I'm glad to see someone talking about this video. I watched it myself and didn't leave any comments or likes (because he shouldn't even have his platform if he's going to review games the way he does), but I felt like I was having an aneurysm listening to Mayo. Also, something I wanted to point out, he blatantly used someone else's footage without even so much as a "Credit to (Blank)" edit. It was when he was talking about City and during the Deadshot fight. To me, this brings his credibility into question. What's worse is that this wasn't the first time it happened either. So, in case you didn't hate Mayo enough, there you go.
Forgot the TH-camr, but someone else did an actual estimate of how long you use the Batmobile for throughout the campaign of Arkham Knight and it's actually closer to 15%-20% So the 87% that dude came up with is insane.
I’m glad he enjoyed Arkham origins it feels weird to spend such a large amount of the review just trashing on Arkham night instead of focusing on what you enjoyed in origins. Something occurred to me...the batmobile probably took up 80% of his playtime because he's just that bad at driving. Sure, a driving section might be designed to take up 10 minutes, but in this guy's hands? Three hours, easy.
Phew 1 minute in and you corrected yourself. I actually just finished my borderline annual playthrough of the series, and Knight has some major step backs I think go underreported, in City/Asylum quickfire gadgets out of combat are borderline perfect, whip the camera to the direction you want the gadget, quickfire, go. In Knight Batman has to face the item making timing riddler challenges unnecessarily harder. This is exasperated when you cant dpad switch gadgets. Similarly Batman is dumb in a large portion of the endgame group fights for the same problem, huge group of enemies, 4 have stun batons, fire REC, it hits unarmed goon, immediately attacked by one of the four, (you might get away). They give enough fun tools to hide this, but it is a problem with the game. Edit, In defense of Under the Mayo not talking about the story for Knight. It is the weakest of series imho. Asylum is an interesting adaptation of Grant Morrison's Novel. City has a great story. Origins has the best story. And knight has a bad retelling of Under the Red Hood. If I was to recommend any of the Arkham games Knight would be last. Knight comes with a checklist and a warning before i recommend it. Do you like Batman outside of the game? Only play Knight if you really have to, otherwise watch/read Under the Red Hood. Have you played every other Arkham game? Go for it, also you may need to ignore the Batmobile. Real Reasons the Batmobile is awful: 1) watching Batman clearly kill people in a car that drives like the worst Fast and Furious movie(Tokyo Drift). 2) interrupted by tank battles, piloted by the "guns are for cowards" hero. 3) makes riddler story the worst of the series. Seriously City had cool SAW style traps, Knight has bad racetracks. 4) stealth tank fights. 5) chases where the APC take 90⁰ turns doing 80, and batman has tokyo burnout, seriously hate the handling. Ive played the story enough that I rarely have to repeat and missions and I curse out the handling everytime regardless. 6) the entire inclusion relies on Jason not manning the opponents vehicle, creating a plot hole on top of the ludonarrative dissonance. Incorporating the car into riddler puzzles was cool, whipping through Gotham with criminals in the car was fun. Transitioning from car to air to car was bad ass. Unfortunately their justification for inclusion was weak at best.
You CAN turn hints off in Origins (My favorite entry in the series) however, turning off hints turns off counter indicators as well, if he did that, unknowingly his review may be less favorable.

The biggest issue is he’s trying to rage bait while also being serious about his take. You can make a rage bait review, you can make a review with a bad take that you won’t admit you’re wrong about. You can’t do both. He tries deflecting criticism of objective fact using his subjective opinion, but in the same breath says “well it’s ok to like bad games”. Even if he hated origins he’d never had admitted it anyway. He Trojan horsed this video to get more petty and tripled down on his knights takes. And the amount of times I’ve heard him say “this felt like Batman” or “accurate to Batman” two minutes after hearing “I don’t know Batman so how would I know?”. He doesn’t know the character but his planet sized ego and massive insecurity of his opinions makes him think he has any say on the character. It’s also hilarious seeing him speak on challenge after bitching in knight that he couldn’t remember prompts. He’s legitimately worse at the combat than I was at 11 years old. Hopefully we, as a community, can move on from this clown. The videos clowning him have been great but it’s time we ignore him. He wants the negative attention. Let him rot with his dead channel.
The only criticism of the Batmobile is that you actively have to disengage with it to cut down the Time spent in it. It’s fun for the puzzles that require it, and the race tracks is great. The tank combat is forgettable but everything else in the game is on another level.
The tank combat is actually solid. The only bad thing is that you have to fight with it and can’t sneak past in some sections. Even in the tunnels you sneak past and still need the Batmobile

my only experience with arkham knight is on the switch version when it came out and out of all the arkham games my favourite to play is arkham knight. the only bad arkham game I would say is Origins Blackgate... maybe

I love all the Arkham games equally but I definitely had the most fun with Knight. Asylum, City, and Origins are the most nostalgic but Knight is the most fun.

I’ve replayed Batman Arkham knight 5 times and done all side quests, including riddler trophies (I’m not joking) After playing the game for the third time, yeah, the Batmobile can be pretty boring to play with. But, Batman Arkham Knight is my favorite Batman game. Great combat, great gadget, great movement/traversal, great everything Overall, it actually felt like i was vengeance, that I was the night, that I was BATMAN!!!

And the amount of times I’ve heard him say “this felt like Batman” or “accurate to Batman” two minutes after hearing “I don’t know Batman so how would I know?”. He doesn’t know the character but his planet sized ego and massive insecurity of his opinions makes him think he has any say on the character.
It’s also hilarious seeing him speak on challenge after bitching in knight that he couldn’t remember prompts. He’s legitimately worse at the combat than I was at 11 years old.

The only criticism of the Batmobile is that you actively have to disengage with it to cut down the Time spent in it. It’s fun for the puzzles that require it, and the race tracks is great. The tank combat is forgettable but everything else in the game is on another level.
The tank combat is actually solid. The only bad thing is that you have to fight with it and can’t sneak past in some sections. Even in the tunnels you sneak past and still need the Batmobile
Another thing about the tunnels after the cloudburst goes off is that it feels like your babysitting the Batmobile making sure it keeps up

I love all the Arkham games equally but I definitely had the most fun with Knight. Asylum, City, and Origins are the most nostalgic but Knight is the most fun.

After playing the game for the third time, yeah, the Batmobile can be pretty boring to play with. But, Batman Arkham Knight is my favorite Batman game. Great combat, great gadget, great movement/traversal, great everything

On average the Batmobile really does only take up a small percentage of the game, regardless of how it was implemented. For this guy to throw out a number that is not only radically inaccurate but doesn’t give any evidence to back up his claim is very disingenuous.
