As a Bay Area transit aficionado and native, I really love how you highlight the accessibility of the Oakland Ballers’ home baseball park in West Oakland! Keep doing you and as a fellow Bay Area creator I love seeing you highlight content in Oakland.
Bay Area native here, I was lucky to have the opportunity to play the national anthem for the A's when I was in my high school marching band, and while I wasn't as much of a baseball fan as I am now, the crowd seemed absolutely electric. It's sad to see the way the team has gone, but I am very excited to see what the Ballers can do now. Thanks for the excellent video, showing off the city in all it's shades!
Not a bad crowd considering the circumstances. I feel like a minor league team moving to Oakland would be a pretty good opportunity for the city if the ballers thing doesn’t work out.
@@EricMoranFilms Like Peckies said, about an hour and a half driving (and no trains from Stockton at game times). Right now, my drive to a gam is 20 minutes or less. Me being from across the bay originally, living out in the Oakland area the last 7 years I’ve noticed the people from Oakland really love and take pride in their city. That’s a good thing.✌🏽
Hey Adam! I work cameras and the scoreboard for the ballers (that was my homerun animation at 7:42)! Thanks for coming out and I would love to get you a discount for the next time you're around!

No, I live here in the Bay Area and wear the stuff to a lot of games, 25 A's games so far this season, 2 B's games, 2 Giants games, handful of other events. The outfit is still being built out. Eventually I want it to look like Raiders Black Hole fans or University of Georgia Spike Squad.

I've been wanting to check out the Ballers haven't made my way out yet. This looks like it's a good time! Also, I love seeing Oakland content in my feed, and Bay Area stuff in general, please keep it up. Cheers from Adam's Point!
So much to say here, I lived in Oakland for years just above Lake Merritt. Moved to Chicago in 2015 and then NYC in 2019 with a brief stint in Philadelphia. Glad to see some signs of love for Oakland and Emeryville. On another note, I learned the Oakland Oaks (minor league baseball team) had their stadium where the Pixar campus is located today, and the Oaks Card Club nearby (kitty corner) was (one of) the setting(s) where legendary Yankees manager (and former Oaks player) Billy Martin would get into fights with strangers, making national news. There’s also a former steam powered car factory turned into apartments just north of 40th too. Those kind of little stories can sadly be forgotten as people die, and it led to me to an idea for successfully patenting a new type of search engine for spatial environments. Those two stories of Oakland took my life in a completely different direction. You’re making me miss Oakland now!
So cool, I didn't know that! Oakland obviously has it's issues. And they are serious. But there's so much history and, if you know where to look, a strong sense of community.
My mother and her friends started a Billy Martin fan club that got mentioned in the Oakland Tribune. Her dad got the autographs of most, if not all, of the 1948 Oaks' PCL Championship team on a ball, including Billy Martin and HOFs Ernie Lombardi and Casey Stengel, and has found its way to me. A cool thing that used to happen during Seals-Oaks doubleheaders, was they would play a true split doubleheader, with a home game for each team, taking the ferry to cross the bay.
Thanks for doing all this Adam and sharing news of Oakland. I moved out of the Bay 3 years ago but if I were still there, I would've definitely highlighted this and made a vlog too and do everything in my power to bring more awareness. Keep it up with the Bay Area content. Thank you again
This was fun! Thanks for this as I was curious, too. If we lived in the Bay, we’d be checking them out, so for now, you need to take our spot. In recent news, Modesto is losing their Single A team, the Nuts. They used to be the Modesto A’s and our family spent many nights there. Dam tragic. A couple videos have been made about it, one by Brodie Brazil and another from my Sacramento Buddy (The Touchback). Cheers.
I've been to two Ballers' games and have had a great time (and walking to a ball game is a joy.) Mayor Mike was away at a Philadelphia game last night, but the staffer who was selling dogs was up to the task of dogs and keeping the fans engaged. Scrappy is great with the crowd and seems to be having fun. I could do without the fireworks and reckless driving, but West Oakland is home and I'll stand up to the grumpy cryptobros from the City who trash talk us. I'm glad they aren't being draconian about the bag policy. Folks who have disabilities and need to bring supplies with them don't need the world seeing what's in their bags.
Fireworks will taper off as we get further from independence day. Not so sure about the driving though. And I agree on the bag policy. Would be a shame to turn someone away for having the wrong bag. They were searching all the bags that weren't clear.
Greta video. Almost about the lower leagues in sports. Even ones I don't care about. Just to let folks know, Oakland has a professional soccer team. The Oakland Roots in the USL Championship. Looks to be a good matchday atmosphere. Community engaged.
