Vlog of a guy from London, living in a van finds his sole-mate and falls in love with her.
Hello Mark and Sioux, brilliant vlog as usual guys. When are you doing live vlogs? Look after yourselves, God bless love from Paul and Denise. 🤗.
What another fantastic video from you two, you do crack me up. You're such a lovely couple and the banter between you reminds me of Abbot & Costello ( probably before your time ) Thank's for the mention, I'm saving really hard believe me.
I'm glad you mentioned the weight limit. I passed my test late in life and it was 2001 so don't have a 'grandad' license so am limited to 3.5 ton, so that will be a real problem won't it. As far as buying vans now not only is the fuel price gonna sky rocket but you will find it difficult to get parts. Already there is talk about rule changes on Ebay etc about who can sell motor vehicle parts. It's gonna just increase the black market trade and vehicle thefts ( for parts ) sky rocket. I can see a time in the not too distant future where any overnight parking is totally banned everywhere apart from private land or camping sites.
I loved Abbott and castllo, it used to be one of my favourites. Haven't watched them in years. I'll treat siuox to watching one of their shows. 😆
I was talking to someone tonight who said if you buy electric you can drive 4.2t on a normal licence. ? I've not confirmed it though.
I think you over estimate the mileage of a fully charged van. I think a more realistic figure is less than 100 miles. I see Porsche are sending owners letters not to park their EVs near a house or in a garage (due to the likelyhood of them catching fire) so who in their right mind would sleep in an electric camper van?
I've seen a brand new Mercedes-Benz 4x4 worth 140k drive 50ft and brake down. The woman said she's had it 2 months. The first week of owning it, it broke down. Went back to dealers for 3 weeks and she got it returned a day ago. It moved 50ft before braking down again. I recovered it back to Mercedes-Benz. I've done literally all makes and models for the same reason. Battery reads full when they get in it but is dead within a very short time of driving. They all need main dealer. No garages will deal with them. £250 a hour for someone to look at it. It's £70 -140 for any other garage mechanic.
One day when we are all in our designated 15 minute Hunger Games zones you won't be allowed to travel unless you have a permit. There will be no privately owned cars ( apart from the supper rich ) The roads will carry only freight, trains also, that's why the government are committed to re-nationalising the railway.
Spudman , the mention of 15 minute cities reminds me of the Berlin Wall. th-cam.com/video/sdBKw6DOVB0/w-d-xo.html
When we entered the Palace of tears, the railway station in Berlin I got quite emotional. Thinking of those people who were trying to leave.
Sioux. ❤️
By the way I feel daft calling you spudman, what's your first name?
All very true. Globally they are pushing ahead at a fast rate but their agenda is anti human in nature so I think a tipping point is on the horizon where their agenda will fall like a house of cards.
Spot on 👍
You could start a milk delivery round with your motor home (milk float) in your 15 minute ghetto.
I was thinking burger van lol
Yes there are the new electric narrowboats already on the canals and they are over 100k
More to the point how do you actually charge them and keep them going in Winter and do you really want to be parking them in the sun the whole time in Summer to charge the batteries?
Easy to convert boat to electric with an old electric fork lift motor.
Your knowledge is better than mine. I was wondering if it was possible to convert.
@Roadshome Watched too many boat videos over the years lol.
Yes you can have electric narrow boats there is loads on the canels already
Yes he does good on you Mark lol.
If it ends up that bad, I’ll be in a tent with a bike!
You won't be alone. I'm definitely not going electric. I'd rather go horse.
@ horse would be good but needs a lot of looking after
Yes you can get electric narrow boats a friend of mine just started manufacturing them using Tesla motors very interesting, but not wide spread, personally i think electric cars are good for short city driving thats it. But once they crammed us into 15 minutes city's we won't need long range petrol diesel car or campervans (over my dead body), i work in logistics and i can tell you know electric trucks don't work we had demos and they are rubbish, they are trying with gas trucks as well they are shit too cant pull me out of bed, sorry i have had a beer and getting side tracked, anyway you are raising some very good points and people need to get there heads out of there arse and smell the coffee, things arnt going to get better and its not all ranbows and unicorns well maybe for pride month but no one cares about that, people need to start speaking out more before its too late, very good video hope your both ok 👍
that 170mile if the van was empty not with the conversion
It's for the endeavour. Transit converted camper.
@@Roadshome still way over the mark. Ask a tradesman who has used one.
The Luton vauxhall plant is closing because electric vans aren't selling. They were going to only build electric vans after 2025 - they already build eVivaros there - but they can't sell the ones they've already built.
