Do you think that there is a connection between Hound and Bulkhead? Which do you prefer? Or does it even matter since Bumblebee is the best? 😅
Or Bulkhead and Springer?
i never noticed the similarities but now that u bring it up, i cant unsee it
@@matternot666 you're welcome 😅
"You can't even swim
What makes you think you can fight?...."
- Rumble
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Rumble...the original Deceptipunk!
I consider BulkHead to be a separate character.
Yes honestly I do believe he is. But at the same time I'm of the belief that there is a connection even if as little S his creation was inspired by Hound.:)
Hound and Prowl were my very first transformers
Nice! I never got either of those as a kid but through the years they have both become two of my favorite TF characters of all time...especially Prowl :)
In the Bumblebee Movie, Bumblebee even turns into a Jeep... just to rub salt in that wound 😅
also kinda rubbing salt in the "wound" of Swindle
speaking of Swindle, he's a Decepticon I'd definitely want to see more often. Good thing he's in Earthspark though - even though I feel ES is too kidfriendly, it's a good thing they allow characters like him and Elita-1 to shine.
Yeah that didn't even occur to me....damn bumblejeep!
Yeah I think Swindle is one of the few characters that can stand alone apart from his combiner team :)
@@fduranthesee Transformers first and foremost is a Kid's series. A lot of fans need to learn to accept that this is for and always will be, for kids; and that there is no shame in liking something made for kids.
Laserbeak ain't no joke. He one shotted Prime once and managed to capture Windcharger all by himself. It's like Megatron says, Laserbeak never fails.
Agree but back then before much was known about him he was just a small robot bird that took out a bigger bot with one shot...either way it didn't look good for Hound😅
Also semi-Related; in Marvel Comics Buzzsaw (Yellow Laserbeak) took down Omega Supreme. The guy that regularly fights Devastator in the cartoon.
@@SeleneDethly I actually prefer Buzzsaw. Sorely underrated and underused Decepticon!
In Hounds defense Lazerbeak and Rumble gave Optimus problems on more than 2 occasions as well.
Yes they are a couple to tough little dudes :)
Coming hot off of the success of G.I.Joe, I believe Hound was supposed to be the main character, too.
I would think that would be the logic behind their initial choice...I wonder what wad the real reason the switched course onto Bumblebee?
Hound is a favorite of mine. Always wanted him as a kid
Nice! Can't blame you as I do believebhe was written Nd designed that way ro be one of the more easier characters to latch on to and relate to :)
I love your videos! It's so great to hear someone who really knows the characters! You're the first person who actually made me interested in Sunstreaker, and this video makes me remember how great Hound is! Now I just need to find the Seige version of him, because it looks really cool, even for a cybertronian jeep!
Hey thanks so much I really appreciate your feedback. Yeah the beauty of the original G1 line was that there were really a lot of interesting and great characters NOT named Bumblebee, Prime, Starscream and Megatron :) hoping to draw more attention to them one episode at a time :) hope you come back for more!
Also fun fact Bulkheads first appearance wasn’t in Animated but rather in Transformers Energon where he was an old man helicopter
I've since learned that fact after making this video :) I get to learn new stuff too he he
Hound is my fav. He’s always underrated and under used. Hated how they portrayed him in bayverse
Well it was a creative choice i guess. I generally don't like how any character is portrayed in the Bayverse.....but I did like Hound, not as much as the origina thoughl:)
Great narration but some of these google image pics are outta hand!
Thanks for the feedback! Hope the random images didnt get too annoying ha ha. Regadless will keep that in mind for future videos :)
No, it takes more than similar shades of green, white painted stars in random spots and wheels and heroic personalities to make Hound and Bulkhead the "same". What the live movies do should have ZERO impact on other continuities. Let's not forget that the first Bulkhead was in Energon, and he was a green helicopter. So does that mean that he is also a version of G1 Hound, simply because both are green (he actually feels more like a G! Springer homage, so by this logic G1 Springer is ALSO G1 Hound?).. There are only so many shapes and colors that can be made into transforming toys, versus thousands of transformers actually released. Once in a while a new one is going to look kinda like a previous one.
Well I never claimed that they were the same character. I simply pointed out their aesthetic similarities in color and military themed alt modes that could lead to some people, like myself thinking they could be related. I'm not familiar with Energon so my first introduction to "bulkhead" was in Animated. And it isn't a stretch to see the visual similarity between that Bulkhead and movie Hound. I mean you can't fault anyone who sees movie Hound for the first time without any context and think that he might be the live movie version of Bulkhead, who at the time was popular in fans minds thanks to Animated and Prime, certainly more popular than Hound in my opinion. Bottomline I do know that these two are completely different characters in pretty much any iteration of the franchise. It's just speculation to think they could be related given the many coincidental similarities.
