I Made a 70's Witch Outfit in ONE Day! | DIY Whimsigoth & Witch Core
I know we've just had Halloween but it's still spooky season and I've really wanted to build up some of my witchy style lately to pad out my wardrobe.
On this channel there tends to be more of a focus on older historical styles whenever we do these kinds of makes but I do really love a lot of the fashions of the 1970s: A lot of those flowing, bohemian styles and luxe buttoned up pieces combine so well and are just screaming for me to turn them witchy.
This decade's fashion blends so nicely with a lot of gothic style which is another area I'm trying to build up so in this video we're throwing it all together into an outfit and seeing what happens! (and also because my next project is taking ages and I've been very ill and this really needed to be quick so have fun while I stress over getting these items made in just ONE DAY...)

I Made A Halloween Costume Using ONLY Halloween Decorations!
มุมมอง 6K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
I made my Halloween costume out of Halloween decorations! (Something which is NOT easy if you're in the UK...) For Halloween this year I decided to embrace the call to just give up on society and become a bog witch living in the woods... To make things harder on myself though I chose to make this costume using ONLY Halloween decorations. Now in other countries like the US it's fairly easy to fi...
I Made My WEDDING DRESS in ONE WEEK! *p.s it's haunted*

I don't know why I wanted my wedding dress to feel a little haunted, it just felt right. This has been a massive sewing project, the wedding has consumed all of my time the past month (hence why this video is so late going up). I am so happy to share this with you all, I absolutely love how my dress turned out and am happy to report my wedding day was perfect! 🖤 Very sorry if this video is a li...
I Made A Bunch of Fantasy Cloaks! *in 3 days* | Easy DIY Sewing
มุมมอง 6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Bring back cloaks! As we are now heading into crunch leaf season it seemed the perfect time to make myself a collection of cloaks for every occasion. Plus, these are so easy to make!! I 100% recommend for con crunching, last minute halloween costumes, ren faires, LARPs (Live Action Roleplay) - or just replacing a mundane dressing gown. It felt so nice to make something simple for a change, defi...

I Made a Medieval Fantasy Dress! (inspired by Merlin)
มุมมอง 4.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
I have been dying to make a medieval fantasy dress for the longest time and when I was finally brave enough to use my blue velvet, I just couldn't get the idea of a Merlin inspired dress out of my head (plus I've been rewatching BBC's Merlin lately). My MET GALA Dress was CURSED!
มุมมอง 12K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
I may not have been invited to the ball but that isn't going to stop me dressing up for it! The Met Gala has such an amazing theme this year that I HAD to make something for it. My design has many historical influences from Edwardian Era fashion, in both the silhouette and embellishments, including my first attempt at ribbon embroidery. This has been a dream project for me, even if it turned ou...
I Tried to Make an Edwardian Corset (& only cried a little)
มุมมอง 4.3K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
This Edwardian Corset dam near broke me 😂 Probably the most skilled sewing project I have attempted thus far and boy was I not ready for it. I used the TVE01 1903 Edwardian Corset pattern from Truly Victorian, it was actually fantastic and had great instructions, all mishaps were entirely down to my lack of sewing ability. Combining this corset with the other Edwardian Undergarments I had previ...