Oaklander here. Just stumbled upon your channel and watched a couple videos. Awesome stuff, man. This city has nothing but potential. With an emphasis on potential. Happy to see someone helping us realize that potential. Subscribed and tuned in. Keep it up.
Glad to have you here! It feels like we're at rock bottom as a city right now. But thanks to The Ballers and some other community lead stuff, we're coming back!
I went to a game a few weeks ago, and I can't wait for next season. There's something really genuine about a team and a fan base that are in it for the fun of it, and not the money... But I hope they're able to keep the funds up, too!
Even though I grew up with the Boise Hawks, I wish the B's the best and I hope they have wonderful success for years to come as a franchise. Thank you for the great videos 👍
Oakland A’s 9 time overall World Series, 4 in Oakland. Legendary players like Ricky Henderson, Dave Henderson, Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson, Jose Canseco, Mark McGuire, Dennis Eckersley, Sal Brando, Rollie Fingers, Vida Blue, Barry Zito, Tim Hudson, Carney Lansford, Eric Chavez, Bert Campaneris, Dave Stewart, Dwayne Murphy, and many others. Exactly how does a team like the Ballers replace that? Arguably even the Giants have trouble matching that CV.
Great video. I really hope the insane MLB pricing and practices start to push folks to check out more independent (American Association, Pioneer, Frontier, etc) and minor league games where you can afford tickets, have a great time, see some exciting baseball without binoculars and connect with your local fans.
I went to the game Wednesday, the day they won! Saw Carson Lambert pitch well, Payton Harden steal bases, and Dondrei Hubbard rake. Crowd was pretty sparse.
as a former oakland resident, i am angry and depressed about what has happened, but this makes me a bit less sad--it's great. that said, my curse upon the a's and the raiders and the warriors is still in full effect.
1:06 very impressed with how nice you made this intersection look! The Buddhist building in particular. Maybe I'm down on it because I usually get there from Grand. I have to pass the sad looking parking lots instead of the more exciting stuff on Telegraph.
That's awesome! There was a hilarious moment where the friend on your right said hi to a little kid who was his neighbor. The kid responded "who are you?" I was the guy in front of you who burst out laughing.
Smart Bay Area dude, bring layered clothing. Got hypothermia in the shade at the old Candlestick during a warm summer Giant’s game. 70+ in the sunny part of the ‘Stick and 50 degrees with a 40 degree wind chill in the shade. Forgot to bring my windbreaker.
Ii's cool that players will just walk by you! I went to a Single A game in So Cal and I also noticed the posted rules were really not enforced. I brought a clear bag, but was about the only person I saw to do so. The security also just let us show are ticket to enter. No metal detectors or searches although they had the equipment.
It is a really cool experience. There was security throughout the stadium the entire game. And they were thoroughly searching everyones bags. Could you imagine being turned away for bringing a bag that wasn't clear?
I live in Indianapolis, we have the AAA Indians who are the Pirates affiliate. If it’s a promo night you could get those three for like $8 but if not you’re taking about $15-16. If you went to a Pacers or Colts game you’d def be spending around $18 or so
At 1:29 you point out that the Great Falls Voyagers are in last place. To be a bit more precise, they are tied for last place with (our) Grand Junction (oddly named) Jackalopes. Another cool thing about the Jackalopes (besides the odd name and being in last place): general admission is always $9, but if you're an over 55 old fart like me you get $3 off, so just $6. They're at home this week, I may go to a game even though the temps are flirting with triple digits.
@@AdamDoesNotExist Hey, I didn't notice that till you mentioned it! Very cool. Looks like Sidecar has good and, no doubt, very low calorie burgers (yea, right). That's what makes the name of the local (Grand Junction, Colorado) team so odd and, frankly, inappropriate: the jackalope isn't a creature of Colorado (real or myth? I'm not touching that third rail!), and it has never had anything to do with Grand Junction. The jackalope is found....if it's found at all....in Wyoming! I have no idea where the team name came from or who thought it was a good idea. Prior to last year the local minor league team was the Grand Junction Rockies, an affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. My old band shot our video at that old Pacific Pipe Co. It's a rock climbing place now? LOL. I remember there was a small earthquake while we were setting up and some of the old pipes fell and made a loud noise. Our roadie who's from Florida freaked out, got on his stomach with his legs and arms spread out yelling "WHAT DO WE DO WHAT DO WE DO?!!!" we all laughed at him. Good to see West Oak. doing ok. Worked over there in the late 90s before the Pixarification. They shoulda let them keep the Bordertown skatepark tho.
