I’ve got the same one on my 10/22. Your evaluation was spot-on. For me, the purpose of the laser was for close-quarters, quick fire (from the hip if necessary!). Mine is zeroed at 8 yards, so it’s reasonably close from point blank to about 12 yards. I let the iron sights take care of the longer distances. I’ve had mine for about a year. It gets turned on about once a month, but so far the original batteries are fine.
Useful video. I have the carbine 10/22 that comes with the viridian scope. But I've never had great confidence in the scope. So I added the laser, and will probably dis- mount the scope so I can sight the laser, then remount the scope. Another option is to get a laser bore sight, calibrate both scope and laser to the bore sight, and see what we get.

Excellent review.
Can’t even hate , that’s pretty cool ,.
Sadly I’ve had terrible luck with lasers
How do you change the battery?
Tiny Phillips head screws on one side. No problem. 3N battery
