That was the best, explainable narrative I ever heard regarding single shot shotguns. Thank you.
Great presentation gun tradition i have a new 75th annivesary 10/22 im eager to try out with a leupold 2x7x33 scope
A big help and very educational. Thank you!
Big Hogs broad side center of the neck.. they hit the ground hard
I think the 10/22 is great for a survivalist rifle. But, the ammo isn’t reliable enough for me to trust it in a home defense scenario.
Will it hurt the springs if you leave it open for storage
So all this is is the same short commercial played over and over?
The 20 looked like it almost knocked you off your feet. the 12 looked much softer. Shouldn't it be the other way around ?
If you own a 10/22 and don't know about the hold open button then you shouldn't be allowed near any firearm.
i respect your fact on 9mm thats why i love that round
Almost everyone stresses ammo. I'm just saying after literally 10's of thousands of rounds of cheap bulk, only remember inducing a FTF (much less FTE) after running thousands without cleaning the feed ramp caked with grime. Mags were almost exclusively BX25s, but no issues with the factory 10 round rotaries either. But it's almost like a religion for shooters: If you're an old woman, arthritic, recoil sensitive, scared of firearms, or new to shooting then it's better than nothing. Yeah, a lot better. Go look at penetration and expansion from 10/22 (or similar). If you live in the suburbs, go look at wall penetration tests where if you miss you won't be zipping bullets into your neighbor's homes. 5.56 and slugs will. Larger buckshot and even 9mm from a pistol can.
Thanks from Spain man! Really appreciate these tips
can you dry-fire the pistol without the cylinder in it? With zero worries about damaging the firing pin?
If it makes you feel any better. Mine had a metal ejector rod. It broke off in the holster while I was riding one day. I still love mine.
Thanks man. I need to oil my Glock 17 then. Any oil recommendations?
Shot placement and bullet construction are the most important factors. Minimum barrel length is 16”. Don’t cheap out buy quality ammo!
That wound channel looks delicious!
A bif of a metallic flavor though.
I wouldn't want to get hit with it at 30 ft 😂😂😂
No kidding
I got mine for about $160 and it came with the Magnum cylinder.
Bloody he'll mate every one who has a ruger 10/22 knows this !!!!
Not according to the comments.
That's Nice straight forward thank you.
I do that on every rifle I own
Do you have to torque the 2 barrel screws tighter after doing this?
Just good and firm.
Good review. I'd recommend it to anyone. Plinking joy!
How about Federal Punch?
Honestly, I think that's slightly a marketing gimmick. It doesn't seem to do much of anything different.
@@GunTradition Even with those gel tests?
Limp wristing I have done but my issue is my shoulder is broken!
keep clean and oiled lightly it will never miss fire or jam!
Great info! 👍
Carry 10mm,.41mag or .44 mag if you're in grizzly country. Larry Kelly tells of a grizzly coming into their cabin and he emptied his .44 magnum loaded with soft points and a guide in the cabin with him shot and killed it with a large caliber rifle. None of the handgun rounds had penetrated through the fat.
Any handgun is a poor excuse for a rifle.
Its a 1 hand (2) finger operation. Pull back with ur thumb, and use ur middle finger the operate the bolt open/closed.
Thanks, I ran into this problem and your video helped me. 👍🏻
I have a hard time believe there is anyone out there that doesnt know what that is for?
Just read the comments. It's a feature very unique in firearm design and many people don't know at first.
I knew a guy that got car jacked they shot him one time with zip gun shooting a 22 . It happened in Detroit Rip Kurt his brother later died of drug overdose. Rip Michael Benton .
Thank you so much that information really helped me out.
Glad to help.
I ordered the same rough Rider and it came with the extra cylinder I ordered the same one you have but I didn't get the same one the framing around the cylinder was a different color than the barrel I was a little bummed out that they sent me the wrong one, even the hand grips were the wrong one I wanted the brown Walnut but it's still shoots Great. Thanks for some of your tips I didn't know about the cylinder being dangerous when shooting
They got some good complet uppers. For around $2 hundred bucks. 😎👍
I sure like mine.
Just found this video man, really respect the info your putting out there for the people 💯
I appreciate that!
i use hollow points
Why do you even need the barrel band then???
