I live in Australia would it be possible for you to post one to here thank you Wayne Bunch
Yes, that's possible for sure. I've shipped boat kits to Australia just a couple weeks ago, actually. Please send me an email at cozyrc1@gmail.com or contact me on Facebook
If you let me know how much it is and how I can pay you so I can arrange a kit with you, please

That's not a very polite way to ask something😒

A great video
Thanks!
13:11 Any reason using laminating epoxy instead of D3 wood adhesive ?
No particular reason, wood glue would have worked too!
I really wish we could run our mini monos together sometime! It would be such a fun!
I agree, that would be a blast! Whi knows someday 😉
great test with the strakes maybe 5s? on better water
It's really interesting, and I gained some knowledge on lifting strakes and their behavior. This run was on 3S, and I will definitely try 4S as well! 80+ km/h should be easily possible 💪 For the M500 I will try several setups, one of them being a 2848 1980kV on 6S! 😎
@CozyRC good kv👌
Great work, Jan. I was thinking something about the banana connectors you use. While using those 4mm connectors, faced some problem's as connection was melting due to high current. And this connector moves inside. So i decided to move from this to solid 4mm bullet connectors.
Good comment, thanks! I have both the banana style and the solid ones. I never had issues with either of them, actually. But the banana connectors I use are tight fit as well
Oh, I like that wire tie job. Forgot all about that trick we used to use on 1:1 cars for the ignition wires on old V8s. Very nice results with that motor and the strake mod
Thanks! I got the tie-wrap mod from one of my RC friends. It's easy to apply and effective 👍
@CozyRC Agreed 👍
There is a calculation I use to get close to the right prop for changes of kv 11.1 x kv x prop size so let’s say 3514 prop a 3514 is 35x1.4 =49mm total pitch,so 11.1 x 3450 x 49=1.876,455 now let’s try 2950 kv x11.1 using a 3516 prop so 35x1.6= 56mm total pitch. So 11.1 x2950x56=1.833720 so this is very close to the first calculation so I think given the extra torque and power and possibly less voltage sag this prop even though it’s a fraction less on the calc it might go slightly faster or at least the same. It’s just a ball park calc or a starting point for bench prep for prop choice when changing KV.
I use a similar calculation, where I can also calculate the theoretical speed. I make calculations for my profession (Mechanical Engineer) so I love playing with numbers and put the theory at the test 😎
@ sweet,I do the same, based on the resulting speeds from the calculations across all my tests.
Perhaps needs a bit more positive angle on the strut to loosen up the hull.
I agree, but this short stinger is very difficult to tilt up. Therefore, I'm using a longer stinger on the successor of this Mini Mono, the M500 😎
Ohh I think you could use bigger prop. The motor is much bigger than Rocket and has lower kV. Of course its just my suggestion but in my opinion you should beat your top speed with Rocket motor despite Turnigys lower kv 😊
Both motors perform great in this boat. I will definitely try bigger props with the Turnigy motor, and I will run it on 5S as well!
@CozyRC 5s sounds like crazy! I cant wait😊
Oops, sorry I meant 4S 😅. Should be fast still!
Everything you build runs perfectly
Thanks! I guess it's partly luck and some experience by now ;)

I just discovered your channel and I am amazed by the work ! I am totally beginner in RC world. How did you start ? I am really lost, did you already have building skills?
@halimbklm674 I started with Lego Duplo basically since I was born. I promoted to a motorized Lego train at the age of 6, and stepped up to Lego Technic around 8 years old. Then, I bought my first Tamiya RC car at age 13 and I'm hooked on RC's ever since! I build boats for 20 years now, but basically, I'm building stuff since I was born 😄

Hi, im building a scale aquarama styled wooden boat. Should i go for single or twin motor? I would love to see it go fast on the beach but not crazy race fast
About 90cm in length
@MALBACHinc Single or twin motor can both go fast and work well. I don't know about your experience, but a single motor is definitely easier to build and setup.
@ thanks man, my experience is zero both in driving and building the boat, but i do know how to build a cutting plan on softwares and exited to plank the design . I agree single motor is more suitable for inexperienced boater
Where can I purchase the tools, hardware and carbon fibre you used?

What’s the name of the sanding tool
It's a DIY sanding block. Just a flat piece of wood with a handle and a piece of sandpaper. It's easy to make yourself 😉
Are those tubings weight for holding it down?
Those extrusion profiles are put on the bottom to keep it absolutely flat!
Hmmm I finally followed Robert's advice and took WoodPrix instructions. It's great for beginners, and has some advanced stuff too.

The tube size is 5x3mm. I used this one: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_ExOEpKM You mean the brass tube for the steering rod feed through? That is a left-over I had. You can use any tube you want. I once used a cut pen cap 😎

Congrats on your channel's growth, Well deserved!

See how the front goes light near top end ? need to think about the aerodynamics on the sponsons . Try a set of sponsons with parallel sides or an F1 style front wing made from cola cans . All cheap as chips , so doesnt matter if they fall off.Always a pleasure to watch your builds . your mind set and build quality are what makes it such a joy. Best regards Paul Baxter
Thanks, Paul! Yes, she ran light at the front! Aero is one solution indeed. Another way is the strut angle. It probably needs a slight down angle from where it is now. I appreciate your feedback!
@@CozyRC I Must have made 25/30 over the years for circuit racing, so had to be able to slow down, and strut angle gets you so far, then the nose can dig in at the start of the heat and everyone else goes wizzing by.
Very cool little rigger, Cozy! It looks really smooth to drive and holds in the turns like a rigger should 👍 .. that crash was crazy😄 reminds me of that thing Conor McGregor used to do before a fight. Stand there and windmill the arms😂
Yes, that was a crazy shakedown! I'm not sure how it was caused. Let's how it was a single occasion 😅
Humm the motor screams. It looks like the prop is holding back. I guess that is what you need to figure out huh.
This prop is a good start, but probably it will run much better with a 638 or even a 640 prop. I guess we will find out 😎
Great maiden within 1 kmh with a bench tune. The day you guy race is going to make a great video. Can’t wait.
Thanks James! I was happy with that very similar top speed as well! We will race, but not in a physical head to head, because we live in different countries 😄. The first goal is to get this boat to 100km/h with the stock setup! (Prop charge allowed)
Can you help me with my boat? I take your drawings of a G force twin moto, a little bit scale it to 600mm for 1 motor. Put there rocketRC 4074 2250kv for 6s. But have a problems, she's doesn't run( Prop takes air, and don't push a boat normally. I suggest that I made short tail shaft. Can we speak on some messenger or email so I can show you photos and videos? I also built another boat, 1000mm, there almost the same situation 😢
You can send me a message on FB 👍
Nice little boat)
Thank you 😎
can we get the finished 3d printed mono video, that was rly cool
That video will definitely come! But it's near freezing here, so I wait for warmer weather before I work on the 3D printed boat again.
Thanks! The key is to reduce the drag of the boat as much as possible. That's why I'm going to try a thin carbon rudder blade next. And yes, you have to build your boats very strong if you want them to survive a big crash! I will speed run this boat for a new record this year 😎
Does it?
Check the video conclusion 😉
As always., keep it cozy!