The eVivaro has around 80 miles range, half that with a heavy load or cold weather. Totally unacceptable to any business, and British Gas and Post Office have already stopped using them.
If you have a classic diesel van, you will still be able to run it on biodiesel in future. But not the newer ones on the Euro standards, DPF filters, AdBlue, engines etc.
Also, EU mandates are coming in to only replace engine parts with original parts, not after market parts. Obviously, these will not be available on older vehicles. This will apply in Britain too, as we never left the EU and follow all the EU regulations.
So my old land rover I had to sell due to emissions laws would have run on bio fuel and my new van won't. Great. I've been stuffed again cos I loved my old land-rover.
yes you can get eletric boat but they are few and far between
I hope they don't bring out electric campervans ...have you seen the electric campers ?? No character and cost an arm and a leg. 2035 I will be 77 but I doubt i will still be alive 😮. Good video as always 😊
that only 2 people what about water
Do you think evs will be a lot better in 2035?
Probably yes, but no way they will build a ev campervan that can go off grid in that time. I've been off grid for 5 years in mine. I don't think a new ev camper will do a night in winter.
Yes there are electric narrow boats, they make sense because the batteries act as perfect ballast.
What's the cost ? More or less than a engine ?
@ I don’t know what it cost , I just remember seeing it on a random video I clicked on.
And how do you keep them charged and running as all the systems on them would be electric I would think.
I expect they will be for the wealthy for day trips out of the marina and back.
Charging big battery banks will require a lot of solar and sunshine.
Hi guys if they make it impossible for us in camper vans or m/homes or whatever we live in that rely on diesel or petrol then I for one will park my 2014 coachbuilt motorhome right outside off the bloody tossers government building
I'll join you
2035 is a long way away - maybe we'll have electric hot air balloon by then.
As I say, and the big car manufacturers agree the same. Check the link below. The date is 2030 still, 5 years for the whole of Europe to adjust. I hope we have someone fit to run the country who cares for it's citizens rather than air balloons.
Why electric won't replace your diesel van:
Economically not viable
A car battery replacemnt for an electric vehicle costs 10k minimum.
Most consumers buy second hand vehicles.
The evs you see on the road are mainly businesses leasing as they get discounted rates off the vehicles.
Who has 40-50k to spend on a tesla plus repair costs. Not second hand buyers which is most people.
Ĺ
The technology isn't there:
The batteries could not go the distance for delivery vans/lorries especially with the loads they're carrying.
The time it takes to charge your batteries - takes hours as opposed to refilling with petrol or diesel-takes minutes.
The grid isn't developed to handle everyone being able to charge their vehicles.
The government will have to resort to biofuels if they wanna hit any net target which wont make any difference in terms of global warming which we all know isnt the reason why the goverment are pushing for this crap. They won't be able to tax people out of petrol and diesel vehicles to buy vehicles they can't afford nor want that won't allow you to travel the distance you need to go which you won't be able to charge because the grid will be on its knees and will require fossil fuels to keep ac in your charging point.
Yeah that's what we all know. It's plastered all over the Internet that electric cars are not fit for use, but they still push ahead with this nonsense. It's going to put the UK into recession and then they will be forced to back track or get thrown out of power.
Is it possible with Trump’s world influence and perhaps no Labour government, the UK will greatly loosen the net zero targets so fuel and tax not so severe?
I'm not even sure myself what reforms political agenda is. I will look into it, but I believe it's not climate madness. I do know pretty much every other party is climate mad. So we do need to look into what else reform want for us, don't just be blinded by no net zero. I'm worried who ever we get we are screwed unless we fight back.
@April Politico Richard “Tice claimed net zero was costing taxpayers around £30 billion a year …
Reform wants to “scrap” the net zero ambition and hold a referendum on the U.K’s 2050 goal, a legally-binding target”

2035 will come and go. Having spent 44 years in the electricity producing industry electric is not the way to go. I use campsites and every single site I have been to in recent years have stated that they will chuck you off the site if you charge your electric vehicle from the EHU. At best they have had two charging points in the main car park or have pointed you in the direction of the local supermarket. Having spoken to some of the land owners they have told me they cannot afford to upgrade the power supply to their sites. Look how gas conversions for diesels panned out. Garages are closing there gas pumps left right and centre. Electric will go the same way.
I think the problem with gas (lpg) is that's also banned under the Paris agreement. Again how will campervans cope without lpg gas. I totally agree Dave electric is not the way. It was only about 2 years ago government put out warnings of power cuts because the grid could not cope. So they know the number of electric cars will be very low, either only the rich drive or we continue with diesel.
he right about bmw drivers