It's just cosmetic
With a 25 round magazine I would not want to be on the receiving end it would ruin your day permanently energy level doesn't mean crap it will kill
It fits a budget niche but it delivers a serious payload.
Slow but serious.
Is it possible you are wearing out your chamber lead early?
It will, just as running hot hand loads will. I would be fine with those too. I don't see any significant wear differences, but it undoubtedly will wear a but faster.
TargetSportsUSA, just bought 1,000 rounds. $138.00 free shipping if you become a member.
just put over 1000 rounds through mine holding up great Birchwood Casey aluminum black works like a charm on the receiver and grip frame, mine was looking rough but I touched it up and it looks better then when I got it another thing to note is how easy this is to disassemble and reassemble. If I part breaks its easy to replace and cheap on heritage website
The frame is painted and the barrel is blued. I don’t think you can blue aluminum.
I think you're right.
It is properly pronounced Ah-Guee-LaH. It means eagle in Spanish. It’s extremely cring to listen to such smart and intelligent beings pronouncing such an easy word wrong.
Being from west Michigan, I can pronounce Finish, French, and Dutch. Not much Spanish though.
I heard a Spanish guy on you tube say it’s pronounced like Christina Aguilera. Ag-u-lah. That’s what he said. I don’t know.
Few questions. How about this but with a pistol? For me I have a LCR 22 revolver (8 shot). Does the 1.87" greatly kill / reduce effectiveness? Also, how about the Interceptor but the solid / round nose (red label on box)? Wouldn't you think that you might get just a little extra penetration from it vs the hp? Third, wondering why you didn't mention Supermaximums? The 30 grain loses power?
The 1.87" barrel will get you roughly 800 to 1100 fps, depending on ammo. The hype rvelocity loads usually come close to 1000-1050 fps. That definitely has less penetration than the full velocity force of a rifle, but the LCR with heavier hyper velocity loads would come in close to lesser power loads in a rifle. If I get my hands on one soon, that'd be a great video. With the 22lr, I've seen better accuracy, penetration, and all-around effectiveness with the 40 grain vs. the 30 grain hyper velocities.
So maybe someone or you could answer this because it’s a simple question. I have two ARS in 556 and one Ruger bolt gun in 223. I’ve always been nervous about mixing up things because the bolt gun takes an AR or M-16 magazine.but something deep inside of me says it’s a bolt gun for spaced out long range shots and should be fine for handling the 556. Unlike my AR which are intended for several fast shots. I should be fine and I’m right?
Generally, bolt guns are a stronger design with easier allowances for longer loadings. I would be inclined to agree. Just don't get it overly hot in the chamber or run it extremely dirty.
Youre fine w 556.
Here is a topic very few authors pay attention to: The importance of Shot placement Please watch the TH-cam video: Bear attack: Woman's incredible fight for survival by Wild Assault.: the relevant part starts at 21:18 This bear took 14 shots with a 44 magnum and was still coming. All the hunter have left was a 22LR and he fired. The bear turned away and when they tracked it they found it dead. Death was caused by 22LR hitting her vitals!! Nobody would suggest you use a 22 LR for bear defense, that is totally unwise, but the gist here is SHOT PLACEMENT CARRIED THE DAY. WE can discuss best caliber for bear defense till the cows come home tonight ,however it is all relative and subject to THE MOST RELEVANT FACTOR:DID MY BALLISTIC PROJECTILE REACH THE VITALS!!! It is much more important to practise practise practise to shoot while moving and to be proficient with and know the firearm you carry inside out. We should get away from this Hollywood Cowboy movie perception that a large caliber will stop a human let alone a raging bear.Caliber as a stopping power is a myth. A human or animal will only stop in its tracts if the spine or brain is hit. Even hitting the vitals on a large animal may still result on a raging bear on top of you. They don't die instantly. I have a 44 magnum and to shoot that revolver fast and accurate for me is very difficult. I would advise anyone to rather carry a firearm you are proficient with in shooting very fast and accurate. These attacks can happen lightening fast ,you better be fast on the draw! Practise from the draw. Going to the the shooting range is only a good start, you better follow that up with practising at a safe outdoor facility equipped for holster draw and shoot on the move!! Anything less than this is unwise!!! Remember a high power rifle preferably an autoloader or pump action is a better option if possible.
What do you think about 9mm PC Carbines rifles?
I've been fighting this for an hour.
It happens.