I'm in the process of doing a similar makeover for a room I have as well, going for a medieval theme. I had the exact same idea of putting in wood "support beams", and I was thrilled to see a video going for the same thing. Question: Do you find wallpaper or paint easier to work with? I'm trying to decide what I want to go with, but I've never worked with wallpaper.
Watching you make this crown was thrilling...I hope when you are ready...you will take orders from brides to make these ..hey are fabulous reproductions of the real thing and would make a bride look so regal....I will continue to watch you,,,!!!!!!
I love your wedding dress....you are a superstar...
HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS GONNA SAY THE VAMPIRE EPISODE OF DR WHO???
Nice! Love seeing the struggle to keep focus on a long project - it's so relatable to me
Fun
You're so cool and have increased my yearning for such a garment of my own :D Thanks for sharing this great video with us, and I hope you feel better soon!
OOOH! How pretty!! 😍
I’m not finished watching but I hope you use the blue zip as your something blue!!
That dress was seriously beautiful. I really loved it.❤
Cool 😀
Thank you 🖤
I love the outfit soooo much ❤❤❤❤
Thank you 🥰🖤
All of a sudden I feel the need to dig through my stash for a ruana cloak!
Now that we’re getting into colder weather it’s great to wear around the house 😄🖤
چقدربده که به سوالات جواب نمیدید واینکه سرعت اموزشتو بالاست😐
Absolutely love that you just went with what you wanted: and if that is "haunted" and "doctor who vampire" that's amazing!
Aww thank you 🖤
I think the vest is my favorite part but that dress is fantastic as well. As someone who remembers the 70's, you hit the vibe. Also, make sure to take care of yourself first! We can wait for Elphaba as long as you need.
The vest is definitely going to become a new wardrobe staple for me 🖤🖤 & thank you, I’m feeling so much better now, very glad to finally be working on Elphaba 😁
Yep…. Watching this for the umpteenth time- WHERE did you get those postcards? I need them!! Or some similar to them!!! HELP ~
I got them from my local antique shop, they had an entire bookshelf with boxes and boxes of them. Most antique shops I’ve been in tend to have some, worth checking out whatever’s local to you🖤
thanks… I was even looking on etsy which also sells them… also… when you make a tiara…. Do you use some kind of DIY kit? I’ve decided I’m going to make one … I just don’t know how to begin.
I hope you are feeling better . Take care. I feel like someone needs to be handing you a cup of tea, and some protein. I sew but i can not create luke you do and I have never been as bold with the sewing as you are. You have true talent.
Aww thank you, I’m feeling much better now 🥰 are you working on anything currently?
Is there a reason you didnt decide to use something like a fusible interfacing? As someone who doesnt do dresses, I am in awe though!
Not particularly, I tend to shop deadstock or thrift everything so fusible interlining isn’t something I tend to come across, I’ve never actually used it before so I don’t really know what I’m missing out on 😅
@@MadameMyriad So, its like a web like substance with some ironable glue on it. So you can iron it onto your fabric and make it about 3 times as stiff/sturdy as before! There's ever all different weights and kinds for different effects.
I watched in awe as you just cut out your material how you wanted it without a pattern just confident that it will fit. I would be terrified of ruining the fabric and wasting the money 😢 I absolutely hate drawing around a pattern to cut out I would rather buy or download a new one. 🤗lazy I know.
I just used things I had, primarily pliers, wire cutters and tweezers. I don’t really tend to make tutorials but if you’re interested in learning more you should check out Austin Do’s channel (if you haven’t already), they have a lot more tiara videos than I do and tend to share more of the process and tools ☺️
@@MadameMyriad hello my friend .thank you for replying to my message. You are reallyand artist your works are great. And lwanted to know what glue you used to stick the gems. I have been look ing for this glue for a long time so that the gems dont come off . thank you for your guidance.❤️😍😘🌹
اندازه وبلندی تاج چقدر؟برای باردوم که سوال میکنم وجواب نمیدید🥺
I made mine to be roughly 7cm tall, I’m not sure what the dimensions of the real one are though. Sorry if I’ve missed you asking before, I try my best to answer as many comments as I can but sometimes they get buried, especially on older videos
I am johnny come lately to your channel, having only found it a few weeks ago. So I am only just finding out that Dan gets migraines. I sympathize with him far more than I can say. As one who has always gotten migraines, I sympathize so much, to the point that words can't express. I see a blackout curtain in my future.
I’m so sorry you suffer from them as well, I’m fortunate that I’ve only ever had one migraine in my life and it was excruciating, my heart goes out to anyone who goes through that regularly. Definitely get some black out curtains if you can, we have some in the living room and bedroom and they have been lifesavers for Dan.
