One of two ways to get to Yosemite for those coming from points far away. It's a better option than Reno to Lee Vining then Yarts to Yosemite in my opinion. I've taken Greyhound to Reno, etc. and that isn't fun at all. A good movie about the Valley (sort of) is Valley Uprising about the rock climbing scene that started in the Valley from Royal Robbins to Alex Honnold.

on my first vacation to oahu we rented a jeep for about 3 days toured the island and returned the car back to the airport form the airport we took the city bus and got to see the locals and the non touristy side back to waikiki beach i really enjoyed immersing in the real city. spent the rest of the vacation walking to the beach and got a cab back to the airport.

There are 4 entrances to Yosemite. Each entrance offers a different experience. I try to go with friends at least once per year and camp in the upper pines campground. The 4 seasons also provide diffeent experiences . A truly marvelous place. Visit mono lake and experience the east side of Yosemite park .

Great video. I wish there were limits to the Observation car to be fair to all of the riders :( next time you stop in Union Station Los Angeles, walk across street to Olvera Street and go to Cielito Lindo, corner of Olvera Street, amazing taquitos and sauce!

I love this because I love going to Yosemite but hate driving there. I'm going to try this next time. One tip, if you get a backcounty permit, you can stay in the backpacker's camp the night before or after your trip. If coming in via transit, I'd recommend staying there the first night so you can recover from the long journey, explore the valley more, and get pizza before the next day's hike.

I remember riding on BART as a child (it was a school fieldtrip) within the first few weeks after it first opened in 1972. It was no where near as extensive to begin with but it was exciting and totally shiny and new. Thanks for posting this great video! Been binging your videos for the last couple of days and this one is kinda special, because maybe it wasn't the best experience for you but: 1. It reminded me of a summer I spent at Pismo Beach during a lnaguage exchange scholarship. 2. In Spain (where I live) there's a seaside train that connects Barcelona and Alicante called the Euromed with great views of different beaches, cliffs, coves and the whole Costa Daurada of the Mediterranean. It's also a train that could be more comfortable and the ride lasts like 7 hours, so I related. 3. The comedic timing of being on the verge of losing the train, stopping to hold the door for that lady and the music stopping? Priceless.

Love this video! As a visiting European, I did the complete opposite earlier this summer, doing a classic solo roadtrip round California (including Yosemite!) which to me was the most American thing imaginable, haha.
