Get an old fashioned bike, get fit. Trying to charge an electric bike with solar (when did we last see the sun?) is a nightmare. Ive returned to an analogue bike and put slime in tyres too. Ive been a kean forager for decades and realised today that i can survive and keep my health by just storing rice and pasta, plus i have a lurcher who is an amazing hunter. The big thing will be getting water. If floods come all the water supplies will be contaminated (just loo at what united utilities are doing to the rigers and canals), so head for the hills and find some natural springs. Also get wood burners fitted and learn how to forage wood, what wood and how to build fires. Learn first aid and which wayside plants will help with illness and healing. Get batteries for hamm radio
I definitely feel something is brewing, especially here in the UK. I can’t quite articulate it as the feeling and thoughts are purely conceptual but it’s there, manifesting
Four years ago like many, I found myself in a line of people outside a supermarket surrounded by barriers holding a mask that had to be worn to enter. I was already living in a van but was not prepared. I now live on a boat and have the mentality of trying to be prepared for any eventuality. I won’t go into detail but I’m constantly trying to improve my preparedness.
I live in a house but thought I'd chip in anyway. Most/every friend or neighbour think I'm a nutter for preparing for shortages/outages. I'm a country boy & we had very little when growing up so were often thinking about getting thro next week/month etc. I guess there's a complacency in many & a misplaced confidence in the state always providing a safety net ... tbh I have now given up mentioning the subject. As for me I'm pretty well prepared with around 3 months of food, water purification, generator, veg seed, diesel heater, woodstove for cooking/heating & around 3 years of firewood. I should get a power station so as not to be running the generator so much (use it as a 'buffer'). You are not mad Mark as we are never far away from empty supermarket shelves & petrol pumps. Being prepared buys you time to assess the/a situation & not be caught up fighting with the masses. Oh yeah, the farmers dispute (I'm behind them 100%) could highlight the frailty of our food supply chain. All the best to you & yours.
I'm not convinced a camper van is a good idea in a shtf situation. It will attract a lot of attention and probably unwanted interest so I'd need to get off the streets pretty fast. A house wouldn't be as interesting unless it's an impressive one. When ever you see riots on tv you always see burning vehicles, but not many houses. So that's a comfortable thought. I don't see government backing down either. The farmers hitting the town could be the tipping point. A lot of Londoners want it to kick off so they can loot.
Due to health issues I'm not a van lifer, but I have a minimum 1 months stock of dog food and my food. A camping g gas heater and cooker, candles, torches and batteries. I've lived in the country all my life I've my trusty air rifle, fish lines and a stock of other off grid survival items. Electric bicycle would be no good as Electric power would be out, better a normal bike. Don't forget matches. Great video issue. We need to think seriously about this issue now, we're way behind the us on this issue.
We keep Desmond full of diesel and food. We have means of cooking stuff from what we call the apocalypse box which is dry goods etc. We also carry more items in case any breakdown carries on longer. Personally I think town centres already are a no go area.
Coincidentally, my82 year old mum phoned me up today and asked me to get her camping stove today because she fears the power outage As for us? We always have a couple of tins of Fray Bentos and - our passports in the van.
Great video Mark. I usually carry around a month's supply of dried or tinned food in the van. Although a little bit depleted at the moment. But will restock very soon. Always try to have as much diesel as possible as well
Have you and mandy made plans if riots do break out ? Or don't you think the situation is that bad ? So many people I speak to say "I've had enough it needs to kick off"
@Roadshome personally I don't think it will kick off at the present time. As you know people don't stick together in this country, rather stab each other in the back. No backbone. But always keeping an eye on developments
Prob with storing food in the van would be the weight of any tins. But rice, pasta and cereal would be better. A good water filter might come in handy for enforced long term rural wild camps too.
We have the water filter sorted. Did a review on it a while back. Won't win any races but it does the job. th-cam.com/video/lE4_qsnSue8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kyKR7Uzl241Y4Wg_
I'm ex/ semi vanlifer now but have always covered myself ie tin food, another form of transport always for the just in case.. when you go back in history people didn't have what we have today and lived perfectly ok LIKE , washing with washing machine, showers etc, and then there's Bushcraft skills ( the old skills) which most of us don't know anymore, oh and the biggest thing COMMON SENSE. we have become way to soft.
its starting to get dark everywere-not just this country. I'm keeping Viv full of diesel. I have a big battery, getting a big inverter, and got power bank and solar. I think I'll star getting tinned stuff for when the 💩 hits the fan..... I dont want to see it happen but I feel its coming. Keep yourselves safe Mark 🙏-Kenny
Thanks for the video Mark, we live in a house and have been fully 'awake' to what's going on for years especially since c 19 . The only problem with solar as we see it is the trails in the sky blocking out the sun. Where we live in the UK hardly enough sun this year to light a candle. We like to think we have enough supplies to last a while - food, power etc. Power outages are a real possibility now.
We have been out trying to test solar panels. I say trying because as you say the lack of sun or even a clear sky is odd. It just seams grey. Kill the farms ? Buy the land cheap ?
We are in a van but not mobile (static) on our land, been prepping for about 7yrs,have a log burner and burn the fall from our woodland, have a poly tunnel, borehole, chickens, goats for milk butter and cheese,we have not relied on electric for years and use the burner and a gas stove for cooking, fully stocked on bread flour, olive oil, yeast ect, candles, batteries pretty much there as its not to far away now 💫
I have food in storage also have some in my van not to weigh my van down that is but then it worries me that if the electric goes I won’t be able to get into my storage locker so I’m giving a lot of my food to the homeless shelters and keeping some tin stuff back for myself stored in my van 😊 some of my Friends who live in their vans don’t stock up at all and people think I’m mad I’ve been doing it for a few years now stocking up. Take care 😊
Hey guys, yes as you know we are preppers, we have a few months of dried foods ( survival meals 😂), power banks and solar, water filter, a diesel can, so fuel or heating (eating) which ever is the priority at the time, City’s to be avoided, Keep up the great vids guys🚐☯️
Glad people are starting to wake up. I have got a van but only a day van, as for prepping I have got a I. Grid solar system and a off grid solar system that will store 22kwh and a 800watt wind turbine. Dried food in the attic and a dehumidifier so I can produce our own drinking water.