Take care and use all the time you need to recover! It's crazy how many content creators work while unwell, please prioritise yourself!
That’s sweet of you to say, thank you 🥰 & I absolutely can’t complain, it’s far better than working while unwell back in my hospitality days
I'm actually wondering why you are making a dress if I'm honest as you have cut just about every corner you can, left raw edges not hemmed the bottom 🤦♀️ jeez if it wasn't that Important in the first place why make a slap up dress?! Getting married is supposed to be a special day all in and that means or supposed to mean what you are wearing. You should've just got a average dress! I've never seen this channel before and I definitely won't be returning I'm afraid. That dress was a awful mess!
Absolutely loved the finished result, immaculate vibes. The fact that you posted this video when I've also been ill with a cold and had to get through sewing a tunic for my Legolas cosplay for comic con at the end of the month! I felt the struggle completely - I hope you're feeling better!
Thank you 🥰 aww I feel your pain, good luck with your cosplay and I hope you feel better 🖤🖤
Awesome! Get well soon!
Thank you ☺️ already starting to feel loads better now 🖤
Be well soon! Remember to press all the seams, cuffs etc. when you do the finishing touches! It makes a heap of difference.
Love this it really is so beautiful and goes perfectly with the JB boots!
For a second there I was really impressed someone recognised them as Joe Brown boots 😂
Amazing but crazy
Haha I want that on a T-shirt 😅🖤
the black fabric is quite lovely.
It is one of my favourite fabrics, I got so lucky when I thrifted it 😍
The old wedding saying is something old something new something borrowed something blue put a penny in your shoe
That makes sense now, some mentioned the penny thing but I had no idea it was the end of the saying 😄
Discovered your channel recently and have been binging your videos. I love that you are so unapologetically your nerdy self (coming from a fellow nerd that is meant as a compliment)! When I started on this video I was initially SO disappointed to hear that you - of all people - had started doing the horrible vocal fry thing that all the it-girls do. It wasn’t until you explained you’ve been sick that the penny dropped for me. What a relief, that means I can keep watching your fabulous videos! 💝 I also love reading through all the advice in the comments, so please keep it coming fellow commenters.
Aww thank you 🥰 I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying my videos 🖤🖤 Also, what on earth is vocal frying?! 😂 I feel like I’m out of the loop on that one
Very cool 😀🧙♀️
Thank you 🖤👻
At 11:40 you look like a Dante Gabriel Rossetti portrait. Also, did you test for covid? Also also, I admire your energy. I don't have as much energy as you sick when I am 'well'. ❤
Oh wow, I do 😂 & we didn’t test for anything but we have isolated in the house for over a week and Dan wore a mask when he went back to work just incase, whether it was a bad cold or Covid we didn’t want to spread it because it was not fun 😅 & Tbf I was on about day 8 of being ill when I made this, on days 1-5 I barely moved from the sofa 😄
brilliant pattern transfer method!
Haha thank you 😄🖤
Beautiful
Thank you🖤
Well done! Even while “stupid” sick…you are AMAZING!! 😊
Aww, thank you 😄🖤
The first minute of this video sent me down a world-building rabbit-hole. Aurora wouldn't have worn that dress while in hiding, because the fairies weren't using magic - BUT, after Aurora is told she's a princess and gets hauled out of her forest home where she grew up and is living in a castle and told she has to dress "in a manner becoming her station", she might miss the relative simplicity of the clothes she grew up wearing, and the doll might be modelling a 'compromise' between the styles. Smocking ... 😍🥰 Your costume turned out great!
fabulous dress, I would have LOVED that in the 70s. BUT DON'T PUT YOUR FINGERS ON A VINYL! lol. Poor Elton...
Easy way to gather: use dental floss, zigzag over it with a wide stitch, gather!
Oh I’ve heard that trick with yarn before, I’ve got to try it at some point
Please take all the time you need, we really wish to see you well. As much as I loved to learn some draping, I wish you the best health💜
Aww thank you 🖤 I’m already starting to feel a lot better now ☺️
I love the 1960/1970s medieval and Edwardian revival. They are my fave fashions trend ever. Get well soon.
They do not get enough appreciation 😍😍 & thank you, I’m already starting to feel much better now
Wow, great job! I LOVE the white dress 😍 I hope you are feeling better Madame. 💖 Great music choices btw. =) And your wedding ring is *gorgeous* !!
Thank you! Finally starting to pick up now 🖤 & I don’t wear my rings often but that one is from the 70s so I couldn’t not wear it for this 😄
@@MadameMyriad Glad you are feeling a bit better!

I made a cloak last week for a kid at school who has just REALLY got into D&D. As dungeon master I decreed he needed a cloak. Conveniently someone gave me a load of velvet-y black fabric, I downloaded a pattern...and it made him cry he was so happy. Cool!!
