The first 2 albums are the best
Great ranking for sure. Mine would be a little different but little deference in the top 5. Always awesome to see your videos James!
No joking this is amazing music , you guys are killing it here, cheers to you mates from 🇺🇸
Thank you again
My ranking of pantera’s groove metal era album would be: 1. Vulgar display of power 2. Cowboys from hell 3. Far beyond driven 4. The great southern trendkill 5. Reinventing the steel
Vulgar Display in its rightful place. Cheers for watching and sharing you're ranking fella 👍
As a follow up Mr Boulder where would you a slot in 72 Seasons?
I'd slot 72 Seasons in behind Death Magnetic I think
Congrats Mr Boulder , heading over there to check it out , cheers 🥂 all the best to you and your band 🤘🏻
Hope you enjoy it. Thanks
@@mrboulder9714 Listened to a few songs you guys sound tight , heavy and grungy good stuff sir !
@@seangagnonProvidenceR.I. Thanks for your kind words. Cheers
Will you give a fuck when Glen utilises AI to write the music and lyrics? Musicians and artists should stick together. You're clearly a knob.
Fantastic ranking mate. Can’t go wrong with the first 3 albums by Deicide. Cheers mate
Cheers Mark. First 3 are amazing, but there's other great stuff in this discography as well. Thanks for watching mate
Fun Stuff. Enjoyed your response James. And its got me thinking what I have in my collection.🤔
Would be cool to see a response from you too Keith. Cheers mate 👍
Brilliant ranking, mate! I really enjoyed this video. Your enthusiasm was palpable with the top 3! Incidentally, they are also my top 3. 'Serpemts...' and 'Scars...' are also underrated albums, and I love that blistering guitar solo at the end of 'The Pentecostal' (or is it the one before it?)!! Cheers!
Cheers James. The top 3 are outstanding, new one is good too. Thank you for watching mate
Hi James!!! As you might know i'm not a death metal fan, just listen to a few bands, but still need to digest the style, sound, vocals...... so this is good way to learn more about Deicide and their catalogue, btw thought they are an scandinavian band, lol. cheers and be well
Haha. Every day is a school day Cristian. Cheers for watching as always mate 👍
Great video and ranking mate one of my favorite Death Metal bands ever ill put mine in here 13. Insineratehymm 12. To Hell With God 11. In Torment in Hell 10. Stench of Redemption 9. Till Death Do us Part 8. Serpents of the Light 7. Banished by Sin 6. Overtures of Blasphemy 5. Once upon the Cross 4. Legion 3. In the Minds of Evil 2. Scars of the Crucifix 1. Decide Cheers Mate 🤘
Definitely one of the best Death Metal bands ever. Nice ranking here too. Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated
Great reviews👍🇮🇪
Cheers and thanks for watching
Great video!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers
Great collection and ranking mate. I do hope they reissue the early ones again individually. My top 3 would be 1. Deicide 2. Serpents 3. Legion That one from the mid 2000s with Santolla on is good le you say. I need to revisit Once Upon its been years i cant remember it at all.
Once Upon The Cross and The Stench of Redemption are essential Deicide mate. Fingers crossed for some reissue's soon. Cheers Mike
Probably, even if I were a catholic, I could not restrain myself from listening to this band - one of the true jewels in the classic death metal scene 😉😉
Some absolutely phenomenal records in this discography. Cheers Lucas
aerosmith albums ranking next?
I'm missing a couple of their albums but I'll definitely keep it in mind
I’ve literally only started listening to Deicide the last couple of months 😳 Always thought that they were too extreme but really enjoying them now Have legion, once upon the cross and serpents of life Trying to find their debut and the stench of redemption
The debut and Stench are essential. Some other good stuff in the latter part of their discography too. Cheers for watching
Jesus only likes the first three albums. But he is more of a Morbid Angel fan.
😂😂😂
Brilliant, and man, I am so jealous that you have Legion on vinyl. I can't find it for a decent price anywhere. Any chance of a Gorguts or Immolation ranking in the future?
I'm lucky enough to have 2 copies of Legion on vinyl. I don't have complete discographies of Gorguts and Immolation, but I'll get round to doing them one day. Cheers fella 👍
Great ranking, very similar to mine's. Deicide weaker albums are the proof that sometimes critics write the reviews too fast, because there's many solid stuff there and they speak pure trash of them.
There's good songs on both Insinerathymn and In Torment In Hell, those albums definitely don't deserve their bad reputations. Cheers for watching fella
Nice too see your top three is exactly the same as mine
Definitely the best 3 fella. Cheers for watching
@mrboulder9714 just snagged that Deicide box set from ebay
@under-one-flag Nice. Glad I picked up that boxset. Pricey, but worth it
I had only ever heard their first two albums back in the day, and would agree the Legion album is totally brutal, i will have to check out the rest of their albums,
There's plenty of great stuff throughout the discography for you to check out. Thanks for watching and commenting
Hopefuly one day I'll get into the death metal genre. I'll stick with my thrash, heavy and industrial metal for now 🎶. Throughout the video I did seem to recognize some of these artworks 🙂🤘 Cheers James!
