    We aren't allowed to defend ourselves in this country mate. Lets say i had a crossbow in my house that I use on my own property for a bit of fun target shooting. Now if someone was to break into my home while I was at home and even if i was in fear of my life I was to use it ( fire it ) then I could fined myself on a charge for murder/manslaughter because I have used what's classed as a deadly weapon. The law could look at it that planned on using it for self defence because i had reached for it, loaded it and fired it. Same goes if you use and axe or machete especially if it's say in your bedroom. The law could argue that keeping those items in your bedroom is premeditated to use as a self defence weapon. Now if you used a coat hanger on someone entering your bedroom and killed them than more than likely you'd get away with it because it's an item that is normally found in such a room.
    I got stopped once just going about my business because a copper saw i was carrying a pouch on my belt. In the pouch was a small can of Identifying Marker.. you know , it's the stuff you can spray an attacker with that is not harmful but covers them in a dye that can't be washed off. The copper was a reasonable guy and just said.. ' Off you go mate but don't carry that anymore, because if you was to use that then it could fall under the discharge of a firearm offence'
    I watch a lot of blackbeltbarrister's videos here on youtube, he covers this a lot mate.

      I've said to sioux if someone was attacking us or our vans they will get a big shock cos I wouldn't think for a split second on using my bow or axe if it was at hand. I remember the old farmer guy in the news who shot someone breaking in to his house and got jailed. It's completely mad that law. I bet if I was passing and saw a terror attack and I used my bow to stop it ill get charged.

      @@Roadshome All I can say is if someone comes into my house uninvited then at least one of them is going out feet first. I have enough things around my house that are classed as 'weapons of opportunity' that that person is gonna have a very bad day. If it was a SHTF scenario then the gloves come off, that's when I'd get to play with my 'toys' wink wink

      @@Roadshome Yeah just watched that on a Paz video. Stalin Starmer is going all out to silence anyone he see's as a threat to his dictatorship. It's also been hinted at that all those who signed the petition for another general election maybe be issued with a 'respect order'.

    We were having this conversation with other van friends the other week. One had been told by a police officer that he would recommend a good torch. Some great tough heavy duty ones you can buy. Great video Mark. Love and Big Hugs Both ❤❤

      You want a true 1800LM + to be enough to disoriente a person. If I look into my torch I can't see anything once I take the light away. Just a big white spot for a few seconds. It's enough time for you to make the choice hit or run.

    I carry a stainless steel craftsmen multi tool I a belt holster and it's attached to a 2 foot para cord , this can be used to swing it around as it makes a good type of club. I was told by a police officer if you use something to defend your self make sure you say you feared for your life and felt you were trapped and had no option

      @Colinking2127 that's classed as "made or adapted into a weapon" and carries a custodial sentence . I'm not being clever I just want people to know how absolutely word perfect you need to be after a situation and how keen the old bill are on bladed stuff these days . They don't want us to have any waybto protect ourselves against rogue authorities..I'm a dog handler (among other things) and never do authorities recognise the dog until there's been a bite of course . There's no specific SIA for a dog handler . The reason, is they don't want to recognise the fact that the dog is actually a weapon that we use for self defence in a civilian role .

    These days I don't carry a folding knife as my situation has changed I really don't need the use of one while out and its more crap in my pocket.I usually have a dog with me for a number of years I carry K-9 dog attack spray in different versions and I can say it works and has never failed to repeal attacking dogs,I have saved myself and my dog from attack quite a few times no matter what dog it is one spray and they don't want to know on a couple of occasions three dogs and another two dogs repelled easily.A strobe torch is probably the best game changer for human attackers.

    • @Roadshome
      @Roadshome  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yep I didn't appreciate the torch until I spent £70 on a small pocket torch. It leaves me seeing spots and if I put that in someone's eyes it would definitely give me time to hit em or run whatever the case need.

    I carry every day a multitool with a 4 inch locking blade , even had a copper have a look at it while I was waiting in a McDonalds
    After explaining why I had it he said that’s fine and gave me it back.
    If you have a valid reason they are ok with things that might normally be seen as illegal.

      You could have had a prison sentence . A guy was imprisoned last year for walking into a corner shop type establishment with a locking sliding stanley knife on a clip on his his belt , his van was rightoutside the shop and his trade .....carpet fitter . He had a 6 month custodial sentence , the story is on YT if i remember the channel ill edit this rply later . I was lifted in Charing Cross London in 2001 , had a kershaw blackhorse 2 on me and a leatherman pulse but I was in work at the time ,got bailed at 0130 and had knife and multitool returned !!

    • @thelonerizla1
      @thelonerizla1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Roadshome before the law changed about locking blades, it was "combat grips" that were outlawed , I asked quite a few coppers who's cars/bikes I used to look after, so I knew them quite well so to speak, about the blackhorse . They almost all gave the same answer , they were unsure about the legality but said they'd rather come up against that than a carving knife which is used in almost every house break in situation, they don't take a knife with them, they go straight to the kitchen drawer where every house has one . Blew me away at the time as that black horse was a significant knife . Still got it, but 30 yrs has worn it, so I replaced it with a cold steel SR1 lite earlier this year .

    Every knife I own is illegal but owned for a purpose. Even my little Opinel is illegal as it is a lock knife. I use it for pretty much the same thing as you use the neck knife for, honest. My fish cleaning knife is my favourite though.
