The You Tubers have made the forthcoming closure of the Drove nr Stonehenge far easier. Entitlement and not giving a shit about anyone or anything else, seems to be the norm rather than the exception, and I would think in less that 2 years overnighting in vehicles, will be restricted to private sites which are strictly licensed.

@battlebbot I have to agree with you about certain youtubers but not this channel. @thelonerizla1 I would say ALL social media promotion of "van life" is negative in that it can easily be used to reinforce complaints from members of the public and makes it far easier for councils to introduce bans. The videos of the Drove near Stonehenge are a perfect example of this, and the numbers there shown on all the videos mean a ban on the grounds of public health and environmental damage alone, would be a mere formality.
@@nicks2528 Some of them make videos of several parked up at popular locations, which is likely to attract larger numbers of vans, and in many cases will mean multiple complaints from local people, and access being restricted.
I have been homeless for a total of two years, on and off. In my car, on the streets, tent in a forest. I plan on buying a van to live in full time in around a year when I have the budget and a suitable amount in the bank for repairs etc. I am a chef so live in and will do agency once I hit the road, picking up day work and holiday cover. I can go most places in the UK and pick up work easily. I am under no illusions as to how I will run my life in a van. I reckon it's better to have lived on the streets and move into a van than go from a house or at least have spent some time sleeping outdoors with no home to run to if you don't like it. The street life is a very steep learning curve with not much room for error if you want to get out of it. I actually had some of the best times being homeless. It's raw. I've never laughed or cried as much, or seen others do the same. You need to get into the mindset, as other people have said, that having a sea view or mountains or a forest, every night is unrealistic. You need to learn that safety and peace of mind are more important than the scenery when you live on the fringes of society. I don't see this as a downside, rather a fact of the life you choose. Sleep on the industrial estate and then drive to the beach, if that's what you want. All this sappy, waking up and drinking my tea with this view crap is some kind of self justification for the life you have. If I'm dry, warm, fed, have a good book, some vague plan and have enough money then I'm good. I'll take the nice environments but they're a bonus.
What you are saying makes perfect sense .Unfortunately the government really just don`t want vanlifer`s to flourish as they are finding an alternative way of life which is more affordable than traditional methods ,avoiding the rather large expenses involved with bricks and mortar homes.Consequently less taxes being collected is bad news for the governments coffers.

Crazy thing is the locals need the customers but it's like the councils are are running them off. The people who don't want the vans are the wealthy who have the big retirement homes in the area.
Scarborough needs every visitor it can get - never mind making it hard for vans. The powers that be have no idea how to foster tourism - instead they victimise a sector of the market that has been demonised by the ignorant few and bleed dry resorts like Whitby, which is much more attractive and better patronised .
Have you seen Morecambe 😳 every other shop is a charity shop. Not a penny spent since Morecambe and wise first appeared on tv. And they are running us out of town. It's shocking.
@Roadshome Had many happy holidays in Morecambe in the '60s but haven't been back since - I go to Whitby regularly and have seen its popularity increase over the past 10 years or so. Not so Bridlington, where we used to go 2 or 3 times a year in the '60s and '70's - that place really has gone downhill - just like Scarborough.
Not sure why you think that ? Have you tried ? For me I am very happy. I don't want much more than I already have right now. If you gave me a house, I'd rent it so I could travel more.

Not having a go at you, i hope your living a free and happy life but its going to get harder as the more people keep putting it out there the more the powers that be wont like the idea of you living a more free lifestyle.
@marcusupsall9350 van prices are falling. That means the sparkle has worn off for a lot. Most people won't hack winter in the UK. I don't think the problem is full timers. It's the mass weekenders to get the vans out in summer that are the problem.

Oz sounds like a great idea, with all its over regulation and tyrants in government. Australia sure was a bastion of freedom back in 2020-21, and 22.
Just spend your money elsewhere go to towns that will welcome you 👍😊
Crazy thing is the locals need the customers but it's like the councils are are running them off. The people who don't want the vans are the wealthy who have the big retirement homes in the area.
DO NOT VOTE LABOUR
You can if you are in France and own a dinghy 😆
Just go to a local pub & talk to the landlord.
Yeah then you'll have five vans in the bars parking lot 3 days a week
The immigrants have all the hotels where do we go ?
Didn’t Rayner talk about obliging all local councils to make provision for travellers/ campers..?
That got votes ... but doesn't fit the agenda. Operation forget. Are you seeing it yet?
What country is this?
Uk. Now the woke retarded suppressed plot of land that used to be England 🏴 🇬🇧
Said this for a long time just because there a space to park your van dose not mean park there.
Sleep in the day instead
An do everything u wanted to do in the day in the night and will be less crowded and you can only window shop so it saves u loads too
Bring back the convoy
Wouldn’t wish van life on my worst enemy, terrible way to live
its about personal freedom, something in the UK that is being impinged upon
Not sure why you think that ? Have you tried ? For me I am very happy. I don't want much more than I already have right now. If you gave me a house, I'd rent it so I could travel more.
For you maybe !
@@Roadshome if you enjoy it, that’s all that counts
"Vanlife"😂 will be fine , what would be nice is all the part time house dwelling TH-cam vanlifers give it a rest and go back to there houses ,the idiots who park with loads of other vans are the problem - the morons, I've been full time for two years I know some locally that have been in there vans for years,it's called common sense and not staying parked up at the same spot for weeks on end annoying locals , i work full time arrive late at a park up and leave early,,, People think it's a holiday, if you want a holiday take your van to a campsite ,you're saying possibility of it being unlawful to sleep on a van ? Read the highway code , if tired take a rest ,will never happen stop spouting boll***s!
Thanks for watching and your comment, you made some good points 👉
" Your opinion" options are like assholes everybody's got one.
Thanks for watching 👀
Its discrimination and i thougĥt the kuk was anti discrimination ?
Its because you have all jumped on the bandwagon to make a pittance on youtube, now everyone is trying to live a glamourised lifestyle. So all the free places we have parked up over the years have now gone, your part of the problem
Yes I'll agree, but there were plenty before me shouting about vanlife. Cov.. is what brought the numbers to vanlife. And I think the people who have tured to vanlife have had enough of the crap they have been sold as a life.
@ lots of us have understood the matrix for years but vanlife influencers are like born again christians, they have finally been enlightened and think that they have to share their new found wisdom with the world and like most little gems here and abroad are getting expensive and ruined by everyone flocking there, even though you are entitled to.
