The starkes are thumps up for me! I definetely like them! More scale look and better performance (at lest at the starights). I ll try them in my future projects!👍

I think it's an interesting topic, and I made many runs without strakes, with great success. Now I will optimize the hull with the strakes, aiming for higher speeds and improved cornering!
That little boat is fast! Looks very clean, too. Excellent work. I mostly scratch-build RC planes. Never tried scratch-building an RC boat other than a slow Tug Boat to retrieve my Sea Planes from the lake. This little fast one Looks fun.

@@CozyRC In the 80's i worked on the racing model Viper, The Hammonds won the late 70's world champs with a version of it . The chine over hang was almost the same depth from transom to bow and really helped with the spinning out in fast corners , So by adding new side panels and filling the hull gap, easy to make,
hi, you have to lower their thickness, round them slightly on the quick part, leave them almost at a right angle towards the inside and soften the outside part, I don't know if I explained myself, maybe for that hull they are too wide, that square you used I think is 5mmx5mm, I used them for your 80cm drawing, good work!.

Maybe the lifting strakes should be on an angle? If i remember right i've read they had about 5' angle and maybe the lenght also has something to do with it. Not sure about any of these things but thought might be interesting if you wanted to test things. Its a funny boat, that's for sure.

Great vid. 👍. I wonder what effect a 'stepped hull' would be. In theory, the air pockets create less drag & higher speeds. Regal (full size) power boats use them, successfully improving speed & efficiency... 🇬🇧

Haha, yes, this hull took a beating already! I always use a double layer transom. This hull is also very light, so the impact of a crash is not so big. 😎

Yes, je hebt gelijk. Ik heb vaak genoeg met deze boot gevaren (met gps) dat ik weet dat deze snelheid plausibel is. Maar voor een officiële meting telt deze niet idd
@@CozyRC verder vaart de boot zeer netjes. je kan eventueel de stakes nog wat korter maken om het bochtgedag te verbeteren. zie je vaak bij de wedstrijd boten ook dat de stakes een stuk korter gemaakt worden.

You're almost right. The 61km/h and 63km/h were both with a 2.2Ah lipo. And the top speed with the 3.0Ah lipo was 72km/h. All with the same 936 prop. The fastest prop so far, is the 436 TFL 3-blade prop. I will try more props in the future, and I will improve the strakes as you suggested me 👍😎

The boat runs different, and more dry. I like the lively handling now, but the strakes need some work to improve the cornering a bit ✌️