Cheers Kenan. Hope you're well mate 👍
Fun fact: Steve does all the rhythm guitars on the Till Death Do Us Part album.🤘
I didn't know that. Thanks for watching fella 👍
@@mrboulder9714I watched a recent Jack Owen interview, and that's what he said. I never new!
I've been listening to these guys a lot since the new album came out. I like everything they've done, but they fall like this for me: 1. Once Upon The Cross 2. Legion 3. Deicide 4. To Hell With God 5. The Stench Of Redemption 6. Serpents Of The Light 7. Banished By Sin 8. In The Minds Of Evil 9. Scars Of The Crucifix 10. Overtures Of Blasphemy 11. Insineratehymn 12. In Torment In Hell 13. Till Death Do Us Part Cheers!!
That's an amazing ranking. I'm pretty much in agreement with your entire list. Cheers for watching fella 👍
Scars of The Crucifix was their first album for Earache, not Roadrunner. Another slip of the tongue 😂
Never got into Deicide not really my sort of thing.
A band like Deicide is certainly not for everyone. Cheers for checking the video out anyway Paul. Much appreciated fella 👍
Great Deicide ranking James! I'm still pretty new to this band, I've only heard bits and pieces from their career. Really cool to see you put Stentch of redemption fairly high, absolutely love Homage for Satan! Must pick up that album. Once upon the cross might be my favourite from what I've heard so far, I really wanna pick up those boxsets of their first 6 albums if I can! Cheers man 😊🤘🤘
Stench of Redemption has well and truly earned its place so high up this list, an outstanding record. The first 2 Deicide records are pretty much untouchable Josh, they make 90% of other Death Metal albums sound very tame in comparison. Cheers as always mate 👍
@@mrboulder9714 Nice that's awesome man, I'm glad you think it's that good! I must check it out in full. And yeah, the first 2 are essential. I have heard the debut but not Legion yet, I've gotta change that! You're welcome mate, as always 😊🤘👍
Nice ranking mate my top 3 is the same as yours just in reverse once upon the Cross is still my fave a little story about your bottom two albums the band wrote those so quick in order to get out their contact with roadrunner records
Yeah, I had seen that over the years regarding the bottom 2. They sound like they were just cobbled together. Certainly not worthy of being called terrible albums like some people do though. Cheers Robert, as always fella
Great ranking I really like the new album alot. The first 4 albums will always be my favorites. Legion was the first album I heard back in 1993 and couldn't believe how evil it sounded. Lol
Cheers Ben. Yep the first 3 are absolutely essential. I don't get the hate for the new record, I think it's good. Can't please everyone I guess
Kinda the same as mine would be, as far as your last couple. Good to see you didn't just shit on them like a lot of folk do. Apparently that whole record was actually about his wife metaphorically! In The Minds Of Evil is murderous!! I've actually grown to like the art on the new one, a great record. I've kinda forgotten about To Hell With God! Really liked it when it came out so gotta revisit it. Serpents is killer, shit production, but the songs are so good. Stench Of Redemption is pounding! Santolla was great for Deicide, good in Obituary too. Once Upon The Crossfucking kills, evil cas fuck! The debut is astounding, but Legion beats the fuck outta it. By the end of it it's warp speed- REVOCATE THE AGITATOR!!!! Great ranking James, no complaints from me mate!! Steve Asheim is a weapon. Check out his side project- Order Of Ennead, great stuff.
Insineratehymn and In Torment In Hell certainty don't deserve their bad reputations mate. You definitely need to revisit To Hell With God. So many killer albums in this discography. Both the Order of Ennead albums are great. Cheers Dave my friend
@@mrboulder9714 Aye, I'll give it another blast for sure!!
Excellent Deicide ranking, James. A bit surprised that Overtures of Blasphemy is lower in your ranking. No surprise to see Incineratehymn & In Torment in Hell in the bottom.
Cheers Tony. Overtures being so low only proves how many excellent albums Deicide have in their discography
Ha, funny that my favorite album by these guys will always be Amon: Feasting the Beast, those versions of those songs are just dynamite
Yeah the rawness of those early recordings are great to listen too. Cheers for watching and commenting
Hey Mr B Real shame about Serpents of the light, Steve's bass drums are practically non existent... Like you sed because of the album before it, production let's ot down massively!
It is a shame about Steve's kick drums but the songs are still very strong. Shame it doesn't have the same production qualities of Once Upon The Cross. Cheers for watching fella 👍
In Torment is alone at the bottom for me, weak album imo, of course a lot to do with the production. Do like Insineratehymn. Have not listened much to the new one, but will pick it up. My top 5 would be pretty similar, maybe the debut on top, it was my introduction to them so...... Great video James. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
It's definitely one of the weaker one's mate. It's got its moments but sounds phoned in at the same time in places. Cheers as always Roger
In torment in hell is a fun album even if its really kinda reppettive lol.
