on the Home Screen is stupid. I've had numerous head units go bad in vehicles, but never had a headlight know fail. Too much Piano black inside and out on ZR2. Mojave is the bette vehicle for me if I decide to get rid of my Wrangler.
The Colorado Trail Boss is equipped with a 2.7L turbo high-output engine that produces 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The Nissan Titan (V8) has 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. I'm not buying Trail Boss with turbo 2.7-liter and cylinder deactivation!
Congratulations on the truck. For the bulbs you will need to know what size bulb your truck has and then find those on Amazon. Lasfit makes great ones. So does auxbeam, sealight, etc.
@jawzzy3 i just bought a zr2 for my wife today after she watched me review the red one in this video. Both trucks are amazing but the capabilities of the zr2 are outstanding
5 recalls and had rotors turned by 8 thousand miles but at least it’s a lease so only an issue for 2 more years. 400 a month for junk and yes I can get it fixed for free but my time isn’t. Good luck ! Still dealing with Covid cars 🎉
@marklagace5728 been driving a new zr2 for 2 days and 600 miles. Never once ever paid any attention to trans shift. So it's not bothering me at all if it does. Works just fine
Such a cool little truck. And I totally agree, if offers just enough of what you need for a decent price (in todays market). Without actually test driving one, I still think it’d be my choice for a midsize truck!
Not a fan of these at all. No grab handle on the driver side kills it for me. The quality of materials on these are so cheap and the screens look like shit. Electronic parking brake? lol. 4cyl? No thanks.

Looking forward to the ZR2 video. It's between the ZR2 or Gladiator Mojave for me.

The fact that they have cylinder deactivation on a 4 cyl. And nissan can have a naturally aspirated v6. There's no excuse for this GM.
