@@Sputnik34 your emergent gameplay story is easily my favourite thing about BGS games. I still remember my first time playing Skyrim, getting challenged to a drinking contest and waking up on the other side of the map. My finger was hovering over the quick load key but I just rolled with it and I'm so glad it did. I'm looking forward to those kinds of moments when I play this in December.
@@arkham666 yeah I mentioned in the video that I started playing New Vegas after SF and yeah I made some bad decisions but rolling with them is so much of the fun
@@arkham666 I recently played up until the first dream sequence. I can't wait to get back to it. I might need a refresher on some story bits but yeah I was really enjoying it
The first hour i felt was slow, but as you said, it doesn't take long for it to pick up. But i 100% agree with you, exploration is really what killed it for me. I like Starfield but i just cant get into it like i can other Bethesda games. Exploring the planets would be fun if it didn't take so long to run to the cave i wanted to go into, only to find its just filled with poop LOL. Awesome Video bud.
Man I’m really enjoying it…I wonder what other 5 games released in 2023 do you have above Starfield given that you mentioned it’s not top 5. Sometimes I think I value the amount of content, variety and possibilities within a game over very good but short games, say, Call of Duty Campaign (ignoring the good multiplayer part which is huge and a big part of the value of this game). Single player comparison only
You sound like someone who would really enjoy all Bethesda titles. I've probably put 2000+ hours into Bethesda games and I could relate to all of the things you liked and criticized. Also that rating was on point, its a 8.5/10 for me too, but I'm a fanboy and realistically it's probably more of a 7.5-8... Definitely a 7 tho, don't know what IGN smoked that day
@@Sputnik34 It's a Bethesda game at heart :D I really enjoyed it too, played it not as much as Fallout 4 and Skyrim, but objectively New Vegas and Oblivion are the best games to come out of the "Bethesda structure" of games. Excluding 76, there isn't a BGS game I can't recommend. Elder Scrolls I-III are a bit dated, so I couldn't bring myself to play much, but I know that a lot of older fans still swoon over Daggerfall and especially Morrowind even now
Your vid was more like a thoughts and discussion video, with some review style vibes now and then... I did wish the video visuals were less repetitive and generic, as they were not always related to the topics you were speaking about... I ended up putting my device down to just listen, rather then watch anything... Might have been better as a Podcast over a video... Twas an interesting view on the game...
Appreciate the watch. I just didn't have the ability to record everything from SF. the game was too intense for my machine to both play at a quality setting AND record. I couldn't get footage of some of the stuff I talked about unfortunately
This is literally the only thing I've watched about starfield months since I'm hoping to go in fairly blind. You got me pretty excited.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! It’s nice to hear someone’s take on this… controversial game.
i definitely recommend it but definitely actively seek out quests and limit your "random exploration" :')
Awesome video, man, and it's definitely fun to hear your thoughts. I have a little video coming out on the game as well.
hell yeah! thanks for watchin :')

The year has just been so crazy. Maybe I will have it in my top 5 but that last half of my playtime really drug the whole thing down for me

I know it's not technically a Bethesda title but I mentioned in the video that I started playing New Vegas afterwards. I fucking love it!

@Sputnik34 I respect it this is my opinion too
Nice video man. Good to see an opinion that I share. Thought I was going crazy for loving the game seeing all the negativity everywhere. Subscribed
