I'm perfectly flabbergasted by the totally candid manner you managed your way out of such a difficult, technically specific and time consuming project. These things require a team of jewellers for litteraly months (if not years) to achieve, and you copied it all by yourself in a matter of days. I've worked in high end jewellery for years, so I can tell you this was a BRAVE undertaking of yours. If I may give some advice, you should definitely invest in buying bare settings for your gems (either plain or hollow ones) to make the glueing phase less tricky. The tiaras are just that in the beginning : arrangments of different settings shaped in different designs and welded / microscopically screwed together. Then comes the gem setting phase : by carefully chipping some tiny weeny 'prongs' inside the setting case, the setter can then set the gem and ply the prongs on top of it to secure it in place. Not for the faint hearted, when you know the price of the gems involved in this process. Unfortunately, making it that way requires quite a lot of tools that can be very expensive. You could bypass this by using already made jewellery pieces that you can use as 'spare parts' (costume jewellery and specially brooches are a pretty useful resource / some suppliers like cupchain USA sell new empty settings, too). Some blank brooch bases have tiny holes (the ones for stitching an embroidered item to it), that could be useful to thread your fiddly friend through it. Also a solder gun could prove more effective than cyanoacrylic glue in the long term, although it requires a bit of practice. It's less toxic, that's a real plus point for you and your lungs. Anyway, as long as you're having fun while creating your tiaras, and in love with the end result, it's all that matters. Thanks a lot for sharing it with us all.
Ooo that’s a good idea, I couldn’t think how to add those velvet bases that real tiaras have, although I think I would have to do that as the very last step and add the bottom row at the end because… glue😂

It seems to me that at some point in the lifetime of this tiara, the teardrop green peals got turned into emerald, because on Victoria's portraits and the few after, these definitely look round like pearls
They do don’t they, that might just be the style of the artist though, I think all of the historical records of it being made by the jeweller always had it in emerald

Oooo! Queen Victoria's Indian Circlet, but with the original opals instead of the replacement stones. I've always wished it were in its original form, the way Prince Albert designed it. You would likely have the only opal version!
I just shared this video to my channel! I have almost 10,000 subscribers, mostly viewers who love the British Royal Family. I thought they'd love to see this video. They'll probably fall in love with your channel, just as I have! ❤
I've been fascinated with tiaras and crowns since I was a little girl, and I've watched a few other videos but I like your process the most. Some of the designers use a glue gun to attach the stones but I think that way makes them a mess if you look at the back of the tiara. The way you've made your crown looks elegant and beautiful. I really love it :)
Thank you ☺️ yea glue guns are way to messy for me most of the time, I am looking forward to trying some new methods going forward too, UV resin looks promising!
I really love your personality and I never thought a video like this existed I’m so happy my yt actually recommended me something worth watching this time lol 💞
Very nicely done! I haven’t read all 687 comments to see if someone mentioned it, but the royal family does have the lowest band of their tiaras wrapped in velvet ribbon to match the hair color of the wearer (White for Queen Camilla, pale straw for the Duchess of Edinburgh, taupe for the Princess of Wales, etc. It also improves comfort - so you could choose to cover the expose band that way. 👸🏼
Thank you 🖤 I did notice that on Diana’s tiara, I didn’t have a clue how to construct the extra bar though 😂 I think I might have a go for my next one though as I would like the comfort
Wow what an amazing job!! Well done! 🤩✨ As someone who’s spent hours at work staring at the actual tiara, in the Jewel Room at Kensington Palace (where it lives, not the V&A), my only criticism is that yours is set in silver rather than gold and seems quite a bit taller than the original - though that’s probably down to the limitations of your materials. A lovely video showing it clearly is here on TH-cam called ‘Preparing Tiaras for the Victoria Revealed Exhibition.’ But again, well done! 💗
Oh wow that’s crazy, you work there?! I definitely didn’t realise it wasn’t at the V&A so I appreciate you filling in that gap for me 😬 Thank you for the kind words and the specific tips are really nice to receive, genuinely!! 🥹Yeah it was definitely an availability thing. I did notice it was gold initially but I still had a fair amount of silver wire and gem chains left from my first crown. Thank you again so much!!
