Every time I hear Mario fans talk about the feats that Mario has done, they are always exaggerating a bit and I know this because I played through those games. The difference between both franchises is that Sonic games are more serious and tend to have more solid foundations for power scaling (kinda like anime). But Mario games are usually wacky worlds with many things that usually aren't explained like magic or the power ups, and when something happens, it can only be taken literally by face value (such as the bullet Bill/projectile debate). Not to mention that the Mario guy fumbled a lot of his arguments and kept repeating himself too much which makes conversations more annoying to listen to.

So my point, Mario beats Sonic, except for racing.

The thing with Hyper Sonic, he really doesn't have any feats, and Hyper Sonic hasn't been used since Sonic 3&K. I would Argue Super Sonic would be stronger because all we've seen Hyper Sonic do is able to wipe all badniks of the screen with the hyper dash.
In a way it comes down to this and that’s due to someone comparing two different forms my guess is that if hyper sonic was put into a modern sonic game or tv show he’d mostly be stronger then current super sonic since it’s basically *the extra bonus version* and since he can wipe out badniks which super sonic couldn’t do in Sak3 who knows how powerful a hyper sonic would be if it were to happen again

Okay here’s the thing, Sonic can beat Mario in a race, but Mario can beat Sonic in physical strength, durability, experience, but most of all every single power ups. Mario can use the power ups to defeat Sonic and even Sonic can use the power of the Chaos Emeralds, Mario can use the power stars or the grand stars (if that ever happen, MAKE IT HAPPEN NINTENDO) to surpass the chaos emeralds. But if you watch the Bowser Vs. Dr. Eggman, the Wonder Flower can alter the entire universe. If Mario gets the Wonder Flower, Sonic can become slow or in the new Mario and Luigi game, there’s a new ability call the time stop which can literally stop time and hit Sonic as hard with his hammer. So my point, Mario beats Sonic, except for racing.