Agreed. It definitely doesn't deserve it's bad reputation.
Had to come watch the second i got the notification. Fucking love deicide and i know ur ranking will be spot on
Hope you enjoy it fella. Cheers
Nice response James. Never Mind the Bollocks is a excellent pick, was thinking about picking that one myself. Nile is one that I didn't think of, but excellent choice as well. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Never Mind The Bollocks was one of the first one's to spring to mind. Nile have many great album titles don't they mate. Cheers Roger
Always cherished The X factor. Uncle gave me a cassette with this album as a Christmas present when I was 12 years old. I instantly got hooked by its dark atmosphere and I also think that Blaze's voice fits the mood of the album quite well (frankly I have always preferred Blaze singing over Paul di Anno). It was also the first Iron Maiden LP I owned.
I prefer Blaze over Di'Anno too. We're in the minority fella. Cheers
I just got into maiden but I've been liking metal for years now. I skipped them and went to the more extreme stuff but this week I was listening the whole discgraphy and I tell Somewhere in time is absolute perfection. All killer no filler. My second favorite power slave, number of the beast and the first two kind of mid. I still need to listen to the rest of the discgraphy from seven son foward
Yeah, Maiden are amazing. Both Somewhere In Time and Powerslave are excellent. Cheers for watching and commenting
Where would you put Senjitsu in this mix?
th-cam.com/video/_EAAiqyRb88/w-d-xo.htmlsi=H_s2ql5z8UNZPjEj Hi, I recently uploaded my Maiden ranking with Senjetsu included. Thanks for watching
Sorry if I'm a bit late to this. My reason for this comment is you going to Donny in 95. I also was there. Form me and my friends that day Slayer wasn't up to par and machine head kissed there ass. Metallica could of been better. Now when Metallica was on did you see a fire on the left hand side and if so that's where I was and it was my idea. Because it got cold. So me and my friends found some trees and some cardboard box's. But we got told to put it out or get out.
My biggest regret that day, was seeing Skid Row with Bach but not really being that familiar with them at the time. I enjoyed Slayer as it was my first time seeing them. I don't really remember a fire in the crowd when Metallica was playing. Cheers for getting in touch fella 👍
excellent list
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching
For Whom The Gods Detest is a great title! didn't think of that one. Killer selections and great response!
Cheers Steve. Nile have lots of great titles don't they mate
Nice varied selection of titles and genres as always james I'm with you on formula's it's criminally underrated another case of fans not willing to accept any other vocalist looking forward to the deicide ranking!
Formulas is such a great album, if people have ignored it then it's their loss. Cheers Robert
Brilliant title choices and also a lot of classic albums shown here! I agree, that MORBID ANGEL album is severely underrated. I still haven't heard that ALICE IN CHAINS album, but your description of it has made me interested. Excellent choice with NILE; their albums always feature brilliant music, titles, artwork and lyrics! Great response, mate!
That Morbid Angel album is excellent mate, very underrated. You gotta check out that Alice In Chains album, you will love it. Can't go wrong with Nile, a band that gets a bit overlooked. Cheers mate
Fantastic picks... especially 'Dirty Deeds...' :)
Dirty Deeds is a great title. Cheers Kim
Agreed agreed agreed great Megadeth cover , their next three albums are iconic with So Far So Good So What no t getting the love that Peace Sells and Rust in Peace Get but is so excellent Mary Jane is such a killer track ! I love that Sex Pistols cover , I was a young man when the movie Sid and Nancy came out and took my girlfriend to the Avon Theater here in Providence , Rhode Island USA to the midnight show and it didn’t disappoint and her name is Nancy ! Great stuff Mr Boulder , cheers from USA 🤘🏻
Hi Sean. You really isn't go wrong with the early Megadeth albums So Far So Good So What gets a but overlooked I think as its sandwiched between Peace Sells and Rust. Cheers for watching and commenting fella 👍
@@mrboulder9714 Sure is great stuff , Megadeth was my last concert I went to in 2016 it’s been a while , I took my best buddy to see Megadeth that was his favorite band and his last wish as he had terminal pancreatic cancer , I surprised him with tix we were in the third row center stage Dave Mustaine was right in front what an excellent show and memory , I do have pictures on my Facebook of that show what a great time and Children of Bodom opened for them I like them as well Alexi Laiho rip was phenomenal, oh I’m writing a small book here lol , love the early Megadeth most and some of later stuff as well, I’m not on here a lot but occasionally catch a video of yours , great channel Mr Boulder and cheers from Providence, Rhode Island , USA 🥂
How can I laugh tomorrow if I can't even smile today
That's a great title