Always keep fully stocked with as much as you can carry and you know the places to go from the bush craft adventures. When the fan gets hit, you won't want to be anywhere near built up areas. Hide out of the way and out of sight. I have prepped at home but not to the extent that they do on prepping channels.
Here in America, I live in a house bought and paid for, I also have a van that I have been turning into a bug out vehicle for the last 4 years, I have been prepping for years now. We just had a incredible election and our government has now changed from ultra liberal to more conservative but if I have learned anything the last four years it’s don’t trust anyone from the government and take care of yourself and family
The biggest problem during a power outage is Washing... Washing dishes, laundry and people. We lose power every year during snow blizzards, everyone is happy playing card games under fairy lights and im regretting my laundry pile 🤣
In the army, we jacked up the rear wheels of a 4x4 truck, in 2 wheel mode and attached a large sealable bulk food container. (Norgy) Clothes, hot water and dhobi dust in, low ratio and Bob's your uncle.
I’ve been prepping for the last few years. I took advise from a friend in Nabraska and the guys out there are ready for anything., Dry food and forage anything available. Dry foods is the way to go. But buy good quality gluten free if possible. Essential oils for medicine. Education is the way to go.
The USA has far more preppers and awake people than here in the UK. I'm seeing more and more climbing on board and prepping. The UK current government are a bunch of crazies. Tension is high. And we don't have the counyside to dissappear into like you guys do. Have you prepped for a home stay or bugout ?
So pleased to see this video pop up, yes, yes and yes! So I’m not a full timer but I have been prepping since 2020, a lot of the food I bought then though is not out of date (on the tin) I’m not sure if your best in a house or a van tbh… they will eventually use those boat people to police the road blocks once all hell breaks loose!. Hoping it won’t come to that but they are all here for sinister reasons. I listened to an interesting Macro Aggressions podcast earlier talking about this very subject! Thank you for raising awareness ❤
"They" are already using boat people to take people's homes acting as security firms. You may have seen the British public have started to stand their ground and take back the homes wrongly taken. I feel a bit venerable as I think a camper of any kind may attract attention from the wrong people if they have the idea of moving outta town. Also even if hidden away someone coming across a camper they are likely to come and investigate. Mark.
Not heard of the podcast before, had a little listen 🤔 Think we are now sorted for power 🔋 🔋 I'm getting my fitness up with all the miles I'm walking 😂 Sioux.
I live in a house love van life hopefully one day but yup fully prepared for anything always prepping several months of food at least 3 but probably more petrol generator, solar generator, fuel, lighting survival gear etc prepared for bugging in but also ready to bug out if needed we need more of a connection in the community and local communities that are on the same page
I'm really surprised by the number of people who have prepped in houses. I really didn't expect it. It's great to see at least some of the UK will survive 👍 😀 It's no disadvantage being in a house. In fact the more I think about it, I feel at a disadvantage. I can't store much.
@Roadshome yes there is a surprising amount of like minded individuals around, it would be nice if people could come together and talk about it more, and its only down to circumstances that ive not got a van now too. I think the lack of storage is literally the only disadvatage but with alot of knowledge you wouldnt need too, being self sustained in a van can get you anywere and away and there is alot of independent communities around the uk fully self sustained or mostly that you could go to and probably offer help on the land for food as youve already got a place to stay. If i see things getting too bad thats my intention grab my prepping gear and go right up north where its abit safer and easier to protect my partner kids and pooch.
i only keep weeks supply of food in the van now, i did try keep more but i found it dident work out due to lack of storage and changes in temprature , in the summer even tins cook in themselves and in winter even oil can go solid, i now keep stashes in diffrent places , fworkshop, g/f and family members places etc, even getting the house dwellers into prepping , solar is great in summer but still need to burn the gas in winter )
Mars bar 90s 65g down and down to current 47g in 2022 happened with all chocolate bars thinner than before. They have to have a 40% increase to get back to 65g a big difference
I think the most important thing to do is to sit down one day soon and make an emergency plan for different scenarios. I have had 2 serious floods in my flat in the past few years, which made me think hard about all this. Even before shtf there could be fire, flood, landslides, earthquakes, energy blackouts and 'externally imposed conditions', shall we say, Having a bag with any important paperwork, change of clothes and some essentials is a must, imho. Knowing whether to shelter in place or go. What about pets? Do you have food/accommodation/transport for them? What is your area emergency plan? This would give you info on what the army & other emergency services plan to do, such as drinking water distribution, potential road closures and the like, Things tend to happen quickly so to avoid panic it's prudent to have thought about various plans of action depending on the circumstance, imho.
I live in a house & have health issues & celiac so I have to be careful what I eat, but I’ve army stove, camping stove & lots of camping equipment & am stocking up on other supply’s & iv been telling people for the last 2 years to prep, get a small trap to catch rabbits & a c/bow as they laugh when they see my prep & call me gi Jane lol
Also stock up on first aid & any medication you can get your hands on, I’ve 2 washing up bowls overflowing with medical stuff from ointment to bandages
Lived without mains electricity & gas for three years...no problem for me, but would be for many. I totally agree regards powerbanks, you don't realise how beneficial they are, until you get/use one or more. I'm 100% self contained, power sources are mobile gas/canisters, 12v via vehicle, log burner & an inverter generator only when required, log burner. Lots of wild tent camping helps in the thinking of what can & can't be done...& survival.
