Yeah same with me on Rumble. And yes I can understand the mix up given they were working under extreme pressure and deadlines to get all those characters established for the comics and toy bios. So a few mix ups were inevitable...which ultimately was for the better IMHO:)

@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf the i-gear ones scale with classics, universe2.0, generations etc. And The universe ironhide and ratchet are horrible and we don't have have never got any classics brawn. And i-gear made other figures for characters we din't have like beachcomer, cosmos, ratchet, gears, swerve, tailagte(i think) and 2 ubgrade kits for classics cliffjumper and generations kup

Yeah those huge arm cannons really made a difference and took his coolness to another level 👍👍👍 G1 Ironhide could have used them instead of all those random gadgets that popped out of his body 😅

Most of them hardly do anything ....but die. But yeah Blackout has the distinction of being the first live action TF we see and he's awesome at it so there's that!

Well nostalgia is a strong driving force. On my end I never got the toy so I don't have the same connection. But it's all good :) nice choices there on favorites! Hopefully I'll be able to cover the other two soon!

Yeah! As much as I love Scarlett and Lady Jaye, Cover Girl is my favorite too because she's the least popular of the three. What can I say? I love the obscure ones 😅

The first one had its charm but it took more liberties than I cared for. Making Baroness the ex GF of Duke and CC her brother and Dukes best friend was a bit much. I didn't care much for Wayans either as his existence in the movie was so jarring to me. I would've preferred if he was a more established and iconic joe like Stalker or something. I thought the UNCUT version of Retaliation was somewhat better, the final one in the theatres was just badly edited. It had no flow. And SE origin just showed they have NO IDEA who the Snake Eyes character is. And I think they paid Larry Hama to back them up on their idiotic decision to cast the dude from Crazy Rich Asians....but that's just me 😅 I really do hope they eventually get things right. Joes deserve a GOOD faithful to the material movie 👍👍👍

@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf It might be best to not do live action...sometimes these properties only do well animated... Even if it were something like Beowulf, a CG "live" action film. Something that gives a lot of freedom, and maybe studios need to look to unknown actors/actresses for roles, so that they do need such huge budgets...

I mean there is a reason why G.I Joe got so big in the 80s and beyond...and it’s not because of power suits or making roadblock the leader. I’ll take live action, animation or cgi, just give me a good story :)

@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf You'll find that doesn't work in Hollywood. The pinnacle of filming in Hollywood was the 70's-to early 80's... Tat is when most of the films that most people will say are where their favourite films are from... except in animation... then you get the CGI revolution. Sure you have films in the 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and now , but they are few are way far between. The reason for this is that Visuals have taken over for story (except for a few cases). Also, and most damning of all, are the attitudes of the fandom to the "new" versions of the older IP's of the 70's and 80's. I'm not just talking about OG SG Trilogy or Star Trek... I am talking about Predator, Alien, The Thing, etc... the newer movies are not bad, but they are not great, and they are not the first ones (which is great, because then you will appreciate the first ones a hell of a lot more), but they will never be the versions you want... the Spark was in the 80's for GI Joe. Same with Transformers. So while I agree that a good story, and great writing should hold us over, but it will never be that same feeling to the original source material that you have. So are the Live action Joe flics good Joe flics? No. But are they good action flics? Sure. And that is the difference. The same applies to other IP's... Are the new Trek materials good Star Trek? No. But are they good SciFi? Sure. I say I'd kill for a Joe film done in the 80's style, and then I realize that would just be the Expendables...lol So that this point, I say opt CGI for a film, or not do it at all, as we old guys, are not going to get it. The writing in the old 80s cartoons was not good for an adult, with adult sensibilities, but man it was great for kids. The old 80's comic-book writing for the most part was not what made GI Joe (or Transformers for that matter) amazing... The stories were good and a bit more adult, but they were not the cartoon. And I'm not getting into how there are fans of the comics vs the fans of the cartoon. This post is already too long (sorry about that). Bottomline: I get what you are saying, and agree 100%, but, we'll never feel satisfied as we are against our own nostalgia of the IP in question.

@Sturmvapor well said! And I completely agree. But when I say a good story I don't necessarily mean an exact carbon copy of gijoe from the 80s. I mean you're right the cartoons were really just glorified toy commercials. But like in the case of G.I.joe I believe there are certain things that are key to the story and mythos. And while I am all for breathing new life with new ideas, when you install change for the sake of change and don't back it up with a good story then it's game over. When you try to market the Snake Eyes movie around the dude from Crazy Rich Asians, basically banking in his looks and the fact hat he can speak to bring in audiences....then that just shows you don't know the source material and are better off just making something completely new. The only people who will care to watch a snake eyes movie are us who grew up in the 80s. So yes you have to cater to the core audience first. And the rest will follow. Just my opinion. 😅

Aw I wouldn't call Swipe generic. He's got one of the best looking and iconic car modes on the team. Plus his brother is awesome 😅

Well that's the beauty of the personalities of most of these original TF characters. They weren't just robots but beings we could relate to. Just because I wasn't an Ironhide doesn't mean others weren't too 👍 Regardless even I can concede that ive grown to at the very least appre rate him for what he is. As he doesn't remain a stereotype caricature but actually develops and changes over tike..at least in the IDW comics:) Which is why I think your take is a great one. Unfortunate circumstances like wars change people and bots. So I like how a close association with Prime made Ironhide a better character!👍👍👍

I'm just joking around that there aren't that many fans of Ironhide. No offense meant if you're a fan yourself. That would make you #7 😅

Ouch another problem witrh out vintage toys. Rubber tired are nice and make for smoother rolls across the floor but I genuinely fear for their longevity 😬

Hey! The SS86 Ironhide is currently the best version of the guy out there IMHO so great on your wife for getting him for ya! Oh I'm definitely looking forward to Deadpool Wolverine. Even if I'm not a big fan of either characters per se, I have loved the DP movies and am curious how they will incorporate him into the MCU overall. It should be good.MCU NEEDS a hit after the many recent disappointing releases...but that's just me :) and congrats again on your Titanic project! It really sounds awesome! Stay safe brother!