Thank you so much 😊 🖤 if you’re interested in crown making you should check out AustinDo’s channel, they’ve made loads and actually inspired me to make my first one
This is beautiful! Emeralds are my favourite gemstone, but green glass is a surprisingly good substitute! The algorithmic served your video up to me, and I am so impressed I have immediately subscribed to your channel 👍🏻
so happy to find you! I have several tiara replicas! you did an awesome job! I would love to see you do the Girls of Great Britain tiara.. it's one of my faves!
Thank you so much I’m glad you think so! 🖤The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara was one of the first ones added to my list so hopefully I will get round to it at some point. It’s so beautiful!
Quick share by an admiring newbie. If you've never used fabric glue for gems I find it more super than super glue as it's meant to stand up to washing where Super Glue brand breaks down. I bought a lovely blouse 20 years ago from a charity shop and wear it very often so it is often machine washed and dried and no gem has ever fallen off so an article kept dry ought to fare well too.😊
I'm another rando brought by the algorithm, but I do LOTS of crafts, and now I want to recreate tiaras. (I recently found 2 well-made tiaras at a thrift shop, and *had* to get them!) To not glue your fingers to the tiara so much, they make reusable, silicone finger guards. like a soft (gel-like) flexible thimble covering appropriately half the finger. (in the US sold in 2-packs for ~3) They're marketed as being for hot glue, but they'd work just as well for this. (even better with UV gel that someone else suggested.) It seems like your glue would peel off easily, like hot glue does, but even if it doesn't work, it'd be better than peeling your fingers off.
I strongly encourage everyone to take up tiara making 😄 Also I want to go to your thrift stores, you found two tiaras?! The silicon finger things sound really good, thanks for the suggestion!
I am so hooked on them 😂 This one costs around £40 but I didn’t have to buy any wire this time. My first one cost around £85 but there was tonnes of wire and stones left over that I used in this one. And even now I still have loads of stones in different sizes and some wire (although I will need to restock wire for my next one). So as a whole I guess somewhere between those two figures 😄
Absoutely gorgeous! The tiara is as well! 😉 I vote that you do some of Empress Josephine's tiaras. They were all stunning. Also, my favorite is the Marie Louise Diadem which Napolean gifted to Marie on their wedding day and is displayed in the Smithsonian museum in DC.
Aw thank you 😄 Empress Josephine had so many beautiful tiaras! And I hadn’t seen the Marie Louise Diadem before, I just read up on the history and what happened to the emeralds. It would definitely be a challenging make!
How lovely! My thought for you is to take mesh (like tulle) and glue your jems down to that fabric, and then mount the fabric to the wire frame. You can use a sodering iron to melt away any mesh that is exposed, so you can't see the fabric, but it gives you many more points of contact!
That look stunning!! This is my first video of yours, and I'm excited to check out the video of how the other one was made. I have a crown suggestion for you: Queen Alexandra's Kokoshnik Tiara. I know it's much simpler in design, but when it comes to crowns and tiaras, this has always been a favorite of mine, and it would certainly be easy to match it with gowns you may want to make in the future. Great job!! :D
Aww thank you 🥰 I almost made that one for this video! It was my first choice (because it looks easy and I was intimidated by making something more complex) but I thought I’d give a few options and let people vote in my community tab. The emerald tiara won but Queen Alexandra’s came in second, and it’s still very much on my to do list 😄
For the green stones, maybe also try making a flat chain of circle loops by looping and twisting. This will give a round wire base to stick the stones to. Glue will then have multiple points of contact with the stone. Lovely work. Lots of work.
Ah, don't see the link - thought i posted it. Here it is again for the other person. th-cam.com/users/shortskvXMSm3wA7U You can actually hold the very end and get a full straight wire so you don't waste. Or do small sections at a time of a coil and cut off only the straight pieces.
It looks amazing! A great success. It’s also a huge inspiration, you make the idea of a custom tiara approachable. If i’d ever attempt something like this, I would attempt to use some solder for the metal backed gems, to see if it can be done with slightly less glue.
tip!! when making gem clusters you could print or draw the template and put it under the clingfilm!!!
You are a genius. I cannot believe that never occurred to me but wire shape did 😂 I will take that forward for next time, thank you
@@MadameMyriad omg right! My thoughts exactly!!