It amazes me how Gas/electricity companies can charge a ridiculous Daily standing charge, so even if you use very little energy you are still paying them a Daily price.
@Roadshome You're right, though in our home we only pay a £13pm gas standing charge & so far haven't disconnected it due to extortionate charges for reconnecting. Electricity we pay zero, because we wanted it disconnected. We simple don't need it, nor the stupid usage costs, because we're fully powered up by other means. We feel we're saving quite a lot of £ & wished we made the changes years ago.
May I ask, how do you power your lights? I know of a house local to were we are that doesn't have central heating, upstairs radiators are heated in summer by solar thermal on the roof and in winter by a back boiler on the log burner. It does have electricity for lights plugs ect and gas is supplied for cooker and a heater (just incase) many people told the owner they need to get gas central heating fitted. Is this the reason gov want to ban log burners, cos you can heat your home for free, if you can source free wood. Yes central heating is convenient, but life isn't ment to be convenient . That's why people have got lazy.
@@Roadshome Great points re log burners & what the Gov don't want us to have. We indeed have a log burner at home & that's all we need to keep warm. As for lights we use battery powered dimmer switches, one or two in each room...3xAAA batteries lasts atleast month in each. We have TV,s everything & use the inverter generator only when needed, which is 25mtrs away in a shed. We can't hear it running. Honestly we're not at all hindered by not being on grid...whether at home or mobile. It's a mindset & almost all people don't think from what they know & they're comfortable with...yet most will complain about the costs of such. As you say, it's convenient (& costly) but it's certainly not at all necessary👌
th-cam.com/video/SWSE17q-79A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WDsibMedzfaiREE7 It's what I touched apon a little while ago. Now I have more ideas for vlogs. Sioux. ❤️ P.s. vlog out at 4pm , I'd love your views on it.
I remember the 1987 storm and we had no electric for six weeks as the power lines were down and the only thing that still worked even though the phone lines were down (but not broken) was the phone so I have always kept an old style phone but now they are doing away with that.
I remember getting up next morning and going out to the 1987 carnage. You couldn't buy or rent a chain saw for weeks and clearing trees made people a fortune.
I live in bricks, but I have a Merc Vario and VW T4 which both have solar and house batteries. I'm stocked up for me and my dog. Won't go into details, but I have an Ecoflow and expansion battery. Pure Sine Wave Genny. Paraffin heater. Solar. Etc etc.
Lots of way to multiply your defence easily cheaply and imaginitively. Look up Caltrop's. 'seed' you garden with them once things go south. Ammo boxes with downward facing , sharpened nails driven through the sides. Place them under windows for invaders to trap themselves in. Holes through the upstairs floor, with chicken wire tubes into the room downstairs. Now you can drop things into the tube and anyone in that room can't get hold of it. An old door suspended above your stair well, with loads of heavy rubble on it. Obvious uses. Take your doors off and nail them over the stairs to make it difficult to climb. Speak to ex Army, they know all about fortifying a house.
I carry 200 tins of mackrel and 50kg of rice at all times as a minimum. Got all the survival gear and know how to survive in a hostile environment. This is why they want our lifestyle stopped , we are far more aware of whats going on and willing to talk about it . 2025 is going to be an interesting year .
I don't agree with the lifestyle ending thing as I think that the reasons are more basic than that. I'm a bit of a prepper by nature and I wonder what your plans are in this regard in terms of where you go? No details, obviously, but do you have places picked out that you can go to get away from the worst of it ? Maybe a remote farm etc as trying to survive long term in a small vehicle would be extremely difficult if you don't have access to resources longer term imo.
@@oldbloke204 yes , I've got one area in particular where the hunting and fishing water supply and firewood are in reasonable abundance. Its extremely remote , easy to hide , defend , move about if necessary . I'd dig my van in and camouflage/conceal my location and stay static as long as possible depending on what situation I was dealing with .
Well hi to you from USA got to say my prepping is similar to your own in this world you never know what could happen so many factors at play . Lots of bases to cover but I think 3 months is a good number as far as food goes. Also alternate method of transport is a good plan all the best. English bloke living in Arizona USA.
What's the general feel having Trump as presidant ? Does it feel like your going in the right direction now ? Here in the UK it's a right mess. Not sure if you guys follow what's happening over here ?
@ for the most part people are optimistic it’s going to be better but one person can’t fix everything, also the whole world is going in the wrong direction wars everywhere and economies going down the pan ! Look at Germany right now! All we can do is try to keep up and look after what is in your control. As the best chat later.
Good video, and agreed van life people are more switched on to this. I live in an apartment but in last few years started prepping when there were separately some waterline issues, heating went offline few days mid-winter, and food prices increasing. Yes van life could be more resilient as long as you’re well organised. I have enough to stay in this apartment for a month too, but the apartment can’t drive out of here 😢 In the extreme look at wood gas fuel, which could also be used for generator or the van depending on your setup
@@Roadshome Yep. No internet. No electricity and no heating. It might only be for half a day, but I'd like to be ready. I also have a fuel inverter heater, but that's power dependant of course.
Don't know if you've seen the film The End We Start From? It's to do with a national disaster (UK) brought about by flooding (which given the weather, is entirely possible). It demonstrates how life would get when there would be power/food shortage etc. People become savages as it's every person for themselves. It's pretty grim viewing tbh, as you can imagine it happening like that 🙁
I have, their is a WW3 film coming out Christmas. Looks good. I hope it doesn't kick off though. Have you thought about what if ? And where you'll go if the country rioted ?