In any case, I do appreciate your opinio and the effort you took to state it. Its all good! Thanks! Hope you come back for more stories :)
In Japan, Energon Bulkhead's name is Sprung; which is also Springer's Japanese name. So that Bulkhead was clearly designed as an homage to the G1 Character in looks, even though they are nothing a like personalities.
However, you're over looking that Animated Bulkhead and Hound have similar personalities. Both are kinda pacafists, or would perfer to be; both develop a fondness for Earth. If he was named Hound, its very easy to see that Bulkhead as just a slightly different take on G1 Hound.
Prime Bulkhead is a completely different story imo, as he's not same as his Animated counterpart; he's much more of a warrior/solider, he looses the peaceful side and even his hobbies. However I do see Prime Bulkhead and Hound as two sides of the same coin. Movie Hound looks like Bulkhead, the "beard" mimicing the large chin, the rotund look, the aggressive warrior personality with just a bit of humor thrown in. And this is the same movie that introduces their verson of Lockdown, another popular character from that Era.
@SeleneDethly exactly! 💯 I'm not claiming that they are one and the same but there are so many coincidental similarities that you can't help but speculate that there is a connection. It's been so long since I watched both Animated and Prime, thanks for the refresher on the two distinct Bulkhead personalities :)
I am a huge fan of both Hound and Bulkhead!
Same here! Do you make a distinction between the Prime and Animated versions of Bulkhead?
We had the PERFECT chance to link both characters during Power of the Primes, imagine if Hound had won the fan vote and ascended to becoming a Matrix bearer, his evolution could've been Bulkhead!
Hey I never thought of that. That's a cool idea :)
2:54 WHAT IS THAT STILL IMAGE LMFAO
I can see how that pic can be seen out of context 🤣🤣🤣
They look similar but they are different in every way possible
And yet those similarities matter in the grander scheme of things :) but yes totally different characters :)
Hound sounds like beachcomber
Yes they do share the love for Earth :)
They’re nothing alike in personality or role. They are both green, but that’s where the comparison ends.
They both have white stars on them? 😅 seriously though yes I know they are different characters, just fun tocspeculate and connect dots :)
I love Hound
same!
I bet he's Rhinox in Maximals.
😆😆😆😆
But....Rhinox is brown 😜
Bumbrbee - sweet boi
Sweet boi= popular
Or overused? 😅
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf yep
if anyone should be compared its movie ironhide and prime bulkhead. I mean, they both have a beach ball body, both love to fight and are old rusty fighters and ironhide was even planned to be in the show till it was changed. For, some reason
I never saw movie Ironhide as having a beach ball bod. But yes I see the similarities there as well. I believe Ironhide sporting similar arm canons to the movie version was supposed to be added first to Animated before it got cancelled. But yes Prime DID have an Ironhide toy recolored to Kup.
He fought Rumble again in part3 of that episode and beat him
Yup got some of his dignity back 😜
before transformers animated existed bulkhead appeared in transformers energon turning into a helicopter, in the animated japanese dub bulkhead was called ironhide, while ironhide was called armorhide in the japanese dub, bulkhead being in transformers prime was to replace ironhide (ironhide was gonna appear in transformers prime as a combination of his g1 and bayverse designs-but was cut because sentinel prime killed ironhide in dotm, ironhide did appear in the transformers prime toyline), bulkhead was gonna appear in dotm toyline looking like prime bulkhead but got cancelled, i was wishing bulkhead appeared in cyberverse as a female, because randolph heard wanted lugnut to be a female but hasbro wanted to name lugnut to be a male they were open to a female lugnut but use a different name which was clobber, clobber was called lugnut in the cyberverse french dub, i do wonder if that'll happen with bulkhead when randolph heard wanted to bring bulkhead a female but hasbro says keep the name bulkhead as a male, and use a different name for female bulkhead
i do wonder bulkhead would look like as a bayverse character, i hope to see bulkhead as a combination of his g1 and animated versions in a future transformers series also hope his universe 2014 design gets used in a future transformers series
before aoe existed hound appeared in the 2007 psp video game and the 2010 toyline looking like his universe 2008 legends toy, the tfwiki revealed what animated hound looks like, hound made a cameo in rid 2015 and was gonna appear in the universe 2014 game before it got cancelled, hound was mentioned in cyberverse and was killed the quintessons
i wonder what hound would look like as a cyberverse character
i hope to see hound as a combination of his g1, 2007 psp, and 2010 legends toy in a future transformers series, also hope to see ryoken (aoe hound) in a future transformers series looking like aoe hound, i disliked hound being the medic
Wow that's a lot! 🤣 but I love the enthusiasm! I do remember Ironhidalmost being part of the main cast of animated with Jazz before it's abrupt cancellation. Didn't know the death on DOTm was related to his removal that's unfortunate. I did get the Ironhide toy it was awesome and since it transformed to his cyberteon mode it was unique and different from Ratchet :)
So... Bumblebee is... Elmo?
