Be carful where you park simple really

I get it 100% as I started myself a few weeks ago and agree with what you say. I called it VanSurvival for the first few days and then got the battery upgraded which helped. This week the diesel heater is getting installed so that will help and hopefully it will feel more like VanLife and less like VanSurvival!

Freedom comes with sacrifice. If wanting to maintain a level of comfort in a Van, you either spend on upgrading your power supply reserves and systems, or you accept having to fund plug-in locations to recharge your power supplies (You are living in UK where solar at this time of year is not efficient), or are moving the Van to recharge as you stated. If not doing any of those, then the compromise is clothing, yet that is not maintenance of comfort, so it is a sacrifice. If really fearing conformity in the future, then surely start planning now and find a static location, using funds, you can longterm lease or own and either self build your shelter or make it a location, that without moving, you are self sufficient in your Van. Gypsy’s have lived this way for hundreds of years, so it is nothing new. So instead of complaining, as no one is going to help you, help yourself and start planning ahead for all your fears with what and how you think life will become. If you don’t plan ahead, then you only have yourself to blame. Utrinque Paratus (Ready For Anything). As to speech, printed word has always been constrained, so why think verbal words on digital platforms would not also be constrained? If needing to be heard and air all your views, go to ‘speakers corner’ in London and talk away till your heart is content. Otherwise, accept, some may want to hear you, but others may not. When you don’t own the platform of communication, a book, a post on social media or a TH-cam video, reality says, the owners will choose and make the rules. If you don’t like the rules then don’t use those platforms of communication and use the old fashioned way, by word of mouth, from one person to another. Happy New Year Mark, I don't always agree with everything you say but I will always defend your right to say what you choose to. Hope you are managing to keep warm in the van mate, it's also my favourite time of year to get out and about in my own camper-van. I don't think you can beat thermal underwear in the winter when in the van. Regarding electric power I carry an Ecoflow Delta 2 Max which is aided by an 800w alternator charger from Ecoflow, this is great back up to my solar/lithium set up.

It's still a chinese heater, the company hq and manufacturing is in china, just better quality and upgraded quiet pump, which is why the price is much higher than the cheaper chinese heaters. Took mine on a couple trips this winter so far and most efficient set up is to keep it inside as it will draw less battery and use way less fuel. My wife did use it to dry her hair after our showers too. Good video.

full time in a van , need a little wood burning stove cost nothing to run you,ll always be warm ,so long as you got ladders or hatch to get access to your roof to remove flu pipe when travelling ,while your up there fit a wind turbine hinge it to flip up and fold flat onto the roof when driving ,,solar panels dead weight, skip them dont work ,wont work

Dug myself out of a snow drift yesterday morning, out in the peaks.. The only reason i dug myself out was because of me 2 ferrets and they were running out of food.. but i love Winter Van life as long as you have what you need , so heat, dry, food, heating food up, and all the rest.. All van life is hard, that's why we do it... who wants a cotton wool life.. Love to hear your thoughts on whats going on (stealthily) You have to talk in cryptic nowdays..

I'm with you on winter in a van , so much easier to find a deserted park up and its easy enough to wrap up warm with a few layers. Nice hot soup and a hunk of bread.......bliss

TH-cam can pick up on just one word and the system will flag it. Obviously they can’t physically review every video, unfortunately it has to be generic to get through. Another non lifer I follow was discussion a political topic with a group outside. Ytube picked up a few key words from a bystander and flagged and demonetised his video.

Understandbly that is your home so you need to do whatever it takes to make life comfortable I imagine otherwise like any home your health mentally and physically will suffer. Hi there. Ive just bought this off amazon using your code. I was wondering if you could help. Its just arrived but Im finding it difficult to fix the exhaust to the main heater body. Is it a really tight fit that needs forcing. I dont want to force it and damage it, but the fixing doesnt seem big enough to fit. What did you do or was yours an easy fix?

Great video! I've got a quick question, the new air filter I bought is a little taller (2mm)than the old one even thought it's the same reference. When I put the cover back in it doesn't fit and seal perfectly but there's a 2-3mm tiny gap. Does it matter? Do I have to cut the pink foam of the filter to fit in it squeeze it somehow? Thanks a lot!!

Great heaters, but not for vans .. the safety side would be no good.

There are bad elements in every community.. But respect is earned by all communities and bad eggs spoil the lot. One of the big problems are when so called media, windup both sides, and I come from Traveler family.. then there is local police, especially the higher ranks ,corrupted they socialise ,wine and dine with the local nobs.

The Most stressful times in my life were when I worked 7 days a week 14 hours a day trying to pay a mortgage and raise a family. I live in a van now with my wife,, thank God,, I am 50 and own nothing except my van and a load of debt.

All my working life has been in engineering without schooling that wouldn't of happened (I enjoyed most of my working life), we raised three kids, paid the mortgage of in the allocated 25 years and I retired at 52, my partner has always worked part time and still does. Not sure I would encourage people to not school their children - for example who do you go to for vehicle repairs? without schooling how can you ever become a tradesperson? The best jobs will always go to the educated teenagers who know what they want to do. ''are you born to slave yourlife away'' You buy clothes someone has made, you pay for food someone has grown, you pay for repairs and the parts others have made, the list goes on. You are either totally self sufficient or part of the system, if its the latter you need to pay into it so I guess that makes us a ''slave to the system''?