It's much better to buy lithium batteries and an inverter than a power bank, this way it's easy to upgrade and if you want it portable an old trolley case is ideal
As I said to someone else. My inverter was £250, my battery £500 each my solar £800 I fitted it all but if a company had to fit it the cost is triple what a power station would cost.
I live in a flat and I've been prepping since 2016. The way things are, I'd advise anyone to stock up whether they live in a van or not - at best, prices are going to get higher and at worst, supply chain breakdown and food shortages are going to hit if NATO gets any further embroiled in what's happening in Ukraine.
I like this topic. Kudos for being proactive but I personally think that things like vans, boats, narrowboats etc are by their nature lacking for longer term prepping due to their small size and that they rely on other services for being useful. Here in Australia during the recent health thing many smaller towns/areas banned any vans or caravans as they didn't have the medical facilities if there were issues. Lots of people were in big trouble and some only got by as people let them stay on farms or whatever. We have a 100+ yo house with rainwater, woodstove, firewood, cellar, fruit/vegie gardens, food supplies, plenty of camping/bushcraft gear and a capable 4wd. We don't keep massive amounts of food stored but if I see anything going on I will be able to add to it very quickly.
Sounds like you have a pretty good set up. Here in the UK we just don't have the land to distance ourselves. We have built a hide away in the woods, a back up. If you look on our community page there's a picture. It's well hidden off the beaten track. Ifs not the best set up bit we have to live with what we have at hand I guess.
@@Roadshome Just had a look at your place. It looks very nice. We're very fortunate with where we are but it was more good luck than anything else. We live a long way from most of our families, other than our kids, and it was the only place we looked at. We've been here about 4 decades now. The world seems to be getting crazier all the time so hopefully things calm down. Cheers.
If you can’t get diesel or petrol you will struggle with power banks in winter here in the UK. Don’t think any solutions in vans is more than short term
Maybe neil, but I've just been given a monster to review 😆 and I mean this is a big fooker. I think you was about when covid hit us and diesel was short supply. It was hard though. I remember being on the drove and scared to drive a few mile to Amsbury to see if they had any diesel. Power I can live without.
@@neilbeadman1808 there are other ways of generating electricity but the best thing is to reduce the need for it. I've also got an Ista breeze wind genny but it takes a bit of setting up and is fussy about turbulence. There's also boat gennys for sailing boats which are a quick solution if you are near a river .
@@louisebran5406 you'd be better off putting the petrol in a petrol powered water pump as far as efficiency goes . Also in case you don't know , pumps push far better than they'll pull , in fact I think there's a limit of around 7 mtrs for pulling ("lift" in pump speak.)
Definitely think about it more these days, carry a couple of weeks food with us, I believe like you we are better off than people living in houses, don’t rely on the grid 👊👍🚌🏴
The things that strike me most about "vanlifers" is that the vast majority who make videos, dont actually live in their vehicles and are never likely to. The other thing which is even more visible is that there is little or no communication or co-operation with others who are supposedly also "vanlifers". Selfishness and stupidity both seem very common, and if the situation related to matters such as open door immigration does become worse, and there is widespread unrest, and martial law is introduced I really can't think of anywhere worse to be than in a van, where no one gives a shit about others living the same way?
When I stayed down at stonehenge I built a good relationship with a lot of other vanlifers. Your right though. When I first arrived I was given some strange looks as I put my nice new van amongst the long term old vans, some guy said, all the nice vans park up there mate. So I said yeah I know, that's why I've parked down here. I'm not one of them, I just have a nice van. Lol
@@Roadshome In 2011 Wiltshire council attempted to close the Drove. There was a fair amount of resistance and the closure didnt go ahead. Closure plans are in process again now, and even though there are probably now double the 2011 numbers at the Drove in 2024, not noticed any visible resistance at all? Same thing goes for all the other closures all over the country, none of which has been resisted by anyone at all......................
@battlebbot plans for the tunnel on the A303 have now been dropped. Resistance 1 council 0 . It was scrapped by Rachel Reeves. The only good thing she's done since being power 😆 it still doesn't give users of the drove a free for all. It needs to used with consideration. Users need to stop building encampments and pallet walls. It's a public road. (BYWAY)
@@Roadshome The TRO that will be implemented on the Drove, is likely to applied for on public health grounds, but the various encampments there now, will certainly also figure in the application. The fact that there is zero co-operation between vanlifers, and most leave piles of rubbish at park ups, and often chop living trees down to make fires, makes things very easy for those seeking to close down sites. Scarborough sea front has now been closed to vanlifers after many years of poor behaviour. Of course not all behave badly, but there are more than enough twats to make it quite easy for councils to claim all are irresponsible.
@battlebbot we have Scarborough Morecambe and Lincoln town all closed or closing. I am making a few enquiries about this that everyone will find interesting. Also about Scottish parking, all coming up in another video soon. Just waiting on emails but I'll given you a clue, I've asked for public rights of information.
People in house have cupboard full of stuff van you have limited space, ive got a huge garden i can grow stuff in keep animals of i wanted. Advantage of van you can move easily to a better area if needed
Your not nuts.... I have been a prepper for 30 years and have food for a year Electric to last me a lifetime and much more for when the shit hits the fan..... I would love to have the van life but as i look at it when the rule of law has gone everything is free so i will be getting what i need to move around also getting me and my family to 1 of the 4 bugout locations that i have.....
