    I just watched your videos on installing crankshaft and your pistons I am short on time for work and may have missed it but I can’t find the con rod side clearance specs anywhere online. Do you happen to know them or have a video on it?

    Hi... My name is Stanley and I think this is by far the best indepth video I've seen on VQ37 rebuild process, and I understand this is a two years old video but I'm having a problem with my awesome G37x. I live in Nigeria (West Africa)so getting brand new OEM spare parts of these cars are not possible. I think my oil pump is gone and it's hard to find an Infiniti specialist mechanic in my location to work on my car. Please, can you refer me to a video or guide me through the process of oil pump replacement in this beautiful motor. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks

    When you use the wrench to rotate the holes to line up, do you know if this is possible without the entire engine open? I needed to replace that entire assembly but my bolt holes do not line up but I don’t feel like stripping it down that far. Thanks.

      For this engine, I kept the stock oil pump and added a small Boundary Engineering shim to slightly increase oil relief pressure. Also, yes, I use Redline assy lube for every build. It's fantastic stuff.

    • @garagefanatic7830
      @garagefanatic7830 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They're all in the FSM for a 370Z. All of the 10mm bolts will be between 8-11 ftlbs if I remember correctly. Always consult with the FSM.

  • @exit36builds14

    What's the torque specs for the vvl cam? The 8 10mm screws on top of the cam tower I had a friend helping me tear a motor apart and I forgot to mention to him not to remove those screws but all he did was loosen them out. He did not remove the cap

    • @garagefanatic7830
      @garagefanatic7830 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't recall the torque specs being listed in the FSM for those bolts but they're the same size as the rest on the cam tower so I'd stick with that and you should be fine.

    Thank you brother, for these videos/ teachings. You are truly appreciated. ❤️. Question: after I removed my timing chain guides and tensioner. I was trying to remove the chain from the intake gears and crankshaft my gears spun two times. I also noticed that my lifters move. Do you think that I might have messed something up? 🤔 Edit: the driver/right side cam sprockets was giving me a bit of a hard time to get off after I secured the tensioner. The chain kept getting stuck into the guide groove... so I put a flat dinner knife between the tensioner and the chain. That made it a lot easier to come off.
