I actually agree with you a lot on the bosses of DS3. Very fun movesets, but they're limited by the fact that the way you interact with their attacks is by...dodging them in the same exact way, often in the same direction. The problem is that dodging, while fun, does not really interact with the boss mechanics in the same manner that-say-a parry would in sekiro. It similarly does not reward the player in any meaningful way outside of safety. Lastly, DS3 Bosses are so dependent on rolling that it makes them feel dull. The bosses wouldn't even be very memorable to me if they didn't have the lore they did.

Are you...implying Bed of Chaos is a good boss? I would agree DS2 gets a lot of silly criticisms the other games are also guilty of and I enjoy DS2 as well. But I also feel like railing on DS3's bosses and praising DS1's bosses is also silly. DS1 has terrible bosses as well.

Lies of P is lovely piece of art. Its my favourite game alongside Sekiro (and NOoo Dark Souls doesn't even close for me) This last line is for FromSoftware (I love them they are pretty dope) D*** riders "Lies of P is on par with than Dark Souls and Sekiro ( I haven't played Elden Ring and Bloodborne) or maybe even better" I can already smell fromsoft d*** riders coming to force their opinion on me.

The thing that always bugged about how many people treated Bloober is that they focused only on their cheesy or unintentionally funny moments, while they've always been great a building atmosphere and horror. It's beyond me how so many people seemed to miss the great parts of The Medium and fixated only on the parts that didn't work or the, sometimes, heavy hand with which they treated certain themes. Plus it seems to me like most people missed Observer: System Redux, which is a superb example of cyberpunk horror.

Look, I think I agree with your points, but what was that example at 6:07. You had no health, it wasn’t even fast, it wasn’t even a combo really (DS3 is also near the bottom of the series for me)

This game is an absolute masterpiece and doesn’t get the love or respect that it deserves. I’ve been a FromSoft fan since playing evergrace on the ps2 and even bought a ps3 solely for demons souls. And I almost hate to say it, but lies of p surpasses every dark souls game for me and only barely lags behind bloodborne as my overall favorite soulsborne game of all time. But wow, lies of p really is the whole package, and I can’t wait to see what round 8 studio has in store for us in the future.

Played Dark Souls III after playing Elden Ring, Bloodborne and Sekiro. DS III ended as my least favorite of them while Bloodborne tied with Elden Ring as my favorite.

This one is still on my bucket list. Ever since I saw it in the store, I wanted to give it a try because it looked different than anything for its time. I also have to agree with your judgment on N64 graphics…they look so muddy and cringy.

I just finished my second playthrough, and Lies of P is a great game but it frustrated me so much because it could be better, if they did a better job at level design. The game has no alternative route and that really bumped me. Also they could improve the exploration (hidden walls, elevator shaft) that"what if i drop off this ledge I will die or find a secret?" Kind of moment. If they invest on this at the second game, it will be epic.

"My ranking of these games might be insane" move Demon's Souls (remake) up and I 100% agree, although I never finished Sekiro and while I haven't finished this video, Lies of P clears them all imo (until Bloodborne gets a remake *copium*)

Lies of P was my first ever souls like I've played, it got me to buy Dark Souls 1 when it went on sale, because of Lies of P I fell in love with the genre

Game is very good but it's nowhere near in level design and fluidity in movement. I don't know if it's because you are a puppet but the movement and hits are not as good as soulsborne games

OK, this video popped up on my feed because I've been watching Lies Of P reviews before I bought it. So, I'm late to the party. Maybe the party has ended. Oh well... at least the toxic soulsborne elitists have left.... Anyway, after beating ER, I got Lies of P. When I play ER, I enjoyed the exploration, just roaming around and beating up bad guys (no clue what I'm doing even after beating it) but dreaded the misty entrances (boss fights). Because I know I'm gonna be facing another lame cheap one-shotting my ass type of boss (or 2 bosses) that I probably beat before with a re-skin and new moves. The fun was the exploration, boss fights, not so much. When I play games like Wukong, Stellar Blade and now Lies of P, I find myself excited and curious to see what the next boss is like. ER also made me realized how much I prefer more linear games like the ones I mentioned. I also like to play moderately aggressive and those games let me. ER is just kinda wait for the boss to finish it's BS combos and I go in for a shot or two. Guess which is more fun for me ? 😉😉