Yeah see you've just said exactly what I fear. If it all goes shit taking what you need will fast become the normal. Any kind of nice looking prep vehicle is dangerous to own. Cheers for your input to our comments 👍
Hi Mark. I’ve got a question if that’s okay. Is your solar still good enough at this time of the year to keep you going? What size panels have you got, watts wise? And batteries? I think my biggest problem is my power hungry laptop that I use for work and entertainment. I’ve got 2 X 200 watts panels (= 400 watts), but getting very little power via my solar since October really. My solar system was installed at the beginning of May. Not experienced winter yet 😢
No, ask away. Both me or sioux work our way through every question. I have 460w solar. Panels are 3x120w 5.5A and 1x100w 5.5A as long as you match the Amp you shouldn't get a power drop. My batteries are 2 x 100amp lithiums (sterling power) I'll get round to showing all this 😆 I have a 17amp B2B paired with victron 30A giving me 47amp. My panels are flat mounted. On poor days I'm getting 1amp an hour 😆 enough to charge my phone. I plan on doing a mini series on showing my power input every day for a week. So keep an eye out for that. I'll show what the sun is like and power used over night etc because so many people are interested and mislead by false claims on FB. Hope that's of help.
@@Roadshome I'm taking 3 x 100Ah batts back to sterling this week and picking up a fan plus a spare fan for my Sterling BB60 dc to dc heater , sorry I meant charger !
The bottom line is the length of time that the power goes off. If say it was national for over a week there would be no power to work the fuel pumps to fill the lorries taking food to the supermarkets. I have oil central heating and could use that to run my van to charge up the batteries. I do have a petrol generator to keep the house freezer frozen but that is for a two day power cut. My answer to the problem, which I know is a dream, is that people should learn our real law. In this way we could force those MPs, who we have allowed to become our masters rather than our servants, to obey the real law not the rules that they make up to control us. If you know the real law, which is very simple, not the crap that lawyers advise, you can remain free. I'm not talking rubbish. I've proved it works by understanding the difference between legal and lawful. Any legal law that parliament passes can be nullified if it is unlawful and against our constitution. I've proved it three times by stopping police helping bailiffs break into houses to execute legal court warrants. They need lawful authority which they do not have. I said it was a dream that we could get back control of our parliament because in effect I'm not fighting parliament I am fighting each of you who are too lazy or too stupid to learn the real law. It hurts - it really hurts- that my taxes are being used to slaughter people in Ukraine and Gaza and even imprison people for posting on Facebook and TikTok. They could be free had they learned that the laws used to imprison them are unlawful.
Half the problem is police and courts don't even want to listen to what you call real law. If the courts accepted it then police would be made to listen and they would stop their abuse of the people. At the moment I see the police as the people who will start any riots. They are being encouraged by government to act heavy handed to bring in the soft woke society. You don't need laws to see police are acting in a 2 tier manor and this will wake people up.
@@Roadshome You are correct in your assessment of the police and the courts being half of the problem. My greatest successes come by challenging the police, the courts, and the council without going to court. I use their law and serve legal notices by email on the chief constable if the matter is urgent or by affidavit if there is more time which forces the establishment to examine the real law. They then usually decide that they do not wish the matter to go into their courts because the publicity of a court case would expose to others the real law. Most people are unaware that many people arrested or summonsed for breaking the lockdown law had their cases dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service because the law though legal was unlawful. If Tommy Robinson spent some time learning the real law and ditched his expensive Barristers he would have shown that the judge's order was unlawful and against the constitutional Bill of Rights Act 1688. The other half of the problem is that the people are too lazy, stupid or mindprogrammed to learn our laws.
no one in the UK is prepared for a shit hits the fan setup we might be ok for a month or so but the only real way is to have a cabin in the woods somewhere with a water supply/food storage and full solar...I own a van and its "prepped" but yeah we are not really prepared by having a stored van its more an "escape" plan if the roads are useable....
@@Vlad-bu3mr Absolutely agree. Prepping Is only any good if you’ve got an underground hideout that no one knows about and you’re prepared to live down there for the foreseeable future. If the poop hits the fan there will be anarchy. If you’re found in your motorhome with resources by anyone it will be game over. When we had the fuel shortage a few years ago when the tanker drivers went on strike, half the cars in our neighbourhood had their fuel tanks drained overnight after having massive holes drilled into them. That was just a fuel shortage.
We can always pop to you Coral, so Mark can stitch you up. Lol. Getting the stitches out was a bit of a task as I had to work out what kind of wacky stich he had used. Sioux.
If you ever seen or been in situations like that you want to have the least to show up camper van is bad idea or fancy hause. People will rob people and if you show you got something you in truble so can keep full tank stock of food but without team or guns, good luck :). Best is to learn survive in vild nature where is less civilization as towns would become most dangerous spots
Yes we are aware of this, but that's a full blown shtf. I explain in today's video what I fear for now. Hope you join us and give your thoughts. 1600 hours.
I don't need to prepare for anything. Life has always been fantastic and will continue to be. There's no need to worry about anything at all when you simply do what you want to do. Regarding fuel ⛽ and food 🥩...that can quickly disappear from the pumps and shelves in any serious situations , such as war etc. So a stash of this is meaningless in the long run. I have always been able to hunt and forage for wild food, and there's an unending supply of fresh water everywhere in lakes, streams and rivers. So really it is not necessary for me to change what I do or fear for the future.
@thefloatingapothecaryroman16 A healthy human is the best of all natural filters. I've been drinking unfiltered water from rivers, lakes and streams worldwide all my life.
Yep agree, Sioux bought a food dehydrator but it uses to much power for winter. I have a stainless grill to use on outdoor fires. But it's time consuming. With electric you. An forget it.
