"Most Important" Qigong Exercise for Beginners

  • I’d like to share with you one of the most important Qigong exercises you can practice. There are literally hundreds of Qigong exercises, and they are all great! But, this one exercise can be helpful for all aspects of your body, mind, and qi flow!
    For more info, or full Qigong practices come visit:
    ➜ www.qigongforv...
    Whether you’re a complete beginner to Qigong practice, or you have some experience, this one exercise can be a very useful and helpful. You can practice it basically anywhere. It’s very simple. It’s very easy.
    The idea with Qigong practice is that we want to get the qi moving freely throughout the body. We do that by:
    ● lightly moving
    ● breathing deeply
    ● getting the body to open up and relax
    ● calming and clearing the mind
    We have qi that’s flowing through the internal organs and all the meridians and the soft tissue in the body. And when it gets stuck in stagnant, then we get sick we get ill, we don’t feel our best.
    So during Qigong practice, you simply you move the qi smoothly throughout in the body, then:
    ● the immune system is healthy
    ● the digestion is strong
    ● the energy levels are good
    ● the sleep is deep and restful
    ● we feel happy and content 🙂
    This one exercise is almost like a “Super Food.” Super foods are foods that have all the carbohydrates, proteins, fats, nutrients, vitamins, and micronutrients that your body needs. Eat that one superfood and it can fuel your body.
    This one exercise is like that - the Super Food of Qigong!.
    It’s called the Opening Exercise. The reason the opening exercises so helpful is because it helps circulate the qi throughout all the meridians, internal organs and all the different systems. So if you have problems with:
    ● tension, and stress - this is going to help the liver
    ● respiration or breathing issues - this is going to help the lungs
    ● digestion and appetite and bowel issues- this is going to help the spleen and stomach
    ● circulation, depression, anxiety - this is going to help the heart
    ● sleep and hormones and back pain and low energy - this is going to help the kidneys
    This one Qigong exercise really can help everything that you need for full health, and vitality! It’s great if you don’t have much time, you don’t have much space and you’re just looking for quick practice. Just practice exercise for five minutes or so.
    Qigong practices is about what you do with your body, what you do with your breath, and what you do with your mind. So your intention, and your thoughts are very important as you’re practicing Qigong. So choose a simple affirmative phrase that you can hold in your mind as you practice the Opening Exercise.
    You can practice that simple exercise once or even twice a day. If you do it for five minutes, great if you can do it for 10 minutes, great. If you do it for one minute, that’s fine. The opening exercise is wonderful to help just remind us that we can be healthy, we can be vibrant and full of life and energy. We just have to stop, breathe, let our
    body and our mind settle.

    I am an acupuncturist who practices Tai chi and Qi Gong. I share this simple Qigong breathing exercise with my patients and friends. I tell them if they only do this one exercise mindfully and keep increasing the time, they can stay healthy. Of course, it's nice to do more but the idea is mindfulness. I use this between patients and when I need some energy. Very simple and powerful!

      @functionalaestheticse.c.8953 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@tuskytereliye I started with 5 minutes/day and worked up to 10-20. I did not always have the time to do longer but I find the best effects as far as mental clarity and energy came towards the end of that range. I find it is best to do it when you are moderately tired. Too much energy and you will find it hard to stay focused. If you are exhausted it will be hard to go for very long. Hope this helps.

Your videos are incredibly relaxing, informative and your movements are so fluid and the breathing is very helpful. Thank you so much for this video. It is just what I needed. I took one qigong class about 35 years ago when on vacation in Monterey, CA. It was a full day class and very informative with similar instructions like your video. When I got back to Boston, I couldn't find any qigong classes. I've been searching for years. I did use a similar exercise with a very upset patient who couldn't sleep. When I finished, he was sound asleep. As I walked out of the room, there were 2 angry nursing assistants asking me what I did to him. They just didn't get it.

    Have been using a number of qigong exercises without knowing it. I refer to them as the shapes our body make and the intent of what they focus upon. (shapes I, O, V, X, T, S, M etc) easy for creating exercise plans and modifying as and when needed whether for a lighter regime or a more difficult one. Always relaxing though and fun. Has helped me go from being leg locked and stiff throughout my entire body with associated pain to being pain free, more balanced, flexible and a lot stronger in my joints and body overall. Combined with floor sleeping this has made a huge difference in my life.

    • @GMiller75
      @GMiller75 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@belamehta2966 your body realigns when you are on the floor as opposed to a mattress so eases the joints. Not only that but the motion of getting down to the floor and back up along with the space for your feet to move freely gets rid of plantar fascitis which I used to find extremely painful when I slept in a bed especially first thing in the morning. Since floor sleeping I have eliminated the stiffness I used to have, the severe back pain I needed meds for and plantar fascitis. I no longer "creak" when moving either. The only time I sleep in a bed now is when I am away from home and I always miss floor sleeping when I do.

I saw my chiropractor recently and he advised that when I do this exercise as I bring my arms back down to centre and relax the knees into a bit of a squat, I look way, way up. I know what he is saying and why but it feels really strange to me. Can anyone please speak to this? As you bring your arms down to centre and relax the knees, where do you set your gaze? Would you not simply just follow your hands? (If my hips are out of alignment it is easy for me to tip forward) Many thanks! 🙏

    A wonderful video showing a wonderful Qigong exercise. Jeffrey has the ability and talent to teach and show how to do the exercise in such a simple and easy to understand way. Personally I have been doing this every day, except when circumstances forbid, for the last 3 years or more and can honestly say, its a life changer. Thanks and gratitude.

    I really love this and you're so calming. Thank you! I am inspired to do this more regularly. Can Chi Gong tone the body and build muscle over time?

    It is important for me to know why you are doing each exercise. Please explain the subtle (energy) body, how the energy is shaped around the body, how each exercise moves and changes the chi, what is the importance of each exercise regarding chi. This way I understand what is happening and why. Thank you.

    Excellent video the best I've seen... I FEEL IT!!! I've tried so many techniques but this is the one that with a little practice I've been able to do. Some practitioners are too complicated but this very clear and concise and easy to follow step by step. Keep making more videos please because qigong has changed my life. Thank you very much and have a blessed day. 🙂🙂🙂🙏🙏🙏

    I’m so happy that I found your channel this afternoon! I knew I need to get started on a healing form of exercise and I really hurt myself doing yoga. This looks so much healthier for me! Can you suggest which video to get started with? This one looks good! 💕

    • @ThinkVitalityQiGong
      @ThinkVitalityQiGong  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I am glad you discovered the channel as well!
      There are a few good practices in this playlist th-cam.com/video/CCicH-iz1oU/w-d-xo.html and I would begin with the first one.
      If you are really wanting to explore Qigong you can come join the Communi Qi and go through the 30 Days of Qigong 🙂
      The goal is to just keep practicing and you will find your way!

    Some people believe that when you bring your hands down to Centre as your exhale causes your energy / qi to drop. They recommend that you invert the movement which you have just demonstrated. Does this matter and does it make a difference? E.g. breathing in from Centre up and out breathing out bringing your hands down on the outside.
