This is horrible, no one wants to lose a friend, family member, or even fellow car-lover to any accident. As much as I love speed and motorsports, we are hitting a point where car power is getting out of hand vs. the actual, not perceived, skill of the driver. We have 800-hp Hellcats and even more ridiculous 700+ hp trucks and Jeeps (high center of gravity, high mass) being driven by people who got their driver's licenses by driving around the block and backing up between some cones. Get trained people, and no ego is worth your life or even your car/reputation. NASA and SCAA have lots of really low-cost classes on how to actually drive. If you spend $1k on an exhaust, spend the $75 to fix the nut behind the wheel. I went to Autocross meets in the '90s and track days at mid-Ohio, and there were plenty of people who would actually pass on their knowledge for free. If you are going to race, get a helmet, get a harness, and invest in tires before anything else. Be safe, so we can continue to have a ball with our cars!!!!!

There is a video of a gr wrx or sti racing a mustang i think. they hit a hump in the road, gets some air and the gr losses control and wrecking into guy he was racing.

I follow 1stock and the rest of the nyc roc crew as well as the street alpha podcast that they are on religiously. He was born a genius, lived as a hero and died as a legend doing what he loved doing point blank period. While its tragic I don't think a harness and roll cage etc would have made a difference at the speed he was going. Ayrton Senna Died at the racetrack in a car much more safety regulated. A few months before his death 1 stock had crashed at a track totaling his black bmw. My point is that death and this sort of thing can happen at the track, off the track, with safety equipment, without safety equipment. When its your time its your time but the legacy he left behind will live on and he def was so much more than a street racer as he literally helped put the b58 platform on a whole other level. He impacted so many people and inspired a generation. We all have an expiration date at some point and anytime any of us get behind the wheel to do what we do we run the risk. IMO its a blessing if we go out of here doing what we love doing so long as it isn't harming anyone else or take anyone else out and I do know that in NYC many of their tracks are closed down so the street racing thing is huge out there with there being massive pots behind it but I also have watched enough videos to see them doing it on streets where they block everything off and keep civilian traffic out of it while they are doing it so while its not as safe as being at a certified track they do treat it as such with many races being track prepped on the streets and no civilian traffic etc.

Really tough situation it’s not even a normal accident, it was the build going wrong. If that didn’t happen it was all good. This bring it to the track argument has so many reasons for some people it’s not possible, and if someone asks for a pull when your on a highway 9/10 ppl will go for it. Should it be on a track? Yeah, but 9/10 car people evn spouting that will fold when put in that spot so idk hard call lol

People text, eat/drink, do their makeup, and generally stare off into space driving semi normally all the time. I am almost entirely diamond focused when I drive. I've been trained by some of the best and have driven all over the world, even learned how to drive on the Autobahn as a kid. I'd wager many of us are better drivers on average, drive more maintained cars, know our cars better than your typical commuter. I refuse to fuck around near typical commuters, people who do are assholes and idiots. It's never going to be worth it to put some random family at risk. Racing around general traffic is like climbing a mountain with a family of five hanging from you, if you fall alone you're the only one who'll die. It's a risk we should take alone, and I wish there were more opportunities to race responsibly. I'd love to build a track near every major city, it would be great if the money was there to do it.

This is I set a LOT of money on fire to get into stage rally. Don’t want to mangle a family in a SXS out on a forest road.

I plan on getting a 2025 tS and I am 100% getting unequal length headers for it. I love how it sounds. I will daily it, my neighbors will hate me, but I don't care.

Terrible news. I love fun cars, but this is why I don't race. Of course anything can happen, but please, if you do street race, be careful. Stay away from civilian drivers so you don't hurt a family driving home from a soccer game.

I had a friend crash and flip 6 times with no seat belt on while we were racing on the highway on the way home from school. Have fun, but be safe out there.

Just my opinion. I hate the look of sti wing on vb. There is no VB Sti. There is no Sti wing for the vb. The rear of the vb is already busy. This just makes it look like it's trying too hard. But if you like it. Good for you.

The wang has arrived! does it make any noise when you are at highway speeds?

Question... are these open or closed when the little drain plug is all the way up? I installed them and went 3k miles, literally nothing in the cans. Wondering if I left them wide open instead of closed.

as sexy as it is, i really think subaru dropped the ball by not offering the oem sti wing as an accessory option for the wrx. Like, if you wanted to you should be able to factory build the car and have the option to add the wing. It's such a bummer too because you have to settle on aftermarket parts to which quality will vary. Ik you can import the actual wing from japan and what not but still, i wouldn't mind paying for it here in the states. love the vids, my favorite wrx channel, love your car, dont stop!

I installed the Noble version and had some similar troubles. I put the whole wing together and had someone hold it while bolting to the trunk. I almost karate chopped the wing at one point but it’s on and holding strong. I went with the black wing on a white VB.

Looks so sick on a VB, I got got an STI trunk swap on my VA WRX last week and it completely changed the way the car looks.