As you're not plugged in while doing van life you're bound to be more aware of being off grid as its a day to day reality. Swings and roundabouts really as in a van you can't store a large amount of food and water and like you said if diesel becomes an issue you're stuck. In a house you can store more food and water and have camping stove, solar etc but you're in one location. The only really bad thing l can think of is losing the freezer stuff if you have a prolonged power outage and no back up generator. Im in a house and l'd be ok, we can survive without the internet and online stuff, ld just like to keep my phone charged but could survive without it. Have a battery radio and lots of batteries .Plenty of camping gas, solar lights indoors and lots of lamps, candles, bioethanol fire etc. Its better to be prepared and not need it.
It sounds like your aware of the possibilities and thought it through sensible 😀 even if we keep power I think the possibility of riots on the streets are close, and can easy be tipped over the edge. Let's hope government don't get to heavy with the farmers. It could be enough.
@Roadshome yeah l agree, we are close to the edge, people have had enough. I fully support the farmers and hope they'll support us in the future. Even if the thugs in charge back down re farmers they're coming for the rest of us. The government need to start listening to the people they work for. Keep safe everyone x
I'm not a vanlifer, just interested, but two things about the video and comments strike me. First. the assumption of enough disposable income to buy all the supplies and equipment. Second, the apparent desire to maintain the current standard of living.
Vans are not the way to go if the SHTF, roads would be grid locked or blocked off, I have my 25ft sailboat moored 20mins from where I live, ready to go at a moments notice, fully stocked with everything I need to keep me self sufficient at sea for long periods and the big plus is I'm the fkn captain.
Yeah I'm not sold on the idea of boats in a bad situation tbh. Maybe if you can use it to get to an island or remote place with some resources for extended periods but not otherwise. One decent storm and a boat that size will be virtually useless imo. I watched a few videos of yachts during the recent health thing and a few of the international travellers were in big trouble when countries closed down their borders.
@@oldbloke204 I wouldn't imagine it would be likely to hit the open sea, skirting the British coastline of which there is nearly 8000mls and especially the west coast of Scotland which is really only fully accessible by boat would be a far safer option than travelling by road and as an avid fisherman it would be self sustaining, no shortage of sheltered coves to drop anchor in bad weather. Call me crazy but this world is quickly becoming a disaster waiting to happen.
My house electric is to high. So i built a 1300Ah battery bank then i can turn my house 240v electric off in Feb or March. And just live with 12v and a 240v inverter.
@@Roadshome Yes i have a washing machine. My 6000w generator comes next month so i will use that to top up my battery bank and use it for the washing machine. I have been heating and cooking with paraffin from 2021 in the house.
I'm worried about nuclear war at the moment but I ain't prepping cus I don't wanna live in a world were that ever happens but I've got three tins of spam lol
It costs 1000's to buy solar panels and batteries and water/fuel storage and then there is the technical aspect of installation, this is beyond the scope of most people living on minimum wage or close to it. Most people are just trying to get by, if their car breaks it's more than a month's wage to fix, if the dog gets sick, its a moth's wage to fix the dog etc. If you go out for a meal with your wife it's more than a days wage to pay for it. If you have a fireplace you can't use it. We are regulated into complete submission by a tyrannical system of slavery through coercion in a 2 tier police state.
And the reason everything is costing so much ? To keep you busy slaving to survive. This is why I went into vanlife. If I hadn't ill still be working for nothing.
If things start flying around? hope the first one lands on our house, Ps we always keep a few months food in always have i wouldnt call us preppers, Live life forget the news its all bull.
Another great video and a fantastic subject you have brought up. I'd love to tell you all about my prepping but you'd probably be annoyed with me for making such a long comment. There is an old prepper saying... " It's better to have and not need, than to need and not have" If you'd like a more detailed comment on how i prep and what i prep for I'd be only to happy to share with you my story with you.
Yes, this is one thing we are aware of.. that's why we believe campervans will also be a target if things turn rough. Yes nothing may happen but equally things might.
This is why we need community. We need to stick together. We need healers, hunters and warriors (basically those who are handy). There's a reason Americans keep their guns
Yep I live in house but also getting a moho in a few weeks. I have 3 months of food saved for me and dogs, got piwerbank and jerry can for fresh water. Still stocking up each time I go shopping I buy a couple extra bits for storage, so yes am prepared for most just want to get 6 months worth. Got batteries, candles, books on wild foraging. No harm being prepared for any eventuality and with rhe moho will be able to travel to safer places.
I saw nukes being moved from raf brize norton yesterday US and UK weapons being used in Ukraine, I think your right , things could change in our lives pretty quick Look at panic buying when covid broke out
Hi we are not van lifer but we have a micro camper we still live at home as winter approaches is good to be prepared for anything, weather is changing worldwide, so always prepared yourself even if you don't needed. At least is there in your van . Plenty of food for dogs in case the weather is bad and you are unable to move, get a take away container so you can heat can food for them if you have a microwave in your van, warm food in their belies too. Always have fuel in your van otherwise you know the drill everyone panics buying fuel. We are doing the same at home. We tried not to watch the news as is getting depressing but we need to be informed. The only thing I don't like is some you tubes posting so many prep videos all of this will cause food, fuel shortages and riots, like in the pandemic with toilet rolls , so some of this you tubes only do it to get more views. Power stations are good we have two small ones they are just good enough for our needs and a camping gas cooker to save on the bills. We only need a small heater that we could use using the power station but we have a burner at home . Stay safe
Shits going to hit the fan big time bro, soon enough too, you need to stock up on food..I moved off grid seven years ago because I knew what was coming, civil war is coming man and it’s going to be a fkin nightmare.
You're not a nut case. Advance preparations are a smart investment. Let me rephrase this. You might be a nut case, buuut, I don't think wanting to be prepared is the defining factor.
