I say he was nerfed because how he got hit by marco when he could have done some really cool spiderman stuff to avoid getting hit and yet miles gets out of there pretty well or when kraven kills pete so easily without him fighting or sum restrain or when miles couldn't beat kraven, kraven couldn't beat peter with the vemon, but yet miles beats peter while with vemon? Plus wasn't Pete healed after getting anti-symbiote and isnt anti-symbiote strong against symbiotes? I was expecting more of a fight from him when facing vemon, but ill give him that given he wasn't mentally ready Thats why i say hes nerfed and also miles barely got good screen time.

Considering in the comics Peter has completely lost his powers due to him being depressed him dealing with the death of Aung May would be a genuine explanation for what happened with the fridge. Also for people saying that his spider sense should’ve warned him about the fridge Peter being around Venom has negatively affected his spider sense in the comics before

So many people who loved the first game are complaining about him in the second game, because I feel like they tend to forget he still a human with personal problems. This is a nice explanation, also can you explain how Mary Jane didn’t die or suffer too much damage from throwing Peter out of the way? I’m pretty sure a venom attack would have punched a hole in her chest.

I insist, the people who criticize the Spider-man of the sequel as nerfed, it is because they deny everything that came out in Spider-man ps4. There characters without powers they humiliate him. Spider-man in the sequel is extremely strong, and now counting that he has the Anti Venom, except for 616 he is one of the most powerful Spider-man in the Spider Verse.

Doesn’t really excuse why he was nerfed before that, or portrayed like a dweeby pussy (despite being a mature chad in the first game) OR why his dialogue makes him come across like an idiot.

I mean finally someone explains why that scene wasn’t stupid. The entire game, even before that cutscene Peter has been stating he is just tired. He’s gone through hell in this game physically and mentally and damn near almost dies if it wasn’t for the symbiote, which actually buffed him and made him feel a lot more stronger and more energetic, so after all that time when he finally does get the suit off he’s reverted back to normal, and no it’s not a “Nerf” from his prior self in the first entry. He’s been doing this thing for over a decade now.. and sadly he’s gonna retire soon. I loved this game, I still have fun with it, and I love every character.

Even with all these other points, I still never understood the hate on the fridge scene. Like people seem to think he’s fucking Omni-man and the fridge should’ve just shattered upon landing on Peter. Even at his peak of strength, a fridge landing on him will still fuckin hurt, and even though he has the strength to lift it, he didn’t expect it and so wasn’t putting any resistance when it landed, so it’s basic physics that the fridge would push him downward. Like ‘sorry spider-whiners, it took Peter a whole 4 SECONDS to yeet a fridge off himself and get back to fighting symbiotes minutes later.
