Velosolex 1700 ( 1960 ) Restoration, With Grandad Jeff.

Hello again and thank you for watching our latest video. In this episode I will be rebuilding the rear brake and getting the back end back together again.
The Velosolex is getting near completion.

Hi Andy, thank you very much. My mum is a bit better mentally and I think she is having physio.
It was a bit of a shock when James told me Emily was pregnant, but now I feel proud.

Thanks very much Adam. The Velo is getting there, Rebecca will be coming over to see us tomorrow and my mum his better mentally, I think she's having physio through the day.

Those brake were very filling I would struggle with having big fingers but you doing a lovely job mate😂

Hi Phil and thank you. Although it was a shock when we found out, I now feel very proud.
The brakes are a pain, but when put together, it is quite a good system.
I was hoping to connect the cable, but it turned out too frayed to use. The front cable was fine though. I have ordered another rear cable and have managed to sort out the stuck throttle/ decompression lever.

Hi Jeff, a lot going on in your personal life, I wish your Mum a quick recovery and all the best to your son and his girlfriend on the birth of the baby girl. The Velsolex is coming a long well a bit fiddly those break calipers looks more work than what you get on a bicycle. It's a looking good for the Velosolex, have a good bank holiday weekend Take care

Hi Shaun, thank you very much. Yes it is a bit all go at the moment, my mum is in good spirits and the baby is doing fine, that's all that matters. The brake calipers are a pain, it's a good system once put together.
The rear brake cable was too frayed to use, so I have ordered another one. The front caliper is now working fine.

Thank you very much Martin. Yes the brakes are a pain, but when fitted they are very well built and easy to adjust. The rear brake cable was too frayed to fit so Ihl have ordered a new one.
The front one was fine.