I'm not that bad..... am I ? I've done something real positive today. Well I hope it is. With my luck... Get some spare food in mate, panic buyers will leave you without toilet roll again 😆
Why is being a bit prepared for what may happen in the world, or even just in your life, doom and gloom exactly? Surely recent health events would indicate that sometimes things happen and if you aren't ready then you could be in strife. When I saw what was going on a few years back I stocked up and warned the people I worked with what I thought would happen. They all laughed at me or looked at me like I was an idiot but a few weeks later they were running around trying to buy stuff and blaming people like me. Got great joy out of setting them straight tbh.
Yeah it's my feeling too. I don't want it, but if governments don't listen what else do they expect. Everyone I speak to say they have had enough.
Your the sort of person I need making comments, waking up those who still think the BBC is the real news.
Glad you watched and commented. Thankyou. ☮️
Get a ham radio too communication and information might not be available from the usual channels
We keep Desmond full of diesel and food. We have means of cooking stuff from what we call the apocalypse box which is dry goods etc. We also carry more items in case any breakdown carries on longer. Personally I think town centres already are a no go area.
Sioux has started to dry stuff and also vacuum pack. 👍
@@DesmondsDonders 100% with you on town centres . It's time to be hyper vigilant everywhere and worse it's going to get .
Stinging Nettles are a good source of nutrition, and they taste a bit like Spinach.
The very first plant I learnt can be eaten, and used to make string. Packed with vitamin C 👍
Coincidentally, my82 year old mum phoned me up today and asked me to get her camping stove today because she fears the power outage
As for us?
I feel it's close enough that something minor may tip the balance.
None of us want to see it happen but at 57yrs old I can safely say the best days of this country are behind it.
It definitely seems that way.
Got a bug out location 😊
We are in a van but not mobile (static) on our land, been prepping for about 7yrs,have a log burner and burn the fall from our woodland, have a poly tunnel, borehole, chickens, goats for milk butter and cheese,we have not relied on electric for years and use the burner and a gas stove for cooking, fully stocked on bread flour, olive oil, yeast ect, candles, batteries pretty much there as its not to far away now 💫
It's sounds like the kind of setup myself and sioux has thought about.
Take care 😊
Hey guys, yes as you know we are preppers, we have a few months of dried foods ( survival meals 😂), power banks and solar, water filter, a diesel can, so fuel or heating (eating) which ever is the priority at the time, City’s to be avoided,
Keep up the great vids guys🚐☯️
Glad you have thought of the eating and heating.
Billie keep eating or is it heating 🤔
I'm so confused by what he says sometimes.
Big hugs Sioux .
Good advice!
Your now presidents name equals that number that everybody knows, fake trump also equals that number ✌
I take it you've seen the shit show of a prime minister we have 😆
The biggest problem during a power outage is Washing... Washing dishes, laundry and people. We lose power every year during snow blizzards, everyone is happy playing card games under fairy lights and im regretting my laundry pile 🤣
Haha, yes, I guess one reason to be up to date with clothes washing.
@Roadshome van life people know how hard it is, I saw you hand laundry video, the struggle is real 😁
@mountaingirlzstuff4314 haha absolutely, now winter has hit the drying part is worse.
In the army, we jacked up the rear wheels of a 4x4 truck, in 2 wheel mode and attached a large sealable bulk food container. (Norgy) Clothes, hot water and dhobi dust in, low ratio and Bob's your uncle.
Haha, ingenious! .
Sioux 👱🏼♀️.
I’ve been prepping for the last few years. I took advise from a friend in Nabraska and the guys out there are ready for anything.,
Dry food and forage anything available.
Dry foods is the way to go. But buy good quality gluten free if possible. Essential oils for medicine. Education is the way to go.
The USA has far more preppers and
awake people than here in the UK. I'm seeing more and more climbing on board and prepping. The UK current government are a bunch of crazies. Tension is high. And we don't have the counyside to dissappear into like you guys do. Have you prepped for a home stay or bugout ?
Check out wood gasifiers, in Bulgaria some people use them to make fuel for their generators, some people put them directly on their cars
Mark.
Not heard of the podcast before, had a little listen 🤔
Think we are now sorted for power 🔋 🔋
I'm getting my fitness up with all the miles I'm walking 😂
Sioux.
It's great to see at least some of the UK will survive 👍 😀
It's no disadvantage being in a house.
Yep no one said vanlife is a easy life.
If the sh*t it's the fan, 95% of people in cities won't last a week without training. If you live in a van, you will last until the petrol runs out.
Mars bar 90s 65g down and down to current 47g in 2022 happened with all chocolate bars thinner than before. They have to have a 40% increase to get back to 65g a big difference
I was typing and the video changed 😂
Wow that's s massive difference 😲
A sensible way to prioritise. I like the idea of breaking it down.
Better to be laughed at than wish you had listened and not done nothing. The need to prep is looking even more needed than ever before.
@Roadshome
You're right, though in our home we only pay a £13pm gas standing charge & so far haven't disconnected it due to extortionate charges for reconnecting.
@@Roadshome
Great points re log burners & what the Gov don't want us to have.

It's what I touched apon a little while ago.
Now I have more ideas for vlogs.
Sioux. ❤️
P.s. vlog out at 4pm , I'd love your views on it.
Solar. Etc etc.
We'll add you to our 'friends list' hehe
@Roadshome I'll probs be on the road with you by then, so you're welcome mate, you'll have to find me though! 😂
Stock the house for 3 months but can only defend the house for 30 seconds.
A camper van will be a prime target so I'm not even sure how I'll fair with what I've stocked.
@@van-gabondramblinrose6398 Will take a look but won't be coming to your house for tea lol.