The Yolo High Wheelers play at UC Davis, and it's the complete opposite, its mostly empty every game and the heatwave has not made it better either. The valley has been a straight hell, especially to go watch them play during the day. They have been having issues with the lighting that prevents them from having nightgames to avoid the heat.
I love the video. I just wanted to point out that after doing some research, I noticed that Giants and A's tickets are generally around the same price. Giants tickets may be a little bit more expensive depending on the night, but saying they are 10X as expensive is a ridiculous exaggeration.
Depends on the game and the seat usually. Usually the 'get in the door' prices for unimportant games are around the same. But for good seats at Giants games, I've always had to pay a lot more.
Thank you! I've thought about doing the roots, but I am bummed that they play in Hayward right now. Does look like they could go far in the playoffs this year though....
I have lived in Vegas and the summers are too hot for anything but sleeping. The Las Vegas Aviators have a very nice stadium, but after May, forget it. If Las Vegas brings the A's here and puts them up, I would be highly shocked if they don't build a dome. I only want them to move here so I can watch my Yankees play a few games a year.
I’m born and raised in Oakland. I’m not committed to the Ballers (for now, maybe in the future?), it just seems like a downgrade to MLB like a local adult league at a local park. A lot of people I know who grew up here in Oakland aren’t on board with the Ballers. The Baller’s are not appetizing. I love Baseball it’s my favorite sport but I may just be done with Baseball if the A’s really do leave. Not sure how I feel yet but I have no desire currently to go to a Ballers game
It's a different thing. The A's made it clear that they're just a business, and only in it for themselves. The Ballers need to find a way to make this a sustainable business, and they're doing that through building something for the community. It's really cool.
Hi , I’m part of Entertainment Crew . Please come back so we can get you on the field to play a game lol 😂. But overall I’m glad you had an amazing time ❤
Great video. This all seems good and well (I especially appreciate the bike ride there and the energy seems great), but: A. The clear bag policy seems super intrusive to me. If you're afraid of terror attacks or whatever, just get a guard who has to stuff his hand into everyone's bag, but don't tell the crowd which bags to bring (especially considering their purported environmental concerns, as you mentioned). B. I admittedly haven't been to a ballgame in a while, but is 20$ for a hot dog, peanuts and a coke really reasonable?
The pinkish one is from my friend's restaurant. I made a video about it called "Journey to the world's best gas station." The blue one is from outer range brewery in CO.
Never underestimate a city getting behind a baseball replacement when their major or minor league affiliate leaves town. Portland had the Beavers leave 13 years ago and the Pickles have truly made up for it for those of us that don't want to go all the way to Hillsboro.
Hey Adam i was wondering in which part of Oakland you lived in? its ok if you aren't comfortable with sharing that information and also great video man :)
@@AdamDoesNotExist thats completely understandable and fine. I got recommended your videos by the algorithm and immediately fell in love with them. Very underrated content and creator. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks Adam for demystifying the Doom Loop narrative popular with click bait right wing trolls. Oakland is a great town. Many problems but still a great urban center.
@@JimmyG415 .the Seals were owned by Charlie Finley who also owned the A's at the time (early 70's). Cheapskate never put money into the teams or venues. Hockey could have thrived with better ownership.
I can't help but feel Bob Melvin, the former long term manager of the A's being the Giants new manager is just a MLB ploy to be like "look who we got in San Francisco, keep giving us even more of your money as we take away the team you followed for years if not decades. Rubes." he is a good manager though.
Great video but I have a question.. where the hell did that north face come from. I know you didn’t have it in your pocket. I call shenanigans on that, unless you had it in your prison pocket I need answers.

West Oakland has changed quite a bit... in some places. In some places it's about the same as it ever was.
That's brutal. Day games in the valley sound rough. Will be interesting to see how the A's do in SAC.
I live in an area where a milb team is and we go to there games a lot it’s very fun and entertaining! My home team may suck but Atleast it’s fun.
It's a different thing. But always fun!
You should take a look at the Oakland Roots!
I'm thinking about it!
I honestly got my accounting degree hoping to work for these guys.
Will happen one day.
Good Luck!
At the 10:57 the dude in red is my dad
Cool!
Great video! Now do the Oakland Roots!
Thank you! I've thought about doing the roots, but I am bummed that they play in Hayward right now. Does look like they could go far in the playoffs this year though....