I just shared this video to my channel! I have almost 10,000 subscribers, mostly viewers who love the British Royal Family. I thought they'd love to see this video. They'll probably fall in love with your channel, just as I have! ❤
Thank you, that’s so thoughtful of you!🖤 You have no idea how much you’ve made my day ☺️
You're so talented!
Thank you, that’s so kind of you to say 🥰
I LOVED YOUR ENDEAVOURS OF CREATING MAGIC
Thank you so much! They are definitely becoming something I HAVE to do again!!
This was really great! lots of glue is always a good backdrop. Superglue struggles with specific metals and plastics-it just wont work sometimes
Thank you 🥰
I’m glad you agree! 😂 I thought it might seem like overkill but it did turn out to be the best option!
Your video is wonderful and I love your finished crown. Nice job. Thanks for sharing your process.
Thank you so much! 🥰
This is the most amazing thing ever! I’m so happy to have found your channel, your content is 🔥🔥🔥
Aww thank you 😄🖤 that’s so kind of you to say ☺️
This tiara is so gorgeous!! So impressive
You’re so kind to say that ☺️🖤
I really love your personality and I never thought a video like this existed I’m so happy my yt actually recommended me something worth watching this time lol 💞
Thank you so much!!☺️ I’m glad you enjoyed the project🖤
Amazing job!! You have encouraged me to try this! You struggled but you really make it look easy. I’m so happy I found this! Thank you for sharing
Thank you! They are so fun to make (and wear), if it helps I linked the materials I used in my first tiara video 😊 hope you enjoy it!
It worked so well!!! I love this, and I can tell you did too! Thank you and please know more crown content would be oh so very welcome!
Thank you 🥰 I’m already trying to figure out what to make for my next one 😄
You have given me confidence to start building my own.
What beautiful work. They would be a beautiful wedding tiara.
Thank you 🥰🖤
Very nicely done!
Beautiful! Painstaking and absolutely beautiful ❤❤
Thank you so much! ☺️ There was definitely pain at parts 😅
TH-cam suggested your video on turning your hall into a manor house to me and I loved it! Had a look at your videos, watched this and have subscribed!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed them 🖤
Im expecting the next one to be better! you've learned a lot from this and the first so carry on and were loving all of this!
So no pressure then 😂 I’ll try my best to deliver 🖤
Wow what an amazing job!! Well done! 🤩✨
As someone who’s spent hours at work staring at the actual tiara, in the Jewel Room at Kensington Palace (where it lives, not the V&A), my only criticism is that yours is set in silver rather than gold and seems quite a bit taller than the original - though that’s probably down to the limitations of your materials.
A lovely video showing it clearly is here on TH-cam called ‘Preparing Tiaras for the Victoria Revealed Exhibition.’
But again, well done!
I’m impressed! And touched the you responded so kindly to people who commented on your video.
Aww thank you ☺️ honestly I’m touched by how many people have taken the time to comment, all the support has meant so much to me 🖤
Looks incredible! What an amazing recreation! 👏
Thank you 🖤🖤 I’m so happy with how it turned out!
Woooow!! I need to make one now!!!! Just to sit pretty somewhere!!! I love this!! Great job glue and all!!
That is the primary function of mine 😂 You should give it a go, they’re so much fun 🖤
I'm new to your channel. I've never seen anyone replicate crowns before. I'm fascinated by this. Beautiful work. You have a real talent for this.
Thank you so much 😊 🖤 if you’re interested in crown making you should check out AustinDo’s channel, they’ve made loads and actually inspired me to make my first one
Love, love, love!!! I wanna try!!! Thanks for your inspiration!!!
Yay 🥳 do it, they are so much fun!
This is beautiful! Emeralds are my favourite gemstone, but green glass is a surprisingly good substitute! The algorithmic served your video up to me, and I am so impressed I have immediately subscribed to your channel 👍🏻
Thank you 🥰 & mine too! I was very glad when everyone voted for me to make the emerald one 😅 I hope you enjoy the rest of the channel 🖤
You look gorgeous. Keep up the tutorials. Queen Victoria is one of my favorite Monarchs.
Thank you so much!! 🖤
so happy to find you!
You did such a beautiful job, now I need to add another project to my already very very full list! It’s so pretty!