Endurance is always the first Stat you dump points into. Not only can you dodge or block attacks but you can now attack during your attack windows instead of waiting for your stamina to just dodge or block again. Keep minimal stats for weapons requirements and level your weapons until your stamina and health are at 20 each minimum. Once you can maintain combat and take a few hits then you start your build. Also Endurance increases all resistances including physical defense allowing you to reduce damage making your hp more viable. 500hp can feel like 600hp if your Endurance is first focus. 8:47

This album blow my mind, but can’t be compared to an album made by a band playing their instruments. Beach boys didn’t play on Pet Sounds or Smile. These are Brian Wilson’s albums who used the voice of the Beach Boys as some more instruments. Brian is a genius, the rest of the band, specially Mike Love, I have zero respect for.

You don't really need to use parrying at all, maybe just for two bosses, like Nameless Puppet and Illusion Girl. The game is much easier if you focus on dodging and rolling. You said that you like the things that make the gameplay easier, and Lies of P is definitely easier than other Souls-like games. You also like it because you can get a happy ending, and the story is really good. Other Souls games also have a great story, but they're not as focused on the narrative as Lies of P is - they focus more on combat and mechanics. Additionally, Lies of P gives you the strongest equipment right at the start of the game, so you don't have to worry about whether you'll find better gear or not. The build you choose isn't that important, so you can actually finish the game with the starting weapon, which feels a bit ironic because you don’t feel like you've achieved anything - you just keep going, hitting things, while you're forced to pay attention to the story.

In my opinion with it…I love games that are influenced by darksouls more than I like actual darksouls games…the combat mechanics is ridiculously slow and boring… Sekiro is the best game fromsoftware has made followed up by bloodborne and the rest….man the character designs is absolutely incredible but the combat doesn’t hold my attention and to then have the nerve to tell the story through items descriptions!!!… 🤦🏿‍♂️ how dare you!?!? Pick your battle!!!

I love Lies of P so much but I do NOT get the hate for Dark Souls 3. It took was the Dark souls 2 we always wanted, and maybe that's why some ppl dislike it. It's a really polished Dark Souls 1 with all the yank removed from it. Being released around 7 years before Lies of P I think Dark Souls 3 is a masterpiece. Lies of P is there as well, I think I would rank Lies of P higher if the setting was more to my liking (The classic dark fantasy horror with Berserk inspiration is just too good)

Adp is literally useless other than rolling I frames. The resistances are useless when I have stuff that immediately heals the effects. If you wanna argue that it’s not useless then you’d have to say that resistance in dark souls 1 is not useless

I went into this assuming you didn’t like it cause it was too hard. I was 100% right. It’s the most linear but that line is hard asf. It is consistent and just as fair as the first one though

I love getting reccomended all these videos as I finish my journey through the FS library because it just proves what I already knew, which is these games were never these works of art that so many claim and that's even when compared to each other. While the takes in this video were definitely something, I think it's a symptom of something larger that everyone posts Elden Ring is finding out which is "your favorite FS entry was never this magnum opus that everyone has claimed". Congratulations, you know have the opinion of a rational person and not some super fan.

literally darksoulsborne i came into ds3 as my first souls game, i put no points into stamina. still a cake walk, your stamina regens at the speed of light and you can spam roll without being punished 95% of the time just spam the spacebar, bro

Played ds3 in like 2018 but never beat soul of cinder. Last year I played ds and ds2 back to back, started ds3 and quit after Aldrich. I hated it. Came back and didn’t like it. Started over and Replayed three times. i spend like no time in the over world I just run to the bosses. Bosses are cool but I hate exploring.

It is astounding how fantastic lies of p is. Easily reaches my top 3 souls likes and maybe even my top 5 games of all time. Ps. You’re wrong about ds3