That taco truck is so good I rented them out for my wedding. Highly recommend Cielito Lindo.
LFG Ballers! 💚⚾️💚⚾️🫡
Let's goooo!!!
Yeah they have to build a dome or roof of some kind. There's no other option.
I agree, to call this Professional Baseball is a big stretch.
You kept calling them the Ballers which is accurate but they appeared to use the team name B’s which is hysterical being as they are not the A’s
Lol! Someone at the game said the mascot should have been a bee
Come to a Roots game homie!
I think I'm going to have to! I've never been, and a lot of people have said the same thing!
Sudden death home run derby sounds amazing.
Right! Someone should tell Rob Manfred
you should go see the roots when they start playing in the colosseum
Now that the nuts have left Modesto I hope to have a pioneer league team join just like Oakland. Maybe bring back the old reds name?
I hope so!
The Yolo team moving out there could make sense. Their attendance is really bad in Davis.
Great video, keep going
Thank you!
Hi , I’m part of Entertainment Crew . Please come back so we can get you on the field to play a game lol 😂. But overall I’m glad you had an amazing time ❤
I guess I'm going to have to!
Great video. This all seems good and well (I especially appreciate the bike ride there and the energy seems great), but:
Thanks! I'm with you on all that. $20 isn't a screaming deal by any means, but at a sporting event in 2024, it's certainly reasonable.
Bro I went to a ballers game and I got to say play ball
sick!
My friends from Oakland used to say gentrification was bad. They still do; but now they say whilst posting a minute so I tend not to listen.
Your thumbnail photo is great
Thank you!
They have a play by play on 860 am
Hey where do you get your hats ?
The pinkish one is from my friend's restaurant. I made a video about it called "Journey to the world's best gas station." The blue one is from outer range brewery in CO.
Never underestimate a city getting behind a baseball replacement when their major or minor league affiliate leaves town. Portland had the Beavers leave 13 years ago and the Pickles have truly made up for it for those of us that don't want to go all the way to Hillsboro.
Hey Adam i was wondering in which part of Oakland you lived in? its ok if you aren't comfortable with sharing that information and also great video man :)
Thank you! I'd rather not share details, but I've been here for a a few years now!
That's a balk at 10:17
Good eye!
also: you need to get a ricoh GR3!
Looks like a cool camera! But appears a bit more focused on pictures than video. I just got a dji pocket and still trying to learn how to use it.
Ballers should be in pink, green is Grove Street.
:46 Oakland lost 4 pro teams? A's, Raiders, Warriors, who is the 4th? Good video.
The Seals! They had an NHL team way back in the day.
@@AdamDoesNotExist Yeah, I look it up after, I've never even heard of them.
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. But I do think the Giants have a very competent front office. Not sure MLB can bully them around exactly.
What other teams were lost in Oakland besides the Raiders and A's?
The Seals, then the Warriors.
One of my little leagues all star teams was right front of u. I know all of them lol
Cool!
Yo he's got pac pipe in this video w
Do they play with wood or metal bats?
Wood bats. There were some tense broken bat moments at this game
Great video but I have a question.. where the hell did that north face come from. I know you didn’t have it in your pocket. I call shenanigans on that, unless you had it in your prison pocket I need answers.
There is a shot of me grabbing it before I walk out the door. But honestly I'm more interested to hear your theory
@@AdamDoesNotExist Ricky Henderson saw you shivering and gave it to you off his back. Final answer.
I'm sure they would have credentialed you if you just gave them a call.
Yeah I might give them a call at some point. But for this I wanted to see what it would be like as any other fan showing up to a game for their first time.
FOUR???? What's the fourth!
The Seals!
The Ballers are not a professional team, they are an independent team, two completely different things
I believe they're both
Beer?
They've got an extensive selection
This is great experience for my left ear.
This makes me wish baseball worked by a relegation system, so we could fall in love with and support our minor league and unaffiliated teams. RIP River Sharks
It will never happen in American sports. The owners would never allow that. But I couldn't agree more. It would be great for the game.
What giants games are you going to that cost $250 lol I went to the entire twins series last weekend for $5 a piece
BYOB BALLERS
😂
The “half way house in Sacramento”.
Not the best way to pickup subscribers. 😂
kinda lame they have the nets up so you can't catch a foul ball
You can still easily catch foul balls, you just wont get hit directly in the face by a 90mph ball
If it means anything me and the Boys are going to A’s games just to boo them until they leave for Vegas.
Between them and the Raiders y’all got fucked.
