Power Wagon. I bought mine 2 and half years ago and I like it better every time I drive it. The power Wagon package on the work truck setup is a steal.
Everyone loves their new vehicles under warranty but the only thing I care about is long term reliability and ease of repairs. Winches, onboard air, power inverters, TPMS, suspension, infotainment and audio systems etc can all be bought aftermarket from much better companies but if the truck requires a cab off to work on the engine or dealer patented hardware and software to bidirectional test and relearn faulty modules and sensors then it’s literally a heavy lawn ornament if ever the bank account runs dry
If you keep your truck long enough, you realize you’re better off with a heavy duty 2500 or 3500. There are some compromises in ride and turning radius, but heavy duty components outlast medium duty components my year 2000 Ford E350 supercargo van still runs strong With well over 200,000 miles on it and driven in the city on a daily basis. It’s a work truck. It simply works.
I would like a Ram due to the smoother ride. I would like a GMC because of having the 6.2 but would have to worry about lifters and cam. So i guess i would say the F159 due to the 5.0 and the aluminum body. Im in the rust belt and normally keep my trucks for 20+ years.
I used to think like you and prefer the tremor F-150 as an ultimate build for a full size truck. The Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 was also on my wish list, but the price. I never was one to find a 2500 necessary enough to buy. I was once an owner of a RAM 1500 tradesman and it was a good truck for that time. I settled for a time after the RAM with a Silverado with a baby duramax. But that all changed this year I switched out the chevy's with the Silverado RST first edition. Replacing the 1500 was the right thing to do. All the check boxes are covered, ride comfort and speed and usability. I do not miss anything from that duramax that I sold this year. I tow my boat with all the sports gear with ease now and in comfort when road tripping. All those suspension issues and wheel lock features are a thing of the past for me. But hey severe off-road in the canyons is not a thing for me. I do have confident handling in snow in the higher elevations on ski trips with the new Silverado RST. Buy now if you do your homework there are good deals to be found off MSRP.
Couldn't agree more on the tremor F-150, Jason. My only problem with them is they don't make them with a 6.5 foot bed. That's a must have for me, being that I use my trucks to haul firewood. The tremor F-150 not having a long bed is the reason my next truck will be a F-250 tremor, or a power wagon 2500.
Personally I like the chip keys better than the key fobs. Key fob signals can be read and stolen easier. If you have a chip key it's a lot harder to do that. Again as I said before the more tech that's in a car the lot easier it's going to be a problem and more likely it's going to be easier to steal. Personally I do not like key fobs.
Full-size truck for me (especially since Jeep doesn't make full-size anything) would be a Chevy Silverado ZR2. That is, IF the prices weren't so high (as they are on all trucks nowadays). -- BR
@@marcolcorreia I sure wouldn't. With any of their products it's only going to get worse. The best trucks were in the early 1990s mid-2000s. I had two f-150s during that time and never had an issue with either one of them .
I decided to get a used 2020 titan pro4x in the baja color a couple weeks ago, $33k, 400hp v8, no auto stop start, no cylinder deactivating crap, column shifter, its my 4th nissan, the 5.6 is fantastic, I like the nissan key fobs the best because they aren't big, my last truck was 2022 ram 2500 6.4 tradesman, miss that truck but got rid of it when Brandon made the gas go over $4 a gallon, that truck put a dent in the pocket at the gas pump
Do you people that spew the price hate make any money? I mean jeeez I don’t make the little salary I made in 1990 so why should the truck be that price.
@@charlespierce3647 I can only imagine how hard it is to live on $30k a year. They should never ever be in a new car. It is not a good use of low income. Keep in mind over 1 million new cars are sold every month. Probably none of those go to someone making $30k a year. That may be what many people make but that’s not the market. I’m sorry.

If you want to buy an F-150 Tremor, and you're going to be expecting to snag a steal on one that's been sitting on the lot for 3 months, well, how many did you find? None. That's right. There were none. Maybe you'd find 1 or 2 within 200 miles radius but I wouldn't expect them to have real aggressive markdowns since there just aren't that many. But hey can I interest you in a King Ranch? How about a Platinum?
I hate push button start. I dropped my GF off at the airport with her car. Stopped at a 711 and found out about the key fob. She has the fob at 2000 feet and I had a running car I couldn't shut off.
@kgthakid2911 she had the fob in her purse. If I shut the car off I couldn't restart it. FOB was gone for 2 weeks. WIth an actual key... it can't happen.

Love the way you are thinking about. Have to find what's gonna work best for your needs. For me it's all about the front locker or lsd.
Power Wagon all day. Real lockers front and rear and axles that will easily handle 37's. Half ton axles not made to handle the larger tires.
@captainm7155 power wagon is a hd. Have a what would I buy in hd vid coming out very soon. Power wagon is right st the top of thst list

Hard to beat either of those 2 HD options
F250 7.3 gasser. They need to bring back the 6.2 though. And 2020-2022 body style.
The F250 6.2 gas with the 6 speed trans was probably one of the most dependable trucks ford made
@@marshallforeman2051 agree
The thing that sucks with the 150 Tremor, you have to get like a 10k package to get that Torsen front diff. It would be nice as a stand alone option.
With that 10k option I do believe it costs more than a zr2…could be wrong.
Agree. The torsen front is the only reason to buy a tremor

Trying to decide between a Gladiator Rubicon or a Ram 1500 Classic Warlock!!
2 great options
How long do you keep your trucks if you had 9 F150's? I've had two in the last 30 years. One of which is a 1st gen Tundra.
18 months on average
If you're into Ford lightning which I'm not, Ken grody Ford in Buena Park California is doing 1.9% financing.
Great info. Thank you
I would buy a Dodge loaded out for $150,000 plus tax, title, and license.

Tundra all day.

But would you still buy a Tremor with all the quality control issues lately with Ford.

Is the regular power wagon that bad compared to the tradesman model?
Both are amazing. The price difference is pretty huge. The tradesman pw is much more bare bones on features.