Close....but Elmo is worse 🤣
Prime Bulk & AOE Hound also have Ironhide traits. Might as well throw him into the mix.
I get the AOE Hound and Ironhide similarities both being old grizzled warriors. But what similarities do you see in Prime Bulkhead and Ironhide?
Prime Bulkhead was made to be Ironhide in the beginning of Prime's production, hence the base personality we got that differed from Animated Bulkhead being a friendlier type of guy. Looking forward to tearing con guts and being quite violent is definitely part of it. Of course, by the voice acting phase the grizzly veteran nature starts to disappear but the mannerisms that stem from it are still there to a degree.
@rikajougasaki3296 I can see ironhide being the original plan given how much of an influence the live movies were to Prime. I wonder what was the reason why they switched to Bulkhead. 🤔
Hound and bluestreak sunstreaker were also my favorite characters in transformers, I tust wish they were in more transformers comic and cartoons 😢 😞 😔 and i kind of hold some resentment for bumblebee be Hound was pushed in the background I still hate bumblebee to is day for that 😅😅
Yeah that's the problem with characters like Bumblebee, they get overused at the expense of others that are just as or even more interesting! Like Wolverine 🤣
Me gusto tu perspectiva. Felicidades!
Muchas gracias!
Hound could get chance with GI Joe cross over..doing the first gijoe jeep( not sure name)
That would be the VAMP :) I actually made a 3d model/render of that one years ago!
Uhm acshully prime bulkhead turns into a lamborghini
I don't claim to be a vehicle expert...so I'll give you that one :)
9:57 I don’t understand why they reused swindle rather than releasing hound first and using swindle as a repaint, has hound really faded that much into obscurity that much (I understand he would also need to be able to combine but I feel like they could achieve that)
I guess the line was combiner wars. So swindle and the combaticons were the priority. Hound and company were released towards the end of the line so they were more of an opportunity to make a quick buck.
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf yeah that makes sense
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf If you look at the design; they always intended it to be for both. You can see elements of both Swindle and Hound in his robot mode, like how the chest vaguely looks like the front of a jeep. They even made it so the gun can be place over his shoulder.
And its not the first time they've shared a mold; the story in Alternators/Binaltech is that Swindle stole a body meant for Hound, explaining why they share a body type there.
@SeleneDethly yes I remember that! And yes I agree they had every intention of repainting Swindle as Hound right from the get go :)
They just released the Protectobots in Wave 3 (they were going Autobot, Deception, Autobot, Decepticon with these releases) so it was natural to release the Comvaticons, their rivals next. Plus Swindle was a retool of the new Protectobots Rook.
Hound and Bulkhead are seperate characters. With SO many Autobots being created over the years, there is bound to be accidental overlap.
Agreed 👍 just fun to look at all the coincidental similarities and speculate :)
I like bumblebee but give the spotlight to someone else like powerglide or of course hound
Agree 💯 percent!
2:52 🤨
😅 and that's why context is important 👍👍👍
I hate when this new TH-cam generation wants to change everything......he will always be Hound ...and Slag will be always be slag .....
I hope you're not referring to me as I'm a 💯 % 80s kid 🤣
I always thought they were a gay couple. 🤷♂️
That would make a rather odd couple....
You forgot Hound from WfC 😢
Yes I did! But stay tuned I have a quick short in the works to rectify that :) it should be up this week :)
Bumblebee is overrated.
Agreed, I much prefer jound
AMEN!
*Me and every other bumblebee mega fan wants to know your location*
@@ge0_istaken 🤣🤣🤣
@Nix91 don't even get me started on the modern "Bumblebee" 😅