Your not odd your looking ahead that’s all
Well hi to you from USA got to say my prepping is similar to your own in this world you never know what could happen so many factors at play .

Look at Germany right now! All we can do is try to keep up and look after what is in your control. As the best chat later.
Good video, and agreed van life people are more switched on to this. I live in an apartment but in last few years started prepping when there were separately some waterline issues, heating went offline few days mid-winter, and food prices increasing.
Yes van life could be more resilient as long as you’re well organised. I have enough to stay in this apartment for a month too, but the apartment can’t drive out of here 😢
In the extreme look at wood gas fuel, which could also be used for generator or the van depending on your setup
I live in a 1st floor flat. I have two gas canisters, a burner, candles and a gas safe torch.
What's your expectations ? Power and heating loss ?
@@Roadshome Yep. No internet. No electricity and no heating. It might only be for half a day, but I'd like to be ready. I also have a fuel inverter heater, but that's power dependant of course.
Don't know if you've seen the film The End We Start From? It's to do with a national disaster (UK) brought about by flooding (which given the weather, is entirely possible). It demonstrates how life would get when there would be power/food shortage etc. People become savages as it's every person for themselves. It's pretty grim viewing tbh, as you can imagine it happening like that 🙁
Look up 'mud floods'
I have, their is a WW3 film coming out Christmas. Looks good. I hope it doesn't kick off though. Have you thought about what if ? And where you'll go if the country rioted ?
It's much better to buy lithium batteries and an inverter than a power bank, this way it's easy to upgrade and if you want it portable an old trolley case is ideal
th-cam.com/video/R3E4Zbd03lg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Le542X0nTXyX8Phl
As I said to someone else. My inverter was £250, my battery £500 each my solar £800 I fitted it all but if a company had to fit it the cost is triple what a power station would cost.
I live in a flat and I've been prepping since 2016. The way things are, I'd advise anyone to stock up whether they live in a van or not - at best, prices are going to get higher and at worst, supply chain breakdown and food shortages are going to hit if NATO gets any further embroiled in what's happening in Ukraine.
I have a years worth of food, and that’s not enough for what’s coming…
Follow up vlog coming today.
So you think we are heading for trouble, what will it be and when? Near future or years away?
Cheers.
Diesel won't be the first thing that disappears off the shelf. It will be toilet paper again 🤣
I have a petrol generator but also have a washing machine motor which we are trying to run a pump from the river
@@louisebran5406 you'd be better off putting the petrol in a petrol powered water pump as far as efficiency goes . Also in case you don't know , pumps push far better than they'll pull , in fact I think there's a limit of around 7 mtrs for pulling ("lift" in pump speak.)
@@thelonerizla1 👍thank you for this advise 💫
Yes, I think it's swings and roundabouts.
Cheers for your input to our comments 👍
one really bad winter and this country will be in dire straits...power cuts,no food in shops..will be very interesting
Are you prepping? Or have you prepped? Watch our next vlog out tomorrow.
ive got candles and a tin of spagetti hoops, i will be ok for 1 day.
@@Roadshome Thanks 🙏 for the reply Mark, I guess I’m getting something similar, but using more power with my hungry laptop ATB
Yes we are the same, we have already assessed certain locations . With good natural supply's.
I am 😆 look on our community page. This was summer time.

When SHTF you won't be able to drive anywhere
Please look at what united utilities are doing to the rivers. Yep, go to the Highlands and find natural springs
@thefloatingapothecaryroman16 A healthy human is the best of all natural filters. I've been drinking unfiltered water from rivers, lakes and streams worldwide all my life.
Where are you in the world. Uk ?
@@Roadshome UK/Europe & Worldwide.
I don't think that one could store food for couple of months, in a van! Simply isn't enough space.
Yep agree, Sioux bought a food dehydrator but it uses to much power for winter. I have a stainless grill to use on outdoor fires. But it's time consuming. With electric you. An forget it.
How do you make holy water you boil the hell out of it...
I think you've worked out why so many in the UK don't prep at all. Cost.
So this boat you say you have... where exactly is it? 😆😂🤣
Yes we agree about the roads.
@@Roadshome West coast of Scotland.
My question to you is.. do you want it to happen?
Sioux?
Hmm maybe that is a whole other vlog? I wonder how many people want a massive 'shake up' ?
You buy house, car, pet insurance for just in case so why would you not prep for other scenarios? Silly not to.
people in vans are at a massive disadvantage compared to ya average home owner because there's no space
My house electric is to high. So i built a 1300Ah battery bank then i can turn my house 240v electric off in Feb or March. And just live with 12v and a 240v inverter.
Will you shut down the supply or keep the standing charge?
@@Roadshome Yes i will shut the supply down.
Do you have a washing machine you will use? Will this be able to run. I'm just thinking of the most power hungry item in a house.

Yes I’m a nut case as well
Hi we are not van lifer but we have a micro camper we still live at home as winter approaches is good to be prepared for anything, weather is changing worldwide, so always prepared yourself even if you don't needed. Stay safe
Thankyou for your tips 😊 what country are you in ?
@Roadshome we are in the Midlands
A big gang wrapping around you, when shtf its all about the numbers.
Shits going to hit the fan big time bro, soon enough too, you need to stock up on food..I moved off grid seven years ago because I knew what was coming, civil war is coming man and it’s going to be a fkin nightmare.
I have just found out about starma involvement in Southport. Once that's public knowledge who knows what will happen. You could be right.
You're not a nut case. Advance preparations are a smart investment. Let me rephrase this. You might be a nut case, buuut, I don't think wanting to be prepared is the defining factor.
Lol because nearly everyone else knows stop worrying about shit not hapoened yet.