Thank you ☺️ Yess, do it! It’s so much fun 🖤
This is incredible!!!! Ohmygod, the craftsmanship!!!
Thank you, that’s so kind to say 🥰
Quick share by an admiring newbie. If you've never used fabric glue for gems I find it more super than super glue as it's meant to stand up to washing where Super Glue brand breaks down. I bought a lovely blouse 20 years ago from a charity shop and wear it very often so it is often machine washed and dried and no gem has ever fallen off so an article kept dry ought to fare well too.😊
Thanks for the tip, I do want to do some sewing projects that involve adding stones in the future so I’ll keep that in mind 😊🖤
I'm another rando brought by the algorithm, but I do LOTS of crafts, and now I want to recreate tiaras. (I recently found 2 well-made tiaras at a thrift shop, and *had* to get them!)
To not glue your fingers to the tiara so much, they make reusable, silicone finger guards. like a soft (gel-like) flexible thimble covering appropriately half the finger.
That's amazing! I love the emerald the best.
Thank you! 🖤🖤
Just the base alone after Day 2 was pretty, and the finished crown turned out fabulous.
Aww thank you ☺️ I have to admit I did get nervous around day two in case adding more ruined it where it was starting to look good 😅
I'm beyond impressed and loved the video
Thank you 🖤
As a jewelry maker myself I learned a tidbit about using cling film I never knew before! Your work is amazing bty! You did a fabulous job!
Aww thank you! 🖤 The cling film might not be the most skilful method but I sure enjoy it 😂
This was so good, I cant wait to try this in summer break. You are a beauty
Thank you so much!! Hope you have fun 🖤
This may be my favorite crafty hobby EVER! Please make ALL the tiaras. How much did it cost to make?
Aw thank you 😄
Empress Josephine had so many beautiful tiaras! And I hadn’t seen the Marie Louise Diadem before, I just read up on the history and what happened to the emeralds. It would definitely be a challenging make!
You did a fantastic job on both! 😊
Thank you! 🥰
How lovely! My thought for you is to take mesh (like tulle) and glue your jems down to that fabric, and then mount the fabric to the wire frame. You can use a sodering iron to melt away any mesh that is exposed, so you can't see the fabric, but it gives you many more points of contact!
That’s a really interesting idea, I might experiment with that, thank you ☺️
That look stunning!!
Well done - it was fun to watch!
Thank you so much ☺️🖤
For the green stones, maybe also try making a flat chain of circle loops by looping and twisting. This will give a round wire base to stick the stones to. Glue will then have multiple points of contact with the stone. Lovely work. Lots of work.
That’s a great idea! Thanks for the tip 😁🖤
Oh my gosh!!!! This is so awesome!
Aww thank you ☺️🖤
you've made it great cant wait for the DIAMOND DIADEM or George iv diadem
YESSS!!! I think it’s going to be a tough one but I do REALLY want to at some point!!
@@MadameMyriad well even I'm also a great fond of victorian stuff.
Soooo I've prepared a diadem from the materials available here in India..
An easy way to deal with fiddly wire is too use an electric drill to straighten it first. It gets rid of bends really well.
That sounds sort of dangerous to my ears. 😳 How would you go about using one with wire?
@@jasminv8653 not dangerous at all. th-cam.com/users/shortsgVciCVAITDM
Oh that could be really helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for posting a link! I’ll definitely have to check that out and see if it makes things easier in the future!
Ah, don't see the link - thought i posted it. Here it is again for the other person.

You can actually hold the very end and get a full straight wire so you don't waste. Or do small sections at a time of a coil and cut off only the straight pieces.
This is such a hoot! Love it!
Aww thank you 😄🖤
It looks amazing! A great success. It’s also a huge inspiration, you make the idea of a custom tiara approachable. If i’d ever attempt something like this, I would attempt to use some solder for the metal backed gems, to see if it can be done with slightly less glue.
Aww thank you ☺️ Solder is something I’d love to attempt one day, there was way too much glue on this one 😂
Well done girl love watching you!
Thank you 🥰
Her majesty, the queen of tiaras 👸
Haha yes, I accept this new title 😂🖤
You can cover the base wires with thin velvet ribbon that you glue from front to back, it won’t damage your hair either when the metal is covered.
That’s a good idea, thank you ☺️
